    Following up on my initial review from a couple months back. Having driven some number of miles with the Trident Exhaust on my mustang, I am still very happy with the results. The weather finally warmed up enough for me to drop the top and get a sense of how the muffler sound compares to when the top is up.
    A couple observations to mention, with the top down the amount of drone has decreased greatly inside the car. The drone was most noticeable at highway speeds when in 6th gear and stepping on the peddle just a little. I've gotten used to it but with the top down there is definitely less of it. I think mainly due to the fact that the sound can escape the cabin plus its offset by the awesome sound of the wind rushing past. Second, the harmony of sound under hard acceleration from the 3.7l Cyclone engine only sounds better with the top down.
    I recently spent the day cruising with some other mustangs, mostly v8's, which had a wide range of exhaust setups. Comparatively speaking I think that my exhaust setup sounds pretty darn good but it's still not a v8! Before buying the Trident exhaust I considered the Borla Touring. Let's just say I am very pleased I bought this exhaust!

      Kr Is your 13 an auto? I have a 14 auto, that I am going to be putting LT, and a Hiflo catted Hpipe on, and I have been looking around for exhausts, first I was going to get the GT500 quad exhaust and put that on, but this exhaust sounds really nice. What do you think it will sound like with the LT and the Hiflo H pipe?

    • @krobibero
      @krobibero  9 лет назад

      alucard36002 Yes, it's an auto. A friend of mine has a V6 14 stick with the same exhaust and due to the difference in shifting between auto and stick the exhaust sounds a little different. I can simulate stick of course using the Sport mode manual shifting which I sometimes do just to hear the growl but the auto without a tune shifts at lower RPM for fuel economy. My first thought is that will the LT and Hiflo H pipe it should sound more throaty. I've considered header myself but haven't pulled the trigger just yet. I'd love to hear your setup when you got it all together.

    I recently got these after seeing your review. I couldn't be happier with them. First the quality is outstanding. The stainless steel is heavy gauge and the finish is flawless. The installation was easy and quick with no alignment problems. The tips came out perfectly centered with no adjustment necessary. The sound is perfect not too loud and no drone at speed. They are very deep and the V6 sounds like a V8 until you get to about 5,000 RPM's then it sounds like some kind of exotic. They are not annoyingly loud, but they will hear you coming. Stomp on it and they are VERY loud and sound great. You get all this for about half the price of the big brand names and you give up nothing. I helped my son put a Roush cat back system on his new 2014 Ford F-150 a couple weeks ago and it's is a very nice system, but the fit and finish are not as nice as the Trident system.

    I drive through there everyday on my way to work. lol. I'm thinking about getting the same car with that same exhaust too. Love the way it sounds.

    Great review! Thanks for showing it in all driving and idling modes. So many morons just set in the driveway and rev it like that tells us anything. Your excellent review has completely convinced me that these are what I'm going with. They sound great and they are cheaper than the big name brands. Thanks and keep it shiny side up!

    Bob, that want the other exhaust I was considering for my mustang. I think the Trident might add a little more volume than the Touring but with a lower note than the Borla Stinger S-Type exhaust. I do have a Airaid CAI also, which I bought first and did definitely add more power and throttle response. I believe that the stock exhaust was hindering the CAI's full effect. I'm sure that headers and aftermarket mid-pipe would help greatly as well.

    Nicely done video, etc. Bet the improvements are very noticeable even though stock exhaust was designed for good performance. On my stock '55 Olds 98 the gas mileage went from 13 mph max hwy to 18 mpg just by adding second exhaust and glass pack mufflers. 0-60 time 8 secs with approx. 4,000 lb car. Happy Motoring!!!

      The throttle response is what I notice the most. Not that it was slow, but now at low RPM stepping lightly on the peddle the car takes off, very little hesitation.

      I have the Borla Touring axel-back which sound similar to yours on my 2014 convertible. It couldn't be any nicer to drive now that I have the new mufflers. Have you heard anything about the Cold Air Intake which is supposed to add HP and pep?

      Thanks for the info. There is some talk from my brother (also a 2014 convertible owner) and online about the Mustang, Mass Air Sensor getting clogged from oil & debris from the Cold Air Intake. Is the filter unit on the CAI impregnated with oil?

    Hey, I actually live by you as well not too far south from there off that highway. May I ask you the same thing if you still have this? I know it has been a few years but I have a 2014 v6 and really consider this, but want to hear it in person. Willing to do a quick 2 min meet somewhere? Like Walmart area?

    Hi any drone at all

    • @krobibero
      @krobibero  10 лет назад +1

      No so much constant drone however I'm finding that at low rpm cruising if I step on the gas, deep tones fills the cabin. On the highway is where I noticed it the most when I have to press a little harder to go up inclines. Most of the time I hardly notice anything. Punch it and wow they come to life!
      I'll be posting another video when the temperature gets warmer with the top down for anyone like me with a ragtop.

    @Kr- how much louder are these than tge stock exhaust. Are they louder at idle and cruisng around 1500-200 rpm than the stock?

    • @krobibero
      @krobibero  9 лет назад

      Wes Raceman At idle there it's noticeable with a deeper, throaty sound compared to stock. Cruising around town the volume kicks up but not overwhelming. At 2500k and up they howl and become very noticeable. I would compare them to the Borla Touring exhaust.

      @@krobibero What about Roush vs Borla axleback? Which do you think overall sounds better and not too loud?

    • @krobibero
      @krobibero  2 года назад

      @@mysticgaming7726 Better is tough to say. I looked at the Borla exhaust but it was way more expensive. I was concerned about rasp and drone that people talk about with any aftermarket exhaust. The Trident exhaust gets pretty quite when I want it to and sounds aggressive when I get on it. Others seem to be loud all the time, which is not what I was looking for. I'm really happy with my decision.
