Aaaah the junk yard, I love the junk yard. My wife doesn’t get it. She always says “what’s at the junk yard”? I just say, possibilities, all the possibilities are what’s at the junk yard. Those of you who know get it. Peace ✌️
My buddy and I are junkyard freaks. If we saw a yj like that here in Ohio... We would have it stripped and brought out of the yard piece by piece. That stuff is valuable. Certain parts bring good money. I buy up every jeep cherokee grill/header panel I come across that's in good shape. We look for f350s for the axles and everything. I love junkyarding. Wish it was my job haha
Heck yea! There is gold in them there wrecks... if you arent afraid to get a little dirty. Our secret is Grand Cherokee tow hooks. The yard has them and the Jeepers out there in the world want them!
oh, maybe that is why i cant find one single damn xj grill or header panel in the yard.!. why do you need so many of them ? do you have a fleet of Cherokees with front end damage ?
@@CopeManMTNDEW thanks, but i might just need to finish my front axle truss and rebuild before i start worrying about the little cosmetic stuff. jeeps are very very popular in the mountains where i live so there are a bunch of them in the salvage yard but they are all picked over
Hey I just found your channel a few weeks back with you doing a vlog, but these junkyard videos are sweet as shit. Keep it up man. Just wish you were into Tacoma’s so I could easily find what to look for in a junkyard to save myself some money in the future.
Hey, thanks! Glad you are enjoying the vids. I have literally never seen a Taco in a junk yard. I think resale value is so high that regardless of how thrashed they are, someone will buy it for parts or w/e. Wranglers are usually the same way, but we have 1 yard in upstate NY which buys wranglers
Serious question, did you find the tear stained mattress in that 70's, Serial Killer van? That van must have been the luxury model, as SoCal S-K vans are windowless.
Hell yea! There is a really nice one in Hazleton, PA which might be close to half way between us (probably a bit longer for you). It is so nice and so big that we have considered getting a hotel room to do a 2 day pick out there. haha
Can my 04 wj I6 be converted to 4 wd with junkyard parts. Is the 2wd set up under neath to receive all the drivetrain parts to make the conversion. Cheers from Jacksonville Florida
It truly is. I know quite a few folks who would have given the owner more than scrap value and taken her on as a project. if D&E ever hits the lotto, we will be starting a noprofit Jeep sanctuary where old tired Jeeps can be brought instead of the the scrap yard..
I found a CJ5 in one of my local yards last year, wish here in Idaho they'd let you buy stuff off the yard like that, nope once its in the yard they can't sell the vehicle...what a load of shit....anyhow, it was in great condition, looked like someone put a new engine in it, have no idea why it was there because it would easily have fetched a few thousand bucks as it was sitting for a good project for someone.
Sad stuff, but you see it all the time. Old farmer smith dies and his idiot kids don;t realize he has been keeping that CJ5 alive since '72 and sell it to scrap for $200. I agree that folks like us should be allowed to save vehicles like that. it is just wasteful.
@@wildbill23c That is probably even more sad as it is born out of spite and not just ignorance. Either way, if anyone has an awesome old Jeeps that they want to sell for cheap, please contact D&E and we will pickup immediately!
@@DEInTheGarage old comment I know, but I'm watching some videos from before I subbed. Notice no reply? People ALWAYS telling you what to do, yet, you ask for help, (even sarcastically) and you only get crickets for a response
They only made so many perfect jeeps, all the rest have round headlights. 😂 I love my YJ. What you guys are doing is awesome. I could watch these junkyard videos for days.

HAHA.. for sure. Either you get it or you don't
I loved all my tjs with the 2.5 and manuals
I so wanted a 65 dodge van growing up. Loved the whole front end look. Just classic!
Nice junkyard gold. My parents used to have a new Yorker but it had leather seats that you just sank into so comfy
I think I have just added "Put 80's luxury sedan seats in a Jeep" to my bucket list..
D&E In The Garage haha that's awesome

@@MrMrsregor I mostly stock up on the parts bc I'd hate to see them crushed without the good parts being picked over.
Junkyards make me sad. Went for axles yesterday. Saw cj5's yjs and everything else.
It breaks my heart...

Great video
NICE ...I was at this yard last month ….sweet yard !!!!!!!!!! but its like 2 hrs from me...
Small world!

I love the junkyard too but damn bro. Prolly could have got those studs for 5 bucks from McMaster Carr...lol
You guys have such nice yards to go to. Makes me jealous!! I’m gonna have to meet up with you guys sometime to go check those ones out!

D&E In The Garage that sounds amazing! Hopefully if youtube is good to us we can make that happen next year sometime!!
#goals haha

That Jeep would have been stripped if that was in the junkyard where I live it's like gold .
You should totally do a video on cutting the car crusher in half and selling it for scrap steel
What Other vehicles injectors will fit a Jeep Cherokee X j
"Twin stick" lol
My heart flutters when I see the 2.5 . I havent driven one yet ? Have you gotten the chance and if so how bad was it lol
I had a 2.5L it was weak as water. The thing couldn’t get up to speed torque was terrible. I think that it had engine problems too though.
Good ol Vinces u pull it. I go there all the time only 20 min from me
We visit a bunch of different yards, but this is by far the best!
I've spotted a couple of my old parts cars in his videos. I live in dolgeville and it's cool to see them in video
It is a shame to see that red YJ in the scrap yard....

yes, i wish i could have bought that for my next project
Great sign off
Some of the cars in the junk yeard can be rebuild
I like my 94 xj 2.5 it has more power than my 87 toy with a 22re I wanted to see what motor was in the Yj
I think it was the 2.5. You see a lot of 2.5s in the yard
I like a 2.5
I kinda dig the chrysler fifth ave.

Or a disgruntled spouse files for divorce and sells off their husband's toys for cheap.

my 1st car was a 86 fifth ave except mine was black with red interior
Laughing my ass off, because when I saw the Fifth Ave. I thought, there's got to be a Chrysler New Yorker there too.
Right? haha
Jeeps with a 2.5 (wranglers and pioneers) are fun but have no power. My buddy couldn't even pull a burnout in his
Wow, buddy pay the $25 for a dead cat to kill the wind noise.
Will do. Can I barrow $24.50? I am a little light this month..

in the old days men wanted gauges, now they want an iphone
Sad, but true..
Good used auto parts

How do you mean?

why you breathing hard?
Crap
You never get rid of a wrangler
Even beat to death they will still bring some $ where I'm from.
I've watched a couple of your vids to to get some pulling tips. I thought I recognized that junk yard...
