    That's a cool idea, but I can't help wondering:
    1) How long is that red main gear from the hand drill going to last, as I'm pretty sure they're only made from cast metal, which is a lot softer than real gear steel. And why did you not clean out the wheel bearing and re-grease it, especially after all that heat from welding?
    2) How long is the drill chuck expected to stay tightened onto the drive shaft with all the high-speed vibration.
    3) Why does the engine not stall when the wheel stops? Does it have a built-in automatic clutch?

      Also, the gears around the wheel's hub must be covered, otherwise the dust will thicken that grease.

    • @ericd-f1i
      @ericd-f1i 4 months ago +7

      1a - Cast iron may be ok in a low-torque application, and anyway a whole new drill is cheaper than a new chain and freewheel sprocket set. 1b - focus was the conversion, not maintenance, but no welding was done near the wheel bearing.... welded part was threaded onto hub after.
      2 - Drill chuck definitely a weak point, but other options are there.
      3. Centrifugal clutch was clearly shown.
      The gear ratio here is way too high for a bicycle's long-circumference wheel, so while it'll move forward, the centrifugal clutch will never be able to engage fully and will probably overheat, that''s the main design problem here.
      To everyone speaking of efficiency of shafts vs chains, you are missing the point!!! A gear-drive is a nice neat setup, and many modern motorbikes have used them. If efficiency were the goal, he would not have put an internal combustion engine on it!!!😂

    • @frankdodson3534
      @frankdodson3534 4 months ago +1

      Yes there is a centrifugal clutch like a weed eater and or chainsaw watch it again and pay a little bit more attention not trying to be a wise guy just saying? And as bin said in the comments it won't last very long any way the parts are not designed for high speeds.

      Bereits um 1890 meldeten Charles Linley und John Biggs in England Patente für den Kardanantrieb am Fahrrad an. Die amerikanische Firma League verwendete ab 1894 den Kardanantrieb bei Fahrrädern, und in Europa folgten große Hersteller bald. Die Technologie galt als elegant und fortschrittlich. Die Gründe, warum der Kardanantrieb gescheitert ist: Hoher technischer Aufwand und hohe Produktionskosten machten kardangetriebene Fahrräder deutlich teurer als Kettenräder. Das höhere Gewicht und der etwas geringere Wirkungsgrad gegenüber dem Kettenantrieb sorgten für Nachteile bei der Effizienz.
      Die Integration von Gangschaltungen (außer Nabenschaltung) war schwierig bis unmöglich.
      Ishimaru Bicycles wird nirgendwo als Hersteller von Fahrrädern genannt; das Unternehmen gibt es also gar nicht. Möglicherweise ist das Maruishi Cycle Ltd. gewesen, doch die bauen schon seit gut 25 Jahren keine Fahrräder mehr mit Kardanantrieb. Die letzten Hinweise auf Fahrräder mit Kardanantrieb stammen von anderen Marken wie aktivelo oder von Gebrauchtangeboten, aber Ishimaru taucht in den aktuellen Markt- und Produkthinweisen nicht als Anbieter solcher Bikes auf.
      Die Produktion der Yamaha Mate mit Kardanantrieb begann um 1973 und dauerte nur wenige Jahre - etwa bis Ende der 1970er Jahre, bevor Yamaha komplett auf Kettenantriebe und danach auf elektrische Unterstützungssysteme beim sogenannten PAS-Ebike-System (ab 1993) umstieg.
      Außerdem war das Mate ein motorunterstütztes Fahrrad, während andere Fahrräder nur mit Muskelkraft bewegt wurden. Das Mate fällt aus dem Grund also raus.

      Effizienz besteht aus zwei Punkten: Kraftübertragung und Haltbarkeit des Antriebs. Und da steht der Zahnriemenantrieb ganz weit vorne, denn vom Antrieb her liegen Kette und Zahnriemen gleichauf. Doch wenn es um die Haltbarkeit von Ritzelsatz + Kette geht oder im Vergleich dazu den Zahnriemen, wird das wesentlich deutlicher:
      Ketten und Zahnkränze müssen nach 1500 - 2500 km ausgetauscht werden, weil sie verschlissen sind. Ein Zahnkranz für das Hinterrad und Kette kosten zusammen ca. 250,- €; ein Zahnriemen kostet zwischen 70 - 100,- €.
      Ein Zahnriemen hält bei guter Pflege bis zu 50.000 km und mehr. Das heißt, dass man für die gleiche Kilometerleistung 5000,- - 8.250,- € für die Verschleißteile bezahlen muss, um dieselbe Laufleistung zu schaffen. Dabei sind noch nicht einmal die Arbeitskosten in der Fahrradwerkstatt berücksichtigt. Der Zahnriemen ist zudem nahezu wartungsfrei, während man mit dem Kettenantrieb ständig etwas machen muss; und sei es nur die Kette zu spannen.
      Von Effizienz kann beim Kettenantrieb also nicht mehr die Rede sein.

    마찰에의한 손실이 크고 동력전달효율이 나쁜 구조입니다.
    기어의 마찰과 마모가 편중이되어서 수명도 짧을 수 밖에 없습니다.

      @inventorK20 so all the motorcycle manufacturers and engineers over the past 100 years have never thought of utilising this drive train before?

      The idea is silly and was thought of but dirrect drive gives no way to adjust power to different conditions, such as cycling up hill. The gear system works like a ratcheting system which gives a consistent drive from the pedals.

      @inventorK20It's called a dirrect drive moterbike and you definitely are not the first to think or it. The reason chain is use is it creates more revolutions to the wheel through leverage and there for is about 100x more powerful and faster then dirrect drive.

      You only prove that you don'[t know what you are talking about either. Its creative Its not next level he made a heavier slower bike after 2 days work. Try watching Olympic bike racing or Mountain bike racing they are using 18 - 27 speed bikes to go up and down hills faster. thats why racing bikes still use chains and dirailers it his system worked he could sell it for $10.000 per bicycle. Wake up!

      Was ist denn an dieser Konstruktion genial? Es ist ganz sicher nicht genial, ein Stück aus einer Strebe herauszuschneiden, weil die Stabilität damit extrem geschwächt wird und der Bruch des Rahmens vorprogrammiert ist. Es ist auch ganz bestimmt nicht genial, Bauteile, die man verschweißt, nicht präzise ausrichtet. Dazu kommt, dass der »Kardan« ohne Schaltung nur eine lächerliche Geschwindigkeit erreicht. Der ganze Aufwand ist völlig sinnfrei. Besser wäre es gewesen, die Kette wieder aufzuziehen und die Kette richtig zu spannen.
      Das hier ist ein riesengroßer Unsinn!

      @JamesBond-ib9tq Oder ein Fahrrad mit Zahnriemenantrieb, das nicht einmal Strom benötigt. Außerdem sind die meisten E-Fahrräder viel zu schwer, was sich dann bemerkbar macht, wenn man ohne Unterstützung fahren muss. Und wenn man sich dann noch die Preise ansieht, kann man sich besser 3 neue Fahrräder kaufen, denn die bekommt man ganz bestimmt dafür - und zwar richtig gute.

      Its the gear Ratios that matters we invent all kinds of trams missions to give acceleration or higher speed because humans have a limit to how the can do work. Racing bicycles would use a different system if it was better look at the Olympics those bicycles cost over $10,000 they would have gears if they worked better, The One thing they do is make bicycles lighter and high pressure tires.
