Wenn man damals mit beiden Spiegeln am Auto ins Ziel kam war man einfach zu langsam.. Heute wird doch gleich rumgeheult wenn da ein anderer Fahrer auf 2 Meter nahe ran kommt.
da hat es die fahrer nicht interesiert wie ihr auto am ende aussah sie wollten nur gewinnen.
Aber in der heutigen dtm wird immernoch mehr gekämpft als in der formel1

so sollte DTM heute auch wieder sein. 94/95 waren einfach die beiden besten Jahre der DTM EVER!
It's a Mustang that was allowed to race with special permit as it was way above the engine capacity limit of 2,5 litres.
Never ran great apart from the power demanding tracks of Norisring at Nuremberg and the AVUS at Berlin. Jürgen Feucht and the Ruch brothers always put on a show there, especially the Ruchs being from Berlin.
Das war die beste Zeit der DTM. Die Autos waren noch Bestien und die Fahrer mussten noch richtig kämpfen. In jedem Rennen sind die Fetzen geflogen. Nicht so wie heute, nur noch Mercedes und Audi und alle fahren total langweilig wie auf Schienen.

Das waren Rennen ohne viel Schnickschnack! Mann und Maschine! So wurden Rennen bestritten und gewonnen...Top , war ne schöne Zeit damals!
When I worked in TV, I was lucky to get a press invite to come along to Silverstone (not a normal venue at the time) and get a drive as passenger in either the Alfa or Merc WTCC car. Just my sodding luck, both Mercs had to be pulled in doe to overheating/coolant issues before I got a ride :( Got some amazing pics though :)
Even as a German car manufacturer fan, I must say that Alfa 155 is the most beautiful car on racetrack!
Even as a italian Alfa fan since Brilli Peri first victory i've got an Audi.
The Calibra is beautiful too!!
I love the BMW and Mercedes but my god the Alfa is a beauty

Agree with you. There are beautiful schemes, like Jagermeister one or the Warsteiner, but the Martini one it's beautiful, no matter what car has it, from the Alfa 155 to the Lancia Delta (rally) and the Porsches (Le Mans series)...

This is what happens when you put ordinary people into extraordinary cars. You get racing at its best.
Crazy cars. Alfa Romeo maybe the craziest. I still have a Tamiya model somewhere, could only afford one, agonised and in the end went for the Martini livery.
The driving back in those days are amazing - those DTM drivers were all hopping on the kerbs or holding a little slide on corner exit. "Awesome" is an understatement as to how well-done this video shows off the DTM's golden era (IMO).
The best racing series by far, old or new. DTM forever.

Sprint cup at the Glen this year was pretty exciting. People love to forget that Nascar race at some road courses.

Oh, good old times. I was about 10 years old and an absolute Opel Enthusiast. Fell in love with the Calibra driven by Keke Rosberg 💗. Also the MB C-Class Promarkt-team feels nostalgic to me. And last but not least the ugly a$$ Mustangs, driven only by privateers. What a time to be alive

This is one of the best videos I ever saw on DTM, congratulations! DTM was the best touring car championship in the world. The drivers were the best along with WTCC and BTCC, but the cars were in another level! Way better than the rest of the world!

I was just listening to radio silverstone with Dario Franchetti on it and I was amazed at how advanced these cars were at the time. This video also gives an awesome insight into the series!

I really liked your video, I believe that the ITC was the best category of cars of that time, the races were very competitive despite being very expensive to roll cage chassis and carbon fiber, having ABS brakes and traction control and a lot of technology that was banned in Formula One ...

Most chicane jumping is from the Singen circuit where they used to run a free practice late in the afternoon with low light - especially around the 1:08 mark with I believe Giancarlo Fisichella

WAAAUUUU! This brings back memories...I was a kid back then, looking forward to watch every race with my dad. Guys and cars were brutal then. Sandro and Nicola my idols. Maybe I'm very wrong but I believe it was more popular in Europe than F1 ;)

Driving those things must have been so amazing.
+SRAMEK Driving a race car is not such a big pleasure as people imagine. it is nosy, it vibrates, it genrally refuses to go in a straigh line, it really invades mercilessly all your senses and any brand character is lost because they all end up being the same rigid boxes on wheels. But yes, it can be hugely satisfying, but not in the way of "driving pleasure".
Vlad Soare Wrong mate, that exactly is the driving pleasure and really not every race car refuses to go in a straight line, vibration isn't really the case of every race car. I don't know, what you have driven, but your comment is kinda trashtalky.
My comment was general and it was not addressed to race drivers, it was more about the feeling you get the first time you switch from a normal car to a properly race-prepped one. And ok, I exaggerated a bit for artistic impression.
Current DTM is so boring in comparison to those times. Only Audi and Mercedes. It's still the best touring car series, but far away of 90's. Thanks for upload this amazing video.

At 1:08 Jurgen Feucht FORD MUSTANG. and I also love the ALFA with AGIP-MARTINI 2:01 and also Manuel Reuter 's OPEL at 1:55! Bernd Schneider at 1:24, 1993 Champ Nicola Larini's ALFA at 1:35? Whoa the Multiple wreck of 1995 that suspended the race at 2:32! Excitant video 5 Stars!

BMW M4 DTM and Opel Insignia. That'd be some serious fun. Unfortunately, up to this day, Alfa Romeo only produced small cars, but expect Alfa Romeo Giulia, an entry-level exec car which will be launched next year.
Gotta love the chicane at AVUS. On 2 wheels and sparks flying. Somethimes they will go straight over it!

@Dogman36 NASCAR only racing in ovals.... DTM is a big series of touring car....
@8188ify they also have 5 or 6 road courses they race on. they are all clockwise tracks. only the ovals are anticlockwise. common misconception it's cool.
