Harpe Ace Extreme Review: Asus Gets Extreme.

- Check out the review on the Asus ROG Harpe Ace Extreme gaming mouse. Its crazy to me that this even got made. The Extreme line reminds me of a no-compromise concept that let the engineering team absolutely go off with no concern for price point - then they decided to mass produce it. This might be the ultimate flex and showpiece for fans of the ROG brand.

Yes, definitely would love to hear your thoughts on Asus $500 keyboard
There is absolutely no hope of that review being positive, this mouse at least a halo product to showcase a new material (although somewhat overpriced like the viper mini signature), the keyboard got nothing to save it, worse performance than wooting at double the price, and worse feeling and sounding than costumes or even prebuilt keyboards.
He already tore that one to shreds. It’s on his channel.
@@houssamalucad753 Its not a new material . I dont see for who this mouse is for and there is 0 reason to ever even us carbon other then cashing in on peopl that have no clue about mouse and just here carbon .
@@xythiera7255 it's literally the second carbon fiber production mouse ever, and the first one had too few buttons and was wired. As I said, this mouse is made to be a technological showcase and a halo product, few people will buy it, but Asus didn't make it to be a best seller, it's like comparing the regular viper mini vs the signature edition.
I bought my first car for less than this mouse.
In 1908?
@@badseedtech yup
@@60milligramsgreetings,time traveler
Here in Brazil if it ever comes it'll cost most probably more than the minimum wage, perhaps around 1.5 times that value, taking into account the fact that a older car can cost around 3.5 times the minimum wage or a little bit more you could say that at least where I live this mouse costs 1 / 3 of the price of a car ( not adding import fees and other taxes ).
It's quite unbelievable.
boo hoo
Asus is so overpriced, has shitty customer service, and their software us laughable.
I work a place that sells hardware and i can buy it for marketprice + 5%. The markup on ASUS gaming peripherals are crazy. I save like 20-40% on them, while competitors like Razer and Logitech is minimal
At least what they're doing is way better than Logitech, right now bro
@@OneBrokeBloke That just wrong, ASUS ROG peripherals is more lean toward cheaper side compare to Razer or Logitech.
Yes, they aren't VXE level price, but they're price similar to Pulsar and Lamzu.
Their Keyboard and Headsets maybe is overpriced with mediocre quality, so does most of "Gaming" Keyboard and "Gaming" headset, You're paying for branding than actual product.
The only "gaming" Keyboard worth it is HE keyboard with Rapid Trigger like Wooting.
at least you get a better product than razer for less money
@@sivaxiosu Well it is not true in Denmark. I don't know about other countries but here, both mice and keyboards are usually more expensive than the competitors. And it is still true, that we sell them with a much higher markup than the competitors. I don't know how you can claim that to be wrong, but I am not going to list our internal purchase prices
“If you also have brain damage” LMAO, in all seriousness though its great to see Asus step their game up to something more enthusiast. I love the attention to detail in these especially the board. Great vid and loving the background. 💪🏽
Im just not fan of my enthusiast hardware having "REPUBLIC OF GAMERS" on it.
Im not even sure i would find it cool if i was 12
I'm glad you got paid for the production time. I mean we've had this discussion before as I was not getting paid for my reviews and such for years until recently that production time and effort is money, but your opinion should be kept straight. I love your disclaimer message, in fact, I'm gonna say pretty much just that moving forward in my videos. Great work.
BUT, does it come with a warranty? HAHAHAHA
Them 8k copers are like Sony trying to push 8k resolution gaming
Lmao you got me with the "if you also have brain damage"
Love the idea of boutique mice with more exotic materials or finishes over the constant rubber and plastic. I got my basilisk cerakote and it's perfect for the plastic but the rubber is still a problem. Something that won't wear down to skin friction would be premoum
Yes please! Review the azoth!!
Wish the extreme board was Hall effect.
These companies are out of touch ASUS charging ridiculous prices for mediocre products, glorious charging ludicrous prices for a keyboard that’s not worth that.
