It's also great that you continue to diagnose "older" vehicles because a lot of people are holding on to their cars and trucks right now, longer than they usually might. That's a great service to the public.

I don't think technicians pick and choose, unless they know they can't fix it, or even get parts for it, then they probably have to bite the bullet and say "sorry, can't fix this due to "x reason"" Or if they are just scummy and think they are only qualified to work on the newest only. If those people exist I hope I never meet them.

Brother, I have been trying to figure this out for a year, it was working fine and then just stopped, tried everything, and then saw your video….. Bingo I tilted it back up and it started 3 times back to back, thank you man, you’re way better than any shop or tech I’ve ever watched or learned from!!

Great tip. You are making the Ford dealers a bit upset because you are depriving them of a diagnostic test and that could be as much as a $100.00 bill. I know you worked for a Ford dealer so you know what I'm talking about.
This is for you Brian: a well done for telling Ford owners about a simple fix that could have cost them a lot. You're the man!!!

I see that issue mainly when the seasons change. The most common reason I see here in Southern California is that the check engine light is on. People here care more about the remote start than they do about the check engine light. (Yet supposedly the people here care about the environment. )

After hail damage repair, new fenders, the repair shop didn't install the hood close sensor, just left it laying on the fender wall - as the new fenders didn't have the right holes for the hood close sensor bracket. I made it work and installed it - Remote Start now works. Single beep lock. Thank you for this video.

Jeeeezus christ for yeaaaars my auto start hasn't been working. I chalked it up to all the work I've done to my engine. Delete kits, upgrades and tuning. I'm soooo happy to have found this video. Looks like mine was complete broken at the connector at closer inspection but I never realized it. Ordered a new one and got my auto start back! If I could this video extra thumbs up I would

Thank you very much, had my engine rebuilt (5.0) 2012 F150 and the module you speak about was completely unplugged. After looking and pulling on wire from the drivers side I finally pulled on this module and it was stuck underneath hung on another wire. It was partially broken but was able to rig it to connect and BAM! it totally worked. Thank you and I do come to your channel quite often and you have helped me diagnose other problems I've had.

I just picked up a used Expedition, 2019. My wife told me last night the remote Start wouldn't work, even though it worked at the dealership... This was exactly the issue. I had opened the hood to check the fluids when I got it yesterday. I checked the battery voltage, ran it for an hour last night and it still didn't work... but, once this guy said the the hood was open without an indicator light, i went AHA! so I popped her up, checked the switches(which were a different kind than this on a 2019) and closed the hood HARD. locked the car and it fired right up remotely. The damn Star Trek super computer didn't give me any indication something wasn't right with the hood, and it was closed tight but I guess she just needed a spanking to feel sexy. Thanks for the video, you saved me some embarrassment at the dealership and 100 bucks for a new battery.

I've seen that same behavior if the vehicle is accidentally turned off while in gear. It's not something that is normally done but if you experience random times that the remote start doesn't work and just beeps at you then just do a power cycle on the vehicle and be sure to turn it off with the gear selector in park.
