Anjali Gupta Anjali Gupta Pre learning skills are the pre-requisites for subsequent skills like communication, social communication, socialisation, academics, practical life skills etc. If we try to skip it then the child finds it difficult to learn other required skills, in fact want him to jump over the initial steps, since we see his functioning in view of chronological age ignoring his mental age... at times such attempts of ours enhance undesired/ aggressive behaviours as well which gets strengthened over the time...I have seen many such cases where parents get stuck up due to odd / escape / disruptive/ aggressive behaviours developed due to wrong priorities at initial stages... then the change the priorities later which results in wastage of good learning period of early years. In view of above facts I always prefer to work more on pre learning skills until they are learnt well, it helps in long run. Pl see if the child is good at basic skills required for social communication, academics etc. Your child may require more efforts on foundation/ pre learning skills...working more on those and focusing academics gradually may help in learning. Sir namaskar . I m from India. I m speechless after seeing your video s and afforts you made. Sir tell us about different sensor issues.and how to treat sensor y issue at home. Insha Allah god bell you
Once the usage of any sense is out of normal range then it becomes sensory issue/ imbalance. Sensory issues for hearing, touch, taste, sigh etc are often found in ASD, these could be hypersensitivity (child wants more/increased) or hyposensitivity (child wants to get less/decreased) of these senses ...To me the reasons are inappropriate usage at initial stage and repetitiveness. Once there is sensory imbalance in the child this affects the learning procedure in typical way and eventually triggers undesired behaviours contributing towards disturbances in child's routine. It is important to address this imbalance at earliest possible time so that these doesn't become strengthened and the learning procedure doesn't get delayed. Desensitization gradually through regular exposures helps in bringing these in range to normal. Avoiding the exposures increases the sensory issues and behaviours becomes challenging over the period. Once these issues are noticeable or alarming then addressing them as a target behaviour is necessary through activities involving that specific sense, the child definitely reacts and exhibits undesired behaviours but the intensity gets weaken gradually and the child learns to tolerate it. Focusing pre learning skills during play and randomization helps in long term measures against these issues. I hope this helps. In shaa Allah.

Hello sir, I regularly follow all your videos. As my son has also been diagnosed with Autism, your videos have proved very helpful. Wondering if there is any way to contact you.
Hello sir, my kid was diagnosed with mild to moderate autism (CARS 32) when he was 2 yrs old and after 4.5 months of therapy his CARS has reduced to 31 . He understands everything and follows day to day instructions without any reinforcements and also has developed speech ( around 20 words.. not very clear) his hyperactivity has also considerably reduced. Sir my concern is his sensory issues.. he seeks tactile , obsessed with car and looks from the corners of his eyes. We are doing his OT but sir do these issues reduce with time??
Improvement shared is definitely encouraging. Pl discriminate repetitive behaviour and sensory issues....very often they are mixed up in autism. OT exercises will help in reduction of sensory needs creating an imbalance in senses. But focus on attention and randomization to maximum, don't allow him to repeat things/ activities in same pattern. His intelligibility of speech (clarity) will increase gradually. In shaa Allah.

To sir kia ham as a reinforcement use kr lean
The child's name is Ayaan not Ali...definitely the mother can reply you on this issue. I personally don't give these items as reinforcer. You may give occasionally and a small piece but for sure these things are unhealthy.
Assalamualaikum all, mother of Ayaan here, actually at the start of working with him. I used to give him candy or chocolate because at that time it was the best thing to get his attention. But now Alhamdolillah he doesn't need any physical reinforcer, i just say Good Job and he take it as a reinforcer. Initially i think if your child has problem with sweet or something else...You may skip those items and use alternative ways...i do believe excessive sugar creates hyperactivity. But now that he has learned many things....still i sometimes give him candies or other items....bcoz i feel these things doesn't effect him much..so do what suits your kid because every kid is different even on spectrum. Thanks

Maj saab also adviced me not to use those items but u know there are plenty of times when we can't avoid...Its our fault...even when I feel he's running more I minimize the intake of sugar...it really works 🙂 thankyou for your prayers plz keep praying Ayaan needs your prayer. Though every child has a unique pattern of development but to my experience a child if focused before 2.5 years of age has 100 percent recovery chances in less than a year. Between 2.5- 3.5 years the recovery again stands at 100 percent but the child may get a bit delayed in overcoming meaning thereby that the efforts will be required for 1-1.5 years. As the age goes above 3.5 years the behaviours and learning pattern gets strengthened thus requiring more intense and consistent efforts for complete recovery. I strongly believe that its never too late, so whatsoever the age of child is once we focus his weaknesses the child definitely improves more or less depending upon many variable factors...so we should never loose hope and keep struggling with full faith. Allah SWT is the only Healer.

Thanks

@Hasim Rizvi, Np :), I didn't take anything negatively. It was my responsibility to clarify you about the use of sweets as reinforcer. Maj saab also adviced me not to use those items but u know there are plenty of times when we can't avoid...Its our fault...even when I feel he's running more I minimize the intake of sugar...it really works 🙂 thankyou for your prayers plz keep praying Ayaan needs your prayer. Thanks

Early intervention ?age kay Hisaab se bole plZ sir.... It is my request

Sir mera beta 2.7 years ka h.2 months pehle usko autism pta chala h. 1.5 months se uski therapy chal rahi h... Usme kuch changes toh aaye h... But wo activity se bore ho ja raha h... Sir q aisa hi raha h... M is bacche ki therapy kitni bar karu ghr pr aur kitni der ke liye...?
Pl see for strong pairing, involve activities of his interest along with others, be playful, change the activities frequently before he looses interest and gets bored.
