Just when I think I can’t love Bret Michaels anymore (or more than I did when I had a poster of Poison on my wall circa 1988), he goes and adopts a dog, named Bret Michaels, that helped save the life of a kitten, after hearing about the story via a rescue group's social media page and via his sister who lives in the area (apparently). So far, it appears Mr Michaels has only slightly altered the 6-year-old husky's name to Brett Jr. Thank you so much for adopting a 6-year-old dog and for helping find that very lucky kitten a home, sir! 🥰 Now, please get down here to Australia sometime, please and thank you 😊
I was 17 when this song came out in 1986. It was the decade of debauchery and decadence and it still surprises me that I made it out alive and more or less in one piece.
No, we didn't! we've been told by the millennials and snowflakes that we just don't understand! There right, we don't understand them! We would work all week to score enough money to get tickets, with enough to spare for a couple of hits and the booze, bumming a ride halfway across the country and still make it back to work for Monday! Half in the bag, not remembering either trip, but scared shitless that if the old man found out, we were f$cked for next weekend! And still i look at my kids and their friends and think, PUSSIES!
I was only 7 being born in 79 and while hair metal isn't really my thing (mostly into punk and if I'm going to listen to metal, it's usually thrash metal) I do all the same miss a lot about the 80's and seeing these videos on MTV when they still actually utilized the M in the name I genuinely miss.
Poison is the complete package. Any band that can put out music thats still feel good relevant music 40 years later says it all. Their videos are still fun to watch with all their energy and on stage presence still works. ❤
I would love to see Poison. If I had driven 4-5 hours I could have on the stadium tour last year. However, I got to see Bret on his Parti-Gras tour this year and he was absolutely amazing. He opened his set with this. Felt like I was back in college watching MTV.
I was in class when my friend Robbie came by my desk and showed me this cassette, '' Dude! Check these guys out, they are called Poison, they just came out!'' We listened to that cassette for days!!
The eighties was all about a good time. The world was good in a young man's mind. You are either pissed off or just wanting to have a good time and the good time was usually with a girl. Fast forward to 2021 and we are all just pissed off and bitter about every fucking thing. I saw a documentary done on hair bands once and they were talking about how nobody ever talks about the music, just what hair bands looked like and they were doing clips of guys saying stuff and he said, "nobody knows I trained under Isak Pearlman." Like the guy was musically talented it's just nobody takes this stuff seriously. Don't know why, I'd say these hair bands were all more talented than shit done today. My parents were the strictest in my small town but they would let me go to any concert with people they had never met and I never ever understood that but never said a word. Memphis is 2 hours from my home and I saw just about every hair band you can think of between 1987&1991. Saw these pros twice and would go again. Your right we were fortunate enough to grow up in the era of the best rock 'n' roll bands ever. I love my rock n roll
Funny how when we were young, we wanted to grow up. Now years later, we want to go back and never leave those times. Young people, don't be in a rush to get older. Trust me, enjoy those youthful years thoroughly and don't waste them on bad people and things. Savor those moments. You'll want them back later.

