If you ever find yourself in Vladivostok, Russia, there's still one there.

Very nice! Food looks great in your video.
I've been to two North Korean restaurants in Dandong, China. One of them was the "typical" restaurant that had women performers singing the "Trot-style" Pop Music during the dinner. The other restaurant was a BBQ "cook your own" style. Though that was over six years ago. I found it interesting that one of the restaurants had their kim chee rolled up into a "wad". Each person gets their own wad and peels off the kim chee and eat. Never seen it served like that before. I thought the food and entertainment on my experience were great... but I've never been to the DPRK so I have no reference to compare with. These restaurants seemed popular and did have a lot of local Chinese customers.

It was! I’m sure if I ate BBQ at the BBQ restaurant it would’ve been better. And a shame the first one wasn’t open. Also wish I’d have gone at dinner time to catch a waitress show..! Nevermind.

Thank you for the food tour, due to rapid visa whiplash; it's always good to know where someone can get some Pyongyang/northern style Korean food abroad.

You should try 平壤海棠花, on Chaoyangmen near the DPRK embassy. It is supposed to be affiliated with the embassy and is frequented by North Korean diplomats (you see them arrive in their dip cars and wearing pins).

Heading to Beijing in the new year. Been wanting to try the North Korean restaurants there. Where were the two that were open? My understanding was that the main ones are in Chaoyang District?

There's one I just visited last week called 母米粥 in Beijing as well! It's not advertised as north korean run, but all of the waitresses are north korean and extremely nice. Would love to know your thoughts if you decide to go :)

@@ZoeDiscovers 朝阳门内大街 75号院佳龙酒店B座 -- sorry not quite sure what the english translation is, but considering it's chinese run with north korean waitresses, probably similar to the other ones you went to!
