@@frans5163 Much better guitar than people think. Very thin neck, good if you don't have big hands. Mines stock and sounds fine!!

The bridge pickup is a bit of a disappointment considering what the average player would expect from this kind of guitar. The neck pickup instead is so pleasant to hear, prominent mids and very clear. The balance is surprisingly great.
Yes I aggree, I’m gonna buy this guitar today, but I’m thinking about throwing in a Gibson pickup in the bridge!!

found mine in a pawn shop, it took me a week to clean all the cigarette smoke and dirt out of and off the finish, beautiful guitar love it! wouldnt get rid of it for anything

Nice review, I have an sg special is very good and is good like this guitar
Interesting thing about these 310's is that since it's a bolt in the entire neck is further into the body unlike every other sg out there. This means way less neck dive and you don't feel like you're reaching so far for your regular chords. Also, I have high end guitars now like my Gibson lp special but still miss my first guitar, a g-310. Frets need to be replaced along with pots and more but to me it's worth the work. Still deciding whether I should replace the pickups or not. Any suggestions? Anyway these guitars are awesome and unique upon themselves. Great video!
Sure, if the neck feels good, it could be a good platform for upgrades. For pickups, i feel going with EMG is never a wrong choice, but whatever suits you better.
@@megahurtz30 I play a lot of high gain but not a fan of emg's. Probably just go with something like a super distortion or jb. And yeah, neck is one of the best to me, feels like home!
I have the same one, 2011, made in Indonesia. It has a very dark fingerboard - looks like ebony. It has low action and plays FANTASTIC> I put Semour Jazz/JB in it and it screams. I also have a 2002 Gibson SG Faded. The Gibson has a cleaner sound, but I will tell you that the G310 is WAY more comfortable to play, thinner/narrower neck, and overall kicks ass. I have never played another 310 this nice, nor another Epiphone SG for that matter. They always have baseball bat necks. This one is amazing.

I have the same guitar. I bought it from a friend 13 years ago and I love it. A few months ago I had enough saved up to get a gibson sg. I love both
That's the spirit. I don't have any reason to give up my G310 as it just plays like butter.

Great demo. I know it's not the guitar but the distortion sound is less than desirable. Is it the orange amp or the speaker that has that fizz going on? Maybe the pickups not sure.
The orange, with this speaker and mic i use can sound a bit fizzy, i prefer to use the torpedo captor with my amps nowadays. One drawback of these small orange amps is that you don't have a 3 band eq, but i guess i could correct it with an Eq pedal in the FX loop. I can also improve it a bit using an overdrive in front of it, but i didn't want to "sculpt" the tone and let the guitar have a more pure signal path to the valves

No, but they were probably 10-46, which is more usual with this scale length (24,75"). I used 9-42 for this video, because it was probably what i had lying around at home, at the time
