This little experiment speaks volumes about her character, honesty, patience and generosity. A child to be proud of and a reflection of her parents values.
The generosity part pt a smile on my face as well. I mentioned in a comment that even after being such a big girl she shared with others before herself. Yes, any parent would be proud to guard this soul. She is beautiful - inside and out. This is a beautiful family!

@@lahopkins9746 My 18 year old would not get a tattoo until I said OK. He begged. I told him he was old enough he didnt need my approval, they would give him the tattoo. He would not do it. I made him wait a year. Then when I said go ahead the next week he got it. I was so proud and touched that he wouldn't do it until I approved.

The most beautiful thing she struggled so hard to not eat the candies, but when she had the chance, she first offered it to her mom and daddy. What a generous soul !
Aw come on mom and dad. This little sweetheart is being pushed to the edge so sweet and she should be taken on a shopping spree as that took real self control.

For her age, Maliya did astronomically, exceptionally well. There aren’t enough descriptors to convey how well she did. That is a long time for a 3, maybe 4 year old.Even when giving a child “time out,” the rule of thumb is one minute per year of age. Maliya went above and beyond that!
In addition to agreeing with all the previous glowing comments on Maliya, she unknowingly demonstrates her respect for her parent’s request. With that respect, comes trust.

The most striking thing is that she waits, she then asks for permission and then hands out a sweet to Mum and Dad before she allows herself one. That says a lot about her character and how she was raised.

I learned so many lessons from her. I think God is the same way, watching us. There are certain things He says that we can't have, then testing our character to see how we react. If we pass the test with character, He will be generous and give us more than what we ask for! This child is so beautiful in spirit and character, still so innocent and generous.

I was thinking very similarly. The Bible tells us what to do & what not to do until Jesus returns. God is lovingly watching to see if we will obey or give in to temptation
Just an extension of your thought: I always felt like if you asked for courage, you wouldn’t be given COURAGE- you’d be put in situations that allowed you to be brave. That way we grow, by being given the OPPORTUNITY to change by doing something different. WE have to do the work.
This little girl demonstrated such self control and obedience. She could put many of us adults to shame. Well done Mali👏👏

I love her restraint and how well she listened to her Mom!
But, most importantly, even though she waited over six minutes, the first thing she did was shared the snacks with her parents. She chose them over herself. She's an amazing child!! ❣️

This is one of the most adorable videos I have ever seen. Watching her having a conversation with the voices in her head that challenged her to go against what her Mom and Dad asked her not to do is utterly profound....not status quo for a Sweetie her age. That speaks volumes on what an awesome job her parents are doing in every sense of the word.

I find myself coming back again and again to observe the deep psychological work this child engaged in. The evidence of an internal dialogue was first visible on her face with the shaking of her head and the knitting of her brow. She then moved to a another level of verbalizing the internal dialogue by informing the sweetie of what she cannot due because of her Mum's instructions. She remembered what she told her mum, "I am not going to eat it."- a verbal contract that she had every intention of honoring. WELL DONE, indeed! Character, Honor, and Integrity exemplified in this child! Brilliant job parents! Outstanding! Blessings!

I was just sharing with my sister this THREE year old was great to watch. She distracted herself, self-soothe, and conducted self-dialogue all tools she used to control her urge. I don't do that as an adult!!!

When I was growing up back in Africa, I was taught that when you want to share with someone, you offer them first before proceeding. Don't offer remnants. If they met you already eating, that's ok. But if they're already there, you're offer them first.
