The crudest radar dates back about 100 years. Radar has many other applications in the modern world, and has applications in space as well. Once a nearby astronomical body, for example, has been optically detected, radar may sometimes be used to better define its features.

Radar was patented in the USA in 1934. The magnetron was not invented in Britain, but the cavity magnetron was. Microwave radar was invented in the USA by what became known as the Rad Lab at MIT, using the cavity magnetron.
You sad that the nazis never landed on British soil which is not true they actually took over a British island called gurneys (I think I spelled that wrong)
uk was basically a cornered fox during that period- nazis and co ate all of continental europe. naturally the uk could turn to the us for their manufacturing capability cooperation was easier since they are fighting a common threat
Germans even used phased array antennas (Mammut). Germans considered primitive Fnglish radar useless. That‘s they reason why they did not even bomb it !
Parts of the plane have already been found. The motive of the tragedy was derpession of a pilot who just divorced, by the way ( other pilot had only a few weeks of commercial flying )
@@digitalpetor I'm not sure about the captain's divorce, but the first officer was also very experienced, with much more than a few weeks of experience

Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and Sark.
Here's to Robert Watson-Watt!
Too bad his last name was Watson-Watt...they could have named a electrical term after him. As it is...it would only cause confusion.
How did US get hold of UK's radar tech??.. They were allies but still at that time such a technology must have been considered state secret.
The UK gave U.S radar technology in exchange for access to related American secrets and manufacturing capabilities thus creating the Tizard mission

But the news says airplanes are scary!
Rip MH370. Hopefully they did not simply disappeared on the radar, but rather accidentally travel through a worm hole to the future