I used to talk some shit about Poison when i turned into thrash metal. But one time i got to see them for free , and let me tell you the show was great , lots of fun , they have a lot of hit songs, i would see them again . You got to love bands that play live 100%, no playback of holograms
i used to get shit-talked for being a huge glam fan back then, i had a hat that said "heavy metal" on it and all the "real" rockers, you know, f'in' posers like you ;) , used to haze me for it... they were just mad 'cause my favorite band was prettier than theirs... and most of you have come around by now, this stuff was great...
I have to imagine nobody “directed” it because there is no cohesive theme to it. They just got drunk and shot several passes of the whole song, and then later someone edited different clips from different takes together to make what you see here.
I had tons of poison posters on my wall boy I loved the hair bands I miss wearing my rock tee, blue Jean skirt and cowboy boots and high hair good times
80's so hit it with ROCK. Hell, the 80's hit it with most all genres of music.......I was so fortunate to be late teens and early twenties in the 80's to really enjoy it to the max.
Graduated HS in 86, this album was released around the same time, great from front to back. Funny seems like yesterday. Time is sneaky scary fast. 80's great time to be young. Peace.......
I saw them in the early 2000s in Denver with my son who was 8. It was them between Cheap Trick who opened and Def Leppard and it was the same energy level as this video.
If you like this song, that's a good indication that your heart is beating and you are alive! Music like this never gets old. I was 12 when this song came out. I am now 47, and I still sing loud and proud when this song plays. Also, you absolutely know you're watching a Poison music video when the guitarist crams as many guitars as humanly possible into 1 song.
CC Deville's guitar collection is just insane. The fact that he still has a working GMP V series is like one of the biggest flexes out there (I want that guitar).
I seen this concert back in the day. Poison and Ratt back to back. This is when style and music became one in art! God! I wish I could grow my hair out like that again!
Always believe that Poison were largely underrated in the music fraternity. This brought memories of big hair and partying to Poison. Thanks for the memories xx
@@MKSBEMAholy shit just came back years later to see all the upvotes this got. I was 6 in 1990 (84 baby) already liking my 20 year old babysitters. No wonder I still like cougars now despite being middle aged myself
I was born in 91 and missed out on all these hair bands until I just recently just went to a concert with Joan Jett, Poison, Motley Crue, and Def Leppard. I absolutely love this music.
This video just screams 1980s... from their antics, to Bobby Dall's neon green BC Rich Warlock bass, to the Jolly Roger hanging from Bret Michaels' microphone, this video is a prime example why 1987 was the most 1980s year of the 1980s...
Takes me back to my junior year of high school. Racing around in my buddy’s lifted Dodge Ramcharger. Those were really carefree, fun days. Almost an adult, but not expected to assume the trappings of adult life. I really miss that time in my life.
I wanted to see them in concert so bad when I was younger and still at 42 I would love u see them. Never been to a concert in my life and that shows how busy I am on a daily basis. Every time I hear this song though it takes me back to how many times I’d rewatch this video over & over again🌹🥰this is one of my favorites of theirs💯
Meloni and LuAnn backstage at the Poison Concert in West Palm Bch. I'll bet they'd NEVER forgot about us Mel, HUH. Brett was so cute, and really happy to be used as a personal ladder that pm. There were many backstage nights Mel, but this one was the best. Miami Vice party's at 2Club 2130, with Don Johnson, and Phillip Michael Thomas, and George Michael was at our table. The best part was it was INVITATION ONLY, and we were INVITED!!!! Those were the days of Mel, and Lu's Adventures!🎉❤
I'll never forget the day I met them in person...I was working at BurgerKing in Tulsa, OK and their bus pulled into our parking lot and they all got out and it was empty inside, they had come inside and I of course knew who they were and only one other person did as well. I wish like hell I had a cell phone way back then!! I got all their autographs on the first thing I could grab which was a bag I was so excited and the guys were SO great about it all and didnt mind at all that I asked for it after I had asked for their autographs! They were all very polite and smiling and everything and not rude at all like some of the rumors you hear sometimes. I sure wish I could find it but then come to find out the exhusband had thrown it away in a fit of rage thinking that I had been cheating on him, but that was a man who had won a CD player from a Christmas drawing yet did not know what a CD was. I had to explain it. DAMMIT I wish I still had it.....the bag that is. I would love to have all those signatures again --- would LOVE to see them all again!
I make videos about color theory and I can never get over how well poison used green and purple in their early era. That electric green bass on the predominantly purple stage lighting is so iconic.
You know I never I never seen you look so good You never act the way you should But I like it And I know you like it too The way that I want you I gotta have you Oh yes, I do You know I never I never ever stay out late You know that I can hardly wait Just to see you And I know you cannot wait Wait to see me too I gotta touch you [Chorus] Cause baby we'll be At the drive-in In the old man's Ford Behind the bushes Till I'm screaming for more Down the basement Lock the cellar door And baby Talk dirty to me You know I call you I call you on the telephone I'm only hoping that you're home So I can hear you When you say those words to me And whisper so softly I gotta hear you [Chorus] C.C. pick up that guitar and talk to me [Chorus x2]
Great music! Have killer memories from dancing at the bar to this song long ago! The best rock songs are the ones like this where memories were created! The 70's and 80's were the greatest years and times of all. Now this song reminds me of someone I once dated....so here's to you, James T., wherever you may be!
I am a serious metal head. I love Judas Priest, Iron maiden (especially the Paul Di'anno days), Black sabbath, Motorhead, Pantera and all the other Heavy bands. But I am not ashamed to say that I love Poison too. Is that bad? Hahaha
When this came out, none of us "true" metalheads would ever admit to liking it, but we all secretly did. Looking back, I would trade 100 of today's bands (of any genre) for any 80's-era Poison, RATT or Dokken.
+Hiroshi13 Don't put Dokken in the same league like this garbage...George Lynch's got more talent on his own than Poison all together! It's like comparing White Lion and the mighty Van Halen!!!I'm 44 now,and at 14 i knew that bands like Motley Puke,Poison and shit like that were just a bunch of "manufactured boys bands holding guitars" lolHi from France :)
Poison's Look What The Cat Dragged In album is the perfect example of why it's 100% acceptable to judge a book, or in this case, an album by its cover. I was perusing the racks in Our Price back in 1986 and knew, just from how the band looked (esp. Bobby Dall
I first time saw Poison was in a hole-in-the-wall club in Anaheim, CA. I think a friend's band was opening for them. They took the stage, and opened with Smokin' in the Boys Room. Right away, we knew these guys were going somewhere. This was shortly before Motley Crue's Theater of Pain album came out--I get the sense that the Crue liked what Poison was doing with Smokin', and remade it as their own before Poison got a record deal. The next them I saw them was at the Troubador a few weeks later. David Lee Roth was sitting alone at the bar at the front of the place. Poison had grown by leaps and bounds in a very short time. The place was packed and rockin'! They came back to the OC, and played the Golden Bear. For whatever reason, we didn't have enough money to get in, but we ran into the band at the Jack-in-the-Box a few doors down on PCH. They were totally down to Earth, and spent some time chatting with us, telling the story of how they drove from PA to play the LA scene. I saw them once more just after their album came out, but never saw them in an arena. Good times and big hair!
I remember seeing this song on mtv In new Zealand back in the day.I was instantly hooked, bough the cassette and thrashed the he'll out of it.Thanks for coming to play in nz In 89.Great memories.
Y'all if you own a guitar you have no excuse not to learn this song. It's so easy, and so fun. That long pick slide in the beginning gets me every time
@@harryhoffer9804 no lie, I played guitar hero before I learned real guitar and the skills 100% carry over. If you play on expert mode, get a real axe and try it out. Your picking and fretting hands already moving independently give you an insane leg up

