That's a cool idea, but I can't help wondering: 1) How long is that red main gear from the hand drill going to last, as I'm pretty sure they're only made from cast metal, which is a lot softer than real gear steel. And why did you not clean out the wheel bearing and re-grease it, especially after all that heat from welding? 2) How long is the drill chuck expected to stay tightened onto the drive shaft with all the high-speed vibration. 3) Why does the engine not stall when the wheel stops? Does it have a built-in automatic clutch?
1a - Cast iron may be ok in a low-torque application, and anyway a whole new drill is cheaper than a new chain and freewheel sprocket set. 1b - focus was the conversion, not maintenance, but no welding was done near the wheel bearing.... welded part was threaded onto hub after. 2 - Drill chuck definitely a weak point, but other options are there. 3. Centrifugal clutch was clearly shown. The gear ratio here is way too high for a bicycle's long-circumference wheel, so while it'll move forward, the centrifugal clutch will never be able to engage fully and will probably overheat, that''s the main design problem here. To everyone speaking of efficiency of shafts vs chains, you are missing the point!!! A gear-drive is a nice neat setup, and many modern motorbikes have used them. If efficiency were the goal, he would not have put an internal combustion engine on it!!!😂
Yes there is a centrifugal clutch like a weed eater and or chainsaw watch it again and pay a little bit more attention not trying to be a wise guy just saying? And as bin said in the comments it won't last very long any way the parts are not designed for high speeds.
Just the fun in creating something from bits and pieces of other things is worth it. I would love to have time to spend in my garage coming up with Frankenstein creations.

Helloooo. This gear type already existed 100yrs back but the chain concept won the commercial use. I hope it makes a come back but it probably won't because it last longer with less maintenance.
You’re absolutely right! 💡 Chain drives are still more efficient than shaft drives, usually around 95-98% efficiency, while shafts sit around 90-92%. But shafts are cleaner and more durable - each has its own strengths! 🔧
*To have creative ability is a big part of being a genius. To see things others do not see and turn them into a working motor cycle is incredible! This young man turned his dream into reality using nothing but his skills. Well done!*
How long would those gears last , they weren't designed to go that speed & all the dirt getting on them i think they would last as long as a chain .still well done for the creation

Or make it like most electric bikes on the roads these days that have BOTH options. Electric power AND regular pedal power. When the battery is flat you can still pedal it home if you have to.
Poor people’s ingenuity is greater than NASA … because it focuses on the earth and its inhabitants ! These young men have accomplished more with trash than most people with …cash ?
Wrong!! He could have just put the chain back on the Bicycle and learned how to shift gears properly .That would have been cheaper. Derailleur shift systems are the best for humans on bicycles. Ill race him on My mountain bike and I will win because 21 speeds shifting is better than than one speed'
@SurferNorm6360nobody uses 21speed gears anymore! Your bike must be vintage! Lol,, this is just fun to show what can be done and to make a RUclips video!
@SurferNorm6360maybe you don’t build things ? The bike isn’t a racing bike ! It was an invention and trying something different….I would rather have them building bicycles and not committing crimes ?
The Drill drive on back?? Will last all of? One ride.. What? Metal on metal No bushings No bearings Consider what it's designed for? Low speed, unsustained low revolution, temporary use.
Thank you! 🌟 You’re right - with proper engineered components, the bike would be much stronger and more reliable. I’ll keep learning to live up to that “young engineer” compliment!
@inventorK20 so all the motorcycle manufacturers and engineers over the past 100 years have never thought of utilising this drive train before? 😂😂😂😂 How long do you think that set up will last compared to the chain and sprocket drive?
The idea is silly and was thought of but dirrect drive gives no way to adjust power to different conditions, such as cycling up hill. The gear system works like a ratcheting system which gives a consistent drive from the pedals.
after the precision welding,, i skiped to see why he destroyed the frame integrity,, then i realise he put a motor,, damn,, i skiped again to see if it actualy run,, i bet in the last scene, there was a friend that pushed himself bcz no more theets was left on that poor theethed wheel ,,i saved at least 10 min, lol OMG
@inventorK20It's called a dirrect drive moterbike and you definitely are not the first to think or it. The reason chain is use is it creates more revolutions to the wheel through leverage and there for is about 100x more powerful and faster then dirrect drive.
@MDZzzzz it was doung fine for what it was intended to do, not destroying an otherwise decen bike into junk when he hits a bump, pops his pigion shit non existant welds, bends the frane beyond use and probably seriously injures himself for all his trouble. Darwin award future winner here.
You only prove that you don'[t know what you are talking about either. Its creative Its not next level he made a heavier slower bike after 2 days work. Try watching Olympic bike racing or Mountain bike racing they are using 18 - 27 speed bikes to go up and down hills faster. thats why racing bikes still use chains and dirailers it his system worked he could sell it for $10.000 per bicycle. Wake up!
Interessante a criatividades desse Inventor.
Thank you so much for your honest opinion! 🙏 I totally understand your point - sometimes, what’s truly “worth it” isn’t the cost, but the creativity and the learning along the way. ❤️
Its the gear Ratios that matters we invent all kinds of trams missions to give acceleration or higher speed because humans have a limit to how the can do work. Racing bicycles would use a different system if it was better look at the Olympics those bicycles cost over $10,000 they would have gears if they worked better, The One thing they do is make bicycles lighter and high pressure tires.
Exactly! 😄 Japan has been ahead for a long time with shaft-drive systems - durable, clean, and almost maintenance-free. I’m just trying to make a DIY version of it! 🔧🇯🇵
In the 60s and 70s everything in the USA was made in Japan ! Now everything is made in China ! What happens is the people start wanting more money to buy a house and a car. It will happen in China next !
I’ve experimented with similar small engines, and throttle-cable routing is always tricky you handled it neatly. This build shows solid mechanical intuition.
Thank you so much! I know exactly what you mean-setting up throttle cables on tiny engines is always tricky 😅. I’m glad you liked the way I handled it and appreciated the mechanical intuition!
And how long before the plastic gearing wears out? I think you should’ve chosen a metal ratchet, which would lasted a lot longer. Ingenious idea though.
The kid is innovative and not afraid to try amidst people shaming him. I'm not too proud to admit I wouldn't have thought to use a hand drill that way.

