Holmes also has to extend Goff's contract. That 26 mil in cap space, is really more than 5 mil after Goff's extension and all the rookies sign.
Branch is moving from slot primarily into the safety position is my thought. Then we have Branch, Iffy, & Joseph. That is the rotation.

Simmons at his age, 30, has the best ability, which is availability. In the NFL, 30 might be considered old, but in reality, is still a young man.

If our secondary was even 10% better and our d line 5-10% better last year we win the superbowl. And not only do we beat san fransico. They never come back in that nfc game and it wouldve been a blowout leading to probably a 35-17 win over KC. Id say pur seconday will be upwards to 20% better and our dline 10-15% right out of the gate. By midseason.. its almost like the stronger tougher schedule this coming year doesnt seem so stronger or tougher now

I don't think we get either one. With Branch and Kerby both hurt I believe they are looking for temporary replacements not starters. They're looking for rotational players who can play their part and not be upset when the starters return.

Nobody wants Tracey Walker, and Brad isn't going to put out that kind of money for Simmons.. Diggs might come back, but we don't want to overpay for him. Iffy impressed me last year. His role should increase. I think they want to use Branch for safety anyways. IMO Joseph is an issue..