Went to their concert tour ‘Look What the Cat Dragged In’ in LA 1986. I was 14 with my 15yrs old friend who’s 17 yrs old sister dated Poison’s ex drummer who took us back stage. It was amazing to see them there in their glam gear, all so cool, although we all were dressed like that with big hair and crazy make up 😂 Wish I could go back in time and experience it again. At the time it seemed just so normal 😂
I just saw them Friday night here in SoCal, kicking off the new tour. Came in about half way through Cheap Trick - they were great. Robin can still sing pretty well. Poison kicked ass, Big Time. Bret is still a great front man. So glad we went. Go to this tour, you will not be disappointed.
@@CelebFactsQuotes Yeah, there is some influence from the New York Dolls “Personality Crisis” throughout the song by Poison. This, however, is a lot cleaner, which is my preference.

In the old man's Ford
Behind the bushes
'Til I'm screaming for more
Down the basement
Lock the cellar door
And baby
Talk dirty to me
You know I call you
I call you on the telephone
I'm only hoping that you're home
So I can hear you
When you say those words to me
And whisper so softly
I gotta hear you
'Cause baby we'll be

Behind the bushes
'Til I'm screaming for more
Down the basement

No dude it wasn't secondary it was top notch
I used to talk some shit about Poison when i turned into thrash metal. But one time i got to see them for free , and let me tell you the show was great , lots of fun , they have a lot of hit songs, i would see them again . You got to love bands that play live 100%, no playback of holograms
i used to get shit-talked for being a huge glam fan back then, i had a hat that said "heavy metal" on it and all the "real" rockers, you know, f'in' posers like you ;) , used to haze me for it... they were just mad 'cause my favorite band was prettier than theirs... and most of you have come around by now, this stuff was great...
Did it hurt turning into thrash metal? I'm just curious because I was born thrash metal. 1983.
Poison has a great version of Dead Flowers. They sound more like the Stones than the Stones did on it.
Whoever directed this video is a genius
I have to imagine nobody “directed” it because there is no cohesive theme to it.
They just got drunk and shot several passes of the whole song, and then later someone edited different clips from different takes together to make what you see here.
Technically they paid for it out of pocket because their first single didnt hit on mtv. They won in the long run @allthecommonsense
Absolutely,fantastic glamster for life
Southern rockers r listening 😁🎧🤕🎧 in 2024❤😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉😢😢😢😢😮😮😅 get over it 😭😄👿🪓 tomorrow is another day 😁😁😁
Thank you. It was fun
I had tons of poison posters on my wall boy I loved the hair bands I miss wearing my rock tee, blue Jean skirt and cowboy boots and high hair good times

How are you doing today?
Nice meeting you here
80's so hit it with ROCK. Hell, the 80's hit it with most all genres of music.......I was so fortunate to be late teens and early twenties in the 80's to really enjoy it to the max.
Wayne Johnson me too but I LOVE 70's and 90's music too! Three of the best decades for music. 70's-90's!! 💙

Poison always delivered simple tunes, but compared to what's mainstream now, almost every Poison song is a masterpiece.