I mean nasa has nothing to di with bikes anyways
The first bicycles didn't have chains. They were gear driven OVER 100 YEARS AGO.
This clearly misses the point of a bicycle.
Unless you are third world and the point is transportation!! 😂
Stay in your bubble
@andrewwalker7439 ????????
Totally agree. That thing was already invented hundreds of years ago called "motor-bike" 😂
Adding an engine to a bicycle turns it from a ‘fitness bike’ into a ‘motorized sports bike’ 🤣
Then adding another two wheels turns it into a car.😜
I would have just put the chain back on the sprocket and went on about my day
You’re absolutely right! 😂 Just put the chain back and done! But if we never try, how would we know the limits of creativity, right? 😎🚀

3) Why does the engine not stall when the wheel stops? Does it have a built-in automatic clutch?

Also, the gears around the wheel's hub must be covered, otherwise the dust will thicken that grease.

Thank you! Haha yes, this prototype was so slow you could almost walk beside it! 😆🚶♂️
@inventorK20It's called a dirrect drive moterbike and you definitely are not the first to think or it. The reason chain is use is it creates more revolutions to the wheel through leverage and there for is about 100x more powerful and faster then dirrect drive.
@inventorK20No worries, keep up the good work
Very creative use of parts that were available at the time!
That's a "wheel-brace" !!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
It wasn't just part it was a manual drill! Who would have thought an invention 100s of years old served a purpose in the 2020's
@SuperDominic6767 100s of years old ?
@MDZzzzz it was doung fine for what it was intended to do, not destroying an otherwise decen bike into junk when he hits a bump, pops his pigion shit non existant welds, bends the frane beyond use and probably seriously injures himself for all his trouble. Darwin award future winner here.
I saw on aliexpress some nice 2-stroke petrol engine conversion kits for bicycles. No welding required.
Saludos 👋
Buena idea bro 👍
Soy del estado de Zacatecas en México 🙋♂️
Hello my friend! So happy to have a viewer from Zacatecas, Mexico! 😄 Thanks for the support - don’t forget to subscribe for more creative ideas!
that pulling in the end completely destroyed this video 😄
Cycle is more powerful than your engine 😂😂😂😂
Genius hack - respect to the maker for turning a simple bike into something next-level!
Wake up!
only if a piece of junk is considered "next level"
Ich bezweifele sehr die Haltbarkeit dieser Konstruktion.🥺👎
Got to admire your talent for this project, England
Thank you so much for your kind words! 🙏 I really appreciate your support and hope to bring even more creative projects in the future.
So you ruined a hand drill AND a weed whacker to fix the bike?
Great work 👍
This is brilliant. Now build up on this idea and soon you can have your own brand of bikes. All the best
Just get a non noise polluting electric bike!
Grandpa is going to very upset when he finds out you took his hand powered drill for your project
Haha true, Grandpa might be sad but also proud! 😄 At least his old drill is still “making history” in a brand-new project! 🔧❤️
BMW would like to have a talk with you...
Already been done it’s called a motorbike lol 😂
Interessante a criatividades desse Inventor.
Thank you so much for your honest opinion! 🙏 I totally understand your point - sometimes, what’s truly “worth it” isn’t the cost, but the creativity and the learning along the way. ❤️
Haha 😄 your comment makes me wanna build three more “crazy machines”! 🚀 Thanks for believing in this half-mad inventor - I’m not done yet! 😜
