      I think the whole problem is modern music I hate all pop and rap music from the 2000s it’s so uninspired
      Edit: I do still hate most pop and rap but not all is terrible there a few gems that I do love such as Coldplay and Bruno Mars they use such great modern music with chord progressions and other things from before the 2000s which I love

    • @camerondrain8166
      @camerondrain8166 2 года назад +50

      Y’all are all wrong. The music you grew up was “stolen” too. Whitney Houston’s biggest song was “stolen”. Biggie and R.Kelly both made the same song and then Ashanti “stole” it 10 years later. Dancehall artists make 20 songs on the same beat. the boy R&B groups back in the 80s/90s used to “steal” New edition or Jackson 5 or temptations songs and it was their first big hit. Everyone “steals” y’all are just old and are starting to do what your parents did to you which was saying all your new movies/music/athletes are crap and my generation was better. And half of these stolen songs were hated by the people that they sampled but they either didn’t own the rights to the song so they couldn’t block it or the label kept begging and they finally gave in… but y’all still loved the songs as kids

    I think a big problem with sampling is when artists don’t credit the original artist as songwriters. They are taking something that isn’t theirs and turning it into something new without fairly crediting the original artist which usually ends with lawsuits. (Obviously not all artist do this but it’s still surprising how many do)

Most people on the vibe of so-called artists need to make fresh songs and come up with something new that can sound fascinating, don't get me wrong sample is not a bad concept of music but your favorite artists don't how to be transformative with the samples. They literally just putting voices on the older music riding the coat tail from those songs some cash grab reasons.

    I like a mix. Run dmc and Aerosmith, I been playing that for my kids since they were toddlers.

    One of the problems is artists are so quick to sue if your song sound even remotely like theirs and its ruining new songs. There is so many songs that its always going to sound like another one