2:38 One of the best guitar solos in human history! Sucha blast from the past!
The best video in the world!
I was in high school 1988 wen heard this song.
Obviously you weren't in English class
CC DeVille is underrated, he's amazing.
And also, I saw them live a little while back and I can confirm that this is exactly what it was like. 10/10.
Did you see Poison when they toured with DL and Tesla almost two years ago?
I saw them in the early 2000s in Denver with my son who was 8. It was them between Cheap Trick who opened and Def Leppard and it was the same energy level as this video.
@@guymorris1963 I have never seen Poison yet, damn I missed them while they were on the Def Leppard two years ago
Vito gratta( whitelion) is much better so far.
Apparently they are touring this year with DL and MC and Joan Jet - this time I will see them!
I know what you mean! I was 13 and the 80's were and will always be the best. ♥️
CC Deville's guitar collection is just insane. The fact that he still has a working GMP V series is like one of the biggest flexes out there (I want that guitar).
52 still love it
I was 24 when this song released.
I'm 48 now and just heard this twice this week. Never gets old.
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here.
When I was a kid I had some hot babysitters who loved Poison and other hair bands, so it'll always be some of the coolest music to me!
A lot going on with this comment

We ALL had a hot babysitter who was into hair metal back then, Im pretty sure in the 80's it was federal law to have that babysitter.
@@MKSBEMAholy shit just came back years later to see all the upvotes this got. I was 6 in 1990 (84 baby) already liking my 20 year old babysitters. No wonder I still like cougars now despite being middle aged myself
Love Poison! Looks like they had a blast making that video. 80s were good times!!
OMG, the memories....Rock City in Nottingham on a Saturday night back in the 80's...where did all those years go?
Hello how are you doing it’s really nice meeting you here.
I was born in 91 and missed out on all these hair bands until I just recently just went to a concert with Joan Jett, Poison, Motley Crue, and Def Leppard. I absolutely love this music.
It's never too late, man!
Born in 01’ I saw them out in San Antonio. Solid 10 out of 10!
1991 wasn't a bad year to be born in. It may not have been like the 80s, but a lot of timeless rock classics still came out around that time.
would you look at that. we're both named john and we both went to the same concert. awesome. where did you see them btw? i saw them in LA
Wow what a line up! Where did you see this?
What an awesome video!!!I freakin love it when you can tell the band had a blast making the video.80’s for life🤘🏻
freakin love it when you can tell the band is on cocaine at the video shoot.
@@jondunmore4268 well that’s obvious, it is an 80’s hair metal band lol
This video just screams 1980s... from their antics, to Bobby Dall's neon green BC Rich Warlock bass, to the Jolly Roger hanging from Bret Michaels' microphone, this video is a prime example why 1987 was the most 1980s year of the 1980s...
I need them ❗️
Takes me back to my junior year of high school.
Takes me back to when I had my "guy friends Terry and Brian"

Great story!!

King of King Queen 👑 👸
I make videos about color theory and I can never get over how well poison used green and purple in their early era. That electric green bass on the predominantly purple stage lighting is so iconic.
You know I never
I never seen you look so good
You never act the way you should
But I like it
And I know you like it too
The way that I want you
I gotta have you
Oh yes, I do
You know I never
I never ever stay out late
You know that I can hardly wait
Just to see you
And I know you cannot wait
Wait to see me too
I gotta touch you
[Chorus]
Cause baby we'll be
At the drive-in
In the old man's Ford
Behind the bushes
Till I'm screaming for more
Down the basement
Lock the cellar door
And baby
Talk dirty to me
You know I call you
I call you on the telephone
I'm only hoping that you're home
So I can hear you
When you say those words to me
And whisper so softly
I gotta hear you
[Chorus]
C.C. pick up that guitar and talk to me
[Chorus x2]

When this came out, none of us "true" metalheads would ever admit to liking it, but we all secretly did. Looking back, I would trade 100 of today's bands (of any genre) for any 80's-era Poison, RATT or Dokken.

Poison's Look What The Cat Dragged In album is the perfect example of why it's 100% acceptable to judge a book, or in this case, an album by its cover. I was perusing the racks in Our Price back in 1986 and knew, just from how the band looked (esp. Bobby Dall
Definitely one of those amazing bands from the fabulous 80s .. how much I miss those days
and one of the most amazing guitarist ever "cc deville" i say one of the greatest guitarist that has ever lived
Oh man, these were the best days!!! I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s. Best music eras ever! Forever & always 🤘🏼🥰

Awesome! They remind me of The New York Dolls and the song is similar to NYD's "Personality Crisis" from 1973.
1987 or 88 they hit so hard. All of us young people partied our asses off to it. It was a time that was one a kind.Damn it was good times.