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Bravo 🌟☀️🌟
@Christal7279🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I am pretty sure that this construction lasts for ten miles. Or twenty.
Soy Español, eres un figura!!!
Sigue asi, llegaras lejos chaval, suerte
Thank you so much! 😄 Words like yours really give me the energy to keep going 🇻🇳❤️🇪🇸
Exactly! 😄 Japan has been ahead for a long time with shaft-drive systems - durable, clean, and almost maintenance-free. I’m just trying to make a DIY version of it! 🔧🇯🇵
BMW would like to have a talk with you...
In the 60s and 70s everything in the USA was made in Japan ! Now everything is made in China ! What happens is the people start wanting more money to buy a house and a car. It will happen in China next !
❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for all those hearts! 💖 Your positive energy really motivates me to keep creating! 🔧✨
That shitty would never last if that red wheel didn’t have a real gear!
I'd better buy an electric motorbike
I’ve experimented with similar small engines, and throttle-cable routing is always tricky you handled it neatly. This build shows solid mechanical intuition.
Thank you so much! I know exactly what you mean-setting up throttle cables on tiny engines is always tricky 😅. I’m glad you liked the way I handled it and appreciated the mechanical intuition!
Maybe NASA & CHINA didn't, but YAMAHA did over 50 years ago.
Balance? Didn’t calculate?
Can't see it as they are playing a 5 min ad on poop.
Melhor ir andando a pé assim nao vo precisa trazer de volta nas costas ..kkkkkkk
And how long before the plastic gearing wears out? I think you should’ve chosen a metal ratchet, which would lasted a lot longer. Ingenious idea though.
For now, this is a DIY version to share the idea 👍 If there’s a more finished version, I’ll let you know!
Accident Contestant
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My drugs or yours? Wtf dude😂
The electrical version can be made with a blender engine. 😂
I need a channel like this to team up w... id love to have the fiscal power to create like id like.
We truly appreciate your words! We believe creativity and persistence are just as important as financial resources.
This guy desperately needs to make friends with a welder...!
Ngelasnya kaya kotoran burung😂
This guy clearly had time, an old bike, tools, and parts, and was like, hold my water!
Exactly, I just had some time, an old bike, and a few tools. Curiosity is what started everything.
Note that high precision drilling at 1:00...
Thanks for noticing that! 😄 I was also surprised by the drill’s precision at the 1:00 mark - really impressive! 🔧✨
Da fährt nie jemand mit.😂
This dude can't weld for his life😂😂
Thanks for the comment! 😉 Everyone needs a break, even if they love welding 😄
I thought motorcycles had already been invented.
lmfao how long did that cheap plastic gear last????
Not NASA, but Velosolex with their Flash Solex 1968. And they had a lubricated drive!
with over 9M views, they made enough to get a new real bike.
I was waiting for him to catch up with that cheeky sod and flick his hat off in return. Disappointed.
Abe rokega kaise😂😂😂 Breck lagta hai😂😂😂 ki motar band krna padta hai
No words telling people how to do this
No dampeners between the motor & the mounting bracket🤦♂️
The kid is innovative and not afraid to try amidst people shaming him. I'm not too proud to admit I wouldn't have thought to use a hand drill that way.
Thank you so much! Creativity often begins with daring to try something different, even when opinions are divided.
Camera man still able to walk beside it and film it 😂😂😂
Haha 😂 Exactly, walking alongside is the safest way to film!
