Creating the paper (documented family tree) trail that goes with the genetic (DNA) trail can be a problem for anyone, but black folks have a lot more roadblocks in the way and the host of this show shares a lot of the techniques to get past those roadblocks. Hmm.....I hope this leads to a good outcome for her. My step daughter, now 25, was born from a Thai mother and an African American serviceman father in Thailand. He returned to the US before she was born & his friends told her he'd died in a military air crash in the US. Anyway, 2 years ago she uploaded her DNA & found she had a younger half sister living in the US. My step daughter messaged her, stressing that she had been brought up in London, was doing okay & wasn't looking for money but only connection with her birth family. This wasn't welcomed by her half sister who said she didn't want any upset in her family & wouldn't be telling her father. It's understandable as their father was married during his tour in Thailand & was still married to the same lady. So....as much as this DNA might lead to great things for your girlfriend, it might also bring her anonymous rejection and you should be prepared to support her feelings in that event.