All of them have been paying the fucking game of "let's see how much these suckers will pay" with peripherals, it is our fault.
There's no fucking way most of these should cost that much.
Steelseries hiding under a rock.
They wouldn't be making any if it were so.
People are willing to pay.
At least they’re starting to get that we don’t want bloatware shit-tier bug ridden software. Not requiring armory crate is the only way I’d even remotely consider anything asus
imo the rgb looks a bit out of place but damn that carbon fiber looks AMAZING, still not going to cop, but it's cool
Feels useless when Akitsu exists
When every singel magnesium exist aka WL mouse
wlmouse carbon incoming, smaller op1 shape is what i'm after. But man that wireless za13 is also looking great 😂, decisions decisions...
not everyone wants to have holes under their fingers when gripping a mouse my g
cope, enjoy your swiss cheese plastic composite mouse AHAHAHAHAHA
@@sorvex9 bro anything for my hands to be on a smooth surface hahah. plus that ROG mouser is carbon fibre so
Can you do a video with your wooting 60he and new switches
As I mentioned on Boardzy's page, The ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition was the most disappointing mouse I bought last year. Not because the mouse was crappy, but because you were forced to use the Cancer that is ASUS Armoury-Crate. It's so bad that I went with a different Board maker for a recent build. Boardzy said that this version has its own software.
I watch Badseed Tech in the same way I used to watch Top Gear. I'm never going to buy this kit but it's entertaining to watch the reviews.
DOA Mouse
The AU/NZ branch sent one to me too…I almost shit bricks when I saw the price🥴
Currently running the ULX Tiger. But if it was a bit closer to that 40gram number I’d pick one up. My cousin is getting one so I can’t wait to compare them. But if I didn’t have my ULX this is what I’d be getting.
Why woud he ever get that 250$ mouse . I thoud Finalmouse has a trash cashgrap buisness model but Asus is next level give me money for nothing worth using
@@xythiera7255 one of the lightest mice on the market for that size. Yes there are lighter but those are small small small mice. This is one of the lightest medium mice there is.
I'd be interested to see how much weight they could save with a ~120mm version without RGB or Bluetooth
for 250$ those stock tiny feet are criminal
The initial design had skates that were 4ft x 4ft to give you your money’s worth, but then you needed bigger mouse pads and it turned into a whole thing
Did you not see the giant Corning Gorilla Glass feet that are also included? Lol.
More foot doesn't mean better mouse brother
@@SumoGG Company is clueless as to what people want. They make an inspector gadget product to catch all markets with an enormous price.
@@Jcabby31 i think the price point is ridiculous, but what are they missing here?
Incredible production quality. Must be using NASA cameras cos the picture is so clear. Cool review, too!
Extremely hurtful to your wallet yeah...
get atk f1 extreme way cheaper and better lol
lol cheaper yes quality no lol. Theres a reason why a mouse is cheap.
@@Darth_CeeZeR mines good quality i got the atk f1 pro
@@brogonbtw ive had so many cheap mice and expensive mice. The expensive ones tend to last longer and have a better quality than the cheap ones. Maybe ill buy the mouse you have.
Would love to see your thought on that keyboard
$249 is almost as much as either of my two custom "endgame" keyboards.
I'm staying with my $100 trackball, thank you.
on the azoth extreme they moved the f1 key away from the esc key...why?
it was a perfect grid with the number key row
now its back to staggered...........and they want $500 LOLOL get out
Great video, sorry to ask you this out of place but do you think, you will review the new Sony OLED 480hz screen? I am really curious if it is better than the Asus AQDP you reviewed before. Thank you in advance.
I might actually consider this seeing that I wouldn't need armory crate.. thank god..that's the best news I've heard from Asus.
my custom 65% with gmk keycaps, artisans, and the works is less expensive than that keyboard. How do they justify it?
For sure very expensive. Better like for what it is in every way then. Not fan of sub-TKL myself.
