Alright, i finally listened to this one again, and if i'm right, here is the timeline of the video, for anyone who finds it or just wants to listen to it again; 1:02:27 Oliver Stone's original Conan the Barbarian script 1:52:28 Roy Thomas and Gerry Conway's original Conan the Destroyer script 2:30:40 Unproduced Conan 3 treatments/scripts by Karl Edward Wagner 2:34:00 Original Conan the Conqueror script by Charles Edward Pogue (before it was re-written into Kull the Conqueror) 3:00:12 John Milius's unproduced King Conan - Crown of Iron script (It seems something is missing from this part of the video...) 3:28:53 John Milius's rare (private?) second draft/re-write of unproduced King Conan - Crown of Iron script. Note; Besides Wachowskis, Robert Rodriguez also did a re-write of the script (thanks for info Bruce!). 3:41:00 Unproduced Conan 2: A Witch Shall Be Born script by Dirk Blackman and Howard McCain (sequel to reboot)
Great work as always with this episode of screenplay archaeology! Stone's script for first film was indeed very weird one in lot of parts, to say the least, and what Millus did with it later sure did made it better. If only he filmed all the other sequels like they were planning to do. It was interesting to hear all the stuff about other scripts, and yes, there should have been lot more movies about Conan, but most of all, GOOD Conan movies.
That sounds like a good plan. I'd need to get the complete Conan collection book and have a look. What was the name of the story you mentioned near the end that could be a film with only minor changes? Lol Columbia couldn't keep up production lol
I think it was People of the Black Circle. Look for the three volume set put out by Del Rey and Wandering Star, they have the most original text based version.

Thanks, this was before I started doing the time stamps myself.

Some of those Conan short stories/Novella's would make great Conan films in themselves.
and God how much Coke was Stone on? lmao
Yes, you could take the general arc of say, Rogues in the House, and beef it up with bits from other stories and new material to make a film.
ALL of the coke. More than Tony Montana had on his desk.

Well we've got the next two Conan films sorted then lol
Will do :)
