- हिंदी सिनेमा के सबसे कामयाब फनकारों में मोहम्मद रफी साहब का नाम बड़े गर्व के साथ लिया जाता है...और हमेशा लिया जाता रहेगा...रफी साहब के गाने की मौसिकी और गाने के बोल को बयां करने का उनका अंदाज़ लाजवाब था...बावजूद एक दौर ऐसा आया जबकि लोगों की जुंबा पर किशोर कुमार के नग्में थिरकने लगे थे...
मोहम्मद रफी साहब और किशोर कुमार के गानों को लेकर संगीत प्रेमियों के बीच बहस छिड़ जाया करती थी...कोई कहता कि रफी साहब बड़े गायक हैं...तो कोई किशोर कुमार का हिमायती बन जाता... दोनों पक्षों के लोग एक दूसरे के खिलाफ अपशब्दों तक का इस्तेमाल करने लगते और कई मर्तबा तो नौबत मारपीट तक पहुंच जाती...लेकिन मसला था कि हल हो ही नहीं पाता था...
इसमें कोई दो मत नहीं है कि अगर उस समय के मौजूदा दौर में मोहम्मद रफी साहब या किशोर दा से ये पूछा जाता कि उन दोनों में बड़ा गायक कौन है...तो बिलाशक वो दोनों ही इंसानियत के नाते एक दूसरे का ही नाम लेते...उनकी मौजूदगी में भी ये मसला कभी नहीं सुलझता...

Kishore Kumar was a popular singer for his numbers & young generation heros in 70s.. however, Rafi Sb is all time greatest singer in the history.. the reason no one able to compete with Rafi Sb caliber because he had very rare & unique qualities which he acquired from God and God provides to those qualities only to few people in the earth at his will. I remember once a reporter asked Manna Dey to rank singers & he said 1 to no 10 belongs Rafi Sb & from 11 other singer ranking begins..that explains everything..

Lataji said in interviews that she used to tell music director to tune a song matching with range as Rafi Sb had very high range where she had difficulties to match. Rafi Sb knew that & in duets he only matched Lataji range. Many proof in different songs in male & female version. I have no idea why Msnna Dey didn't give Kishore Kumar high score on singing as they both were Bangali. Probably he judged by singing abilities..