As for 8KHz though eventually for 1000Hz monitors it would be ideal, as it is to have polling numerous times higher then refresh rate.
Added on the calendar and yes the brain damage is hard jajaja thanks brother. nice video al always. i have no see it for now. look amazing. the keyboard i did check ......... ehh sorry. when you have the tech and is all in with all what a brand can do, and make, this is the 2 products what is call the above flagship. I am saving for the second version. since there are 3 version now including the CF one.
I pay out of pocket for all my parts so cost is one of the top factors with my decisions. I also do not have any health deficits where my arms, hands, and wrists can weight-bear normally so any mouse under 60g is incredibly lightweight to me and would not make any meaningful difference with my gaming experience. 8k polling rate is not something I can the difference with from 4k and even 2k. I have a 7950X3D and 4090 so my body is the limiting factor. Someone who proclaims they can tell the difference between 0.1 milliseconds is an individual who is up there with their level of entitlement and BS picky personality, therefore, should not be taken seriously by any normal person.
Get it on the calendar. Love your vids and run the Wooting 60HE and Razer Signature mouse on your recommendations and couldn't be happier. Even though I don't see myself upgrading anytime soon, I'd love to see your take on what's out there! Stay up my friend! 💪
EGG OP18K weighs the same and is almost the same shape (length 9mm less, height 2mm less), and costs 3x less.
Paying an extra $175 to get the same performance but wireless is pretty crazy, but I guess wireless is a big deal for some people.
prices are absurd but I really do appreciate rog taking risks and trying new things while still being in touch with what real gamers and enthusiasts want in a product. especially those hotswap mice switches, and things like that
Less than 5gf difference between main buttons sounds a little high to me for something at this price point. I'd expect something like less than 3gf. Not a deal breaker, but also it makes me wonder what their tolerance is for their "regular" $159 mice.
Honestly, a dedicated mouse bag is a very nice add-on. If I'm paying anywhere above 80€ for a daily driver, I don' want no travel damage on it, small scratches included.
Add some shine on the beard in the channel intro, Brian!
Hey BadSeed tech quick question have you had any hardware or software issues regarding armory crate herd it was bloatware and slowed down the computer and I thought about installing it for my motherboard for updates and rgb control?
Or money is worth nothing anymore or this is way to expensive. It's nice but not for that price. I have a razer blackwindow v4 75% and mouse also expensive but not this steep.
Heavier switches than the Harpe Ace? No thank you. I had to return the Superlight 2 because it had heavier switches than the original.
As great as this piece of tech is, I just can't justify spending 250 dollars on a mouse that on serial production. I will stick with my Glorious model O for the time being :)
Great review though 😊
I literally spat my drink back in the cup when I heard the price... such a joke, and they don't even make it in a small size half the people interested in mice can't even buy/use it.
The price is laughable considering how good the cheaper competition is. We've reached peak-mouse and now some of these companies are just seeing how badly they can rip people off.
Keychron HE for the win!
Maybe they were denying all those warranty claims to help fund the development of this exotic mouse
Having a spatha X and honestly it’s amazing:) very expensive but amazing
Asus Gets Extreme-ly Ridiculous.
^^^Corrected for accuracy. Nobody is going to pay $300 for a silly mouse.
What Asus should be focusing resources on - is their *Malware-level* software Armorycrate.
Overpriced, wlmouse better 💯💯🦅🦅🦅
ASUS has lost too much public trust. It is hard for me to drop $500 on a keyboard and not have the warranty honored or used as a sales tactic.
Let me say this do I think this will give me a edge no, do I think it is cool hell yes
I wish they didn't make this mouse, I love CF so much I think I will need to buy it on that alone lol
I love this mouse. But the huge obnoxious branding is a hard deal breaker. DAV3 will continue to do
I’ve used the standard Harpe Ace for two years as my main Mac mouse. Honestly surprised me with how good it was to use.
Are you also doing a superlight 2 DEX review? as you mentioned the mouse clicks in this video
please do a review of the overpriced ASUS keyboard sir
Anyone know where that black/grey swirled deskpad is from?
