btw direct 3d9ex is not obsolete with the release of 3d11. even though 3d11 is preferred, if you get way more performance with 3d9 like i do, its recommended to stay with that

@@Stripes404 And Generations is the only game I've played that literally not allows you to enter the game if you change your resolution or refresh rate or when your device switches to cpu. Unless you remove the created configs in the game folder to reset the configurationtool
@@Stripes404 Someone even made a rewrite of the Sonic Generations ConfigurationTool to fix it. It even stops the need to get both the 64bit and 32bit version of visualc. There was also a mod to bypass the config errors without replacing the original tool, but it didn't work for me

it may be because these cutscenes are demanding so they make it prerendered like the time eater Cutscene there is so much going on the XBOX 360 and PS3 probably wouldn't have handled them, the biggest evidence is Sonic Unleashed
Mods I'd want if I had Sonic Generations PC(to update the experience)... Classic Sonic Redesign Mod, to not be that odd shade of blue. Mod to replace the Tornado in Modern Tails' mission with the Tornado-1 from Unleashed(biplane form). Planet Wisp Replacement Mod(can we all agree Planet Wisp wasn't the greatest in Generations?). Ideally, it'd combine the 3D Parts of Modern Planet Wisp with the 3D Parts of Colors Planet Wisp, and give Classic Sonic the 2D Colors stuff. Change the Time Eater to the 3DS version. New Additions: Multiple Playable Characters. Modern Metal Sonic fight. New Stages: Sunset Heights from Forces, but Without the Invasion. Empire City Kingdom Valley A mod based on Hidden World from Lost World. Modern Death Egg from Sonic Forces, with aspects of Prison Hall thrown in. Huge Crisis from Sonic Rush And Two Original Ideas my brain won't shut up about: Eggpire Zone: an Eggman stage whose color scheme consists of red, grey, and caution tape, like Iron Jungle and Press Factory Act 1. Enemies consist of Egg Pawns, Egg Flappers, and Cop Speeders but redesigned based on the Forces Egg Pawn. Island Rush Zone: a Green Hill-esque level with the above mentioned enemies. The checkered dirt is diamond patterned instead of square. There aren't any Palm Trees, Totem Poles, or Ruins. There's instead sand colored bridges and undecorated christmas trees. The grass, while still striped, is a bit darker.

I've never heard a single person complain about the PC version having issues and being better than the console versions, and the game's been out on Steam for over a decade. Something must be wrong with your computer because you're obviously full of it.
Just because you yourself have not heard or seen anyone with these issues, does not mean they don't exist. You can find pretty much every issue he listed, as well as their fixes, by doing a simple google search.
@@koopaeliminator4148 None of the issues he listed are anything unique to Generations, they're typical issues for games on PC released for older operating systems, and even then the Generations port is more stable than most. People with these issues are definitely not in the majority. Plus, the tidbit about the graphical downgrade is completely fabricated and without a source. I've looked far and wide and can't find jack shit about this. Saying it's a shoddy port is blatant misinformation. It wasn't shoddy when it released.
@@captainkappa9067 You do bring up a fair point, some of these are common amongst older PC titles. Especially the older Lego games, (though those issues are more tied to graphics). And yes, the people who experience issues like the config errors are definitely not the majority. But like I said earlier, that doesn't mean those issues don't exist, and there are fixes for them. Just gotta know where to look. As to whether or not I experience them... critical errors used to be very often on my old desktop, not so much on my new one. I had one maybe once, and it was when I installed it to said new desktop.

Am I the only one hoping there was a fix for the random stutter issues some people and me experience? My game runs a smooth 60fps but will freeze for some seconds at complete random, them resume normally. This can happen up to a hundred times in normal gameplay for an unknown reason.