Yea I leave most my 8k peripherals on 2k since there’s 0 gain afterwards
I'd love to see one of these with egg shape a button behind the mousewheel like G305
Please review the Lamzu Maya X
2 reviews in less than a week? Now you're spoiling us Brian, great stuff as always
ive used the keyboard but the price is insane. around $600 where i'm at
Always go for optimal brain damage... 😀
No. They can't feel the difference. FACT.
It ain't the arrow, it's the archer. But I purchase a lot of arrows 😂
badseed has to have one of the top 5 beards of all time
If only they would stop with the shity rog font and also logo…
I'd like to see the keyboard review 🙏
Get that keyboard review on deck !!
You saw Sony dropped new monitors
please do a full review on the azoth extreme!
750 for keyb and mouse gotta be real pro or smth n1
I don't buy ASUS products
6:15 "So, if you ALSO have brain damage..."
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I laughed WAY more than I should have at that, but I do have some brain damage, just not in that way. That's like uber-autism levels (I can make that joke because I'm like 90% sure that I'm on the spectrum somewhere).
brain dmg crew checking in 🫡
Review the Azoth Extreme!
A surprise video?! I’m here for it!
Love Ur reviewes!!❤❤❤
$500 for a keyboard from Asus is wild.
My momma said my brain is real good.
Do they make an ergo version?
Eod it’s a good mouse
too bad asus is a shit company.
Get it on the calendar big guy! ✊🏽
''Extreme''
Lol 6:14
Its not on amazon :/
15 min
So, harpe ace extreme and scope II 96 wireless or just the full size scope II (if TKL and mini keyboards are not your thing) are the top "Quality" go to for people with a premium budget, i guess?
PS: I welcome better suggestions I'm just thinking out loud here.
If you're looking for the best competitive low latency peripherals the best is
Keyboard = wooting 80he
Mouse = Razer viper v3 pro
These 2 can actually make you better at games if you already got a 360hz+ monitor
@@Adrian-ep4qm what about a full size keyboard option in ur opinion?
i'm also looking at 240 2k being the sweet spot atm
I was just watching bad seed tech when this came on. I also hope Bryan covers that new JDS atom stack like he said he would.
I think its happening
@@badseedtech Great to hear
$250 without wireless charging _and_ it's made in china. A BRAND NEW Superlight 2 is selling for around $100 on Ebay. Then get yourself a universal wireless charging puck...the setting is _near perfect._ So now I have an ultra high end mouse that's LESS THAN HALF of this thing WITH Qi compatible wireless fast charging. This ain't it, chief. It's amazing how much more you can get the bang for the buck if you're willing to do some homework.
Superlight 2 is also made in China, that’s where Logitech has their manufacturing facilities. In fact, irrespective of brand, most mice (and a lot of other peripherals) are manufactured in China including top tier models, so being made in China is not some inherent sign of poor quality. It all depends on the brand and the price point.
Wireless charging is the biggest gimmick ever.
What isn't made in China these days?
😂😂😂facts!! lots of braindamage mouse nerds outthere😂😂 love the video bro💪🔥😎
I would love to see your review on the keyboard! ...but I wouldn't drop $500 on it by the way lmao
Really appreciate them letting you save configs to the mouse so the software can be uninstalled, unfortunately it's to expensive, just like the keyboard, or tbh most of Asus products.
That's why you filter the good ones, wait a couple months and get them on sale for actual value.
250 and the 8k dongle sold separately is literally such a joke
Any chance you'll review the Asus ROG Falchion Ace HFX? If these product names get any longer I'm going to eat my own head.
Product names... you mean like their ROG Strix Scope RX TKL Wireless Deluxe keyboard? 😂
I NEED 4 SIDE BUTTONS! Not 6, just 4....WTF?
Great review! I always appreciate your production quality in your videos. This may be a "hot take" but I liked the darker lighting you used to use in your videos... Anyway, keep up the great work...
