It didn't do him much good. Columbo already knew he was there when his nephew was murdered by the chimp fingerprint on the medallion he wore as part of his King George costume. Columbo was just toying with him and the fact he caught him out in a blatant lie said everything he needed to know about the suspect.
Because other murderers make themselves even more suspicious by trying to explain everything away. Of course, it didn't help here, it was already too late. But in general it would have been a better approach for many murderers.
Columbo: ...I saw you there, but that was at 9, I don't know where you were at 7 Agent Z: Oh, I see, I had Agents K & J deal with an invasion of... *clears throat* I mean, I don't remember I had to do an MIB reference, I couldn't help myself 🤣🤣
The funniest thing is right after that scene when the woman comes in acting like she knows nothing about the murder and Rip Torn throws her under the bus, cackling as he does!
That look of disbelief on the killers' face when they discovered that Colombo wasn't the idiot they thought he was. It was an act he put on to fool and catch them out when they least expected it, getting them to incriminate themselves and confess to the murder.
Until I saw this episode first in the late 1990's, I had no idea chimpanzees had fingerprints that could be used to identify individual chimps just like with human beings. I later found out from the discovery channel even Koalas, and primates like gorillas have them too. I'm pretty sure the murderer probably didn't know that.
Kind of ironic of Rip Torn dressing up like King George III (of American Revolution and Napoleonic Wars fame) when one of his later major roles was playing George III's direct rival in France, King Louis XV, in the movie Marie-Antoinette (2006).
Men In Black Two was filmed in 2002 and you can see a difference in his age between the three films. He didn't really start to show his age until Dodgeball: An Underdog Story.
yes, i remember this episode on the tv. "Meet Nancy Pelosi and other notable women" Is what it said in the this episode, in a subtitle. At 41:11. Yeah, i remember it. And the message this one tries to show, but nobody catches on.....
The mondo Colombus shows are very short always less than 10 minutes because of the primitive mondo TVs they had back then. The old old old TVs could not hold more than 10 minutes of show as they used CRT Catholic Ray Tubs technology and non Dylan Mulvaney CLT or Claw Technology. No harm no fowl. They tried to produce a non racist TV set.
The best scene came immediately after, when he implicates the ex-wife just as she's about to get the $30 million.
the same feeling i had when I watch it first time...
"This is one of the better 90's Columbos" - Comment on every single episode from the 90's.
0:20 Columbo immediately cut the bull per request 😂😂😂
“When was the last time you went to Freddie’s apartment?”
“I don’t remember”
*probably the most smartest thing any Columbo villain said*
The actual smartest is one of Martin Landau's characters going, "Shut up!"
It didn't do him much good. Columbo already knew he was there when his nephew was murdered by the chimp fingerprint on the medallion he wore as part of his King George costume. Columbo was just toying with him and the fact he caught him out in a blatant lie said everything he needed to know about the suspect.
I never really liked this one. I’m NOT a Rip Torn fan. I always wanted a chimp though.
Better could be only "I need a lawyer".
Because other murderers make themselves even more suspicious by trying to explain everything away.
Of course, it didn't help here, it was already too late. But in general it would have been a better approach for many murderers.
He should have said "they're all shiny and they're all metal...just like these" and then whipped out the cuffs.
No. Columbo murderers always go quietly, and often with grace and urbanity.
Very good 😅 you could have written the script.
2Funny 😂
Daaaaaammmm yes they could have done a take of that
Lol
Columbo: ...I saw you there, but that was at 9, I don't know where you were at 7
Agent Z: Oh, I see, I had Agents K & J deal with an invasion of... *clears throat* I mean, I don't remember
I had to do an MIB reference, I couldn't help myself 🤣🤣
So that IS Rip Torn!
The funniest thing is right after that scene when the woman comes in acting like she knows nothing about the murder and Rip Torn throws her under the bus, cackling as he does!
Columbo:"And like 'these' cuffs". 😂😂
Great episode!!! Thanks Lieutenant!!! 👍👍🙂
One of the best cases solved by Ltn Colombo
R.I.P Rip Torn. Guess it was meant to be, with your name and all.
He was quite the bank robber
That look of disbelief on the killers' face when they discovered that Colombo wasn't the idiot they thought he was. It was an act he put on to fool and catch them out when they least expected it, getting them to incriminate themselves and confess to the murder.
Love the Columbo " closing the Case " surprise...... always intriguing. Thank you 💖💔⚘🥂🎶💖🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love this episode. Though I usually end up saying “Oh Freddie” about everything afterwards.
"That's all very interesting Columbo now if you could just look into this device so I can check your eyes..."
Love Rip Torn.
you should say only four things to the police. "I want a lawyer."
I love Rip Torn!! Scully in Summer Rental!!!! Outstanding!!!
Great EPISODE
At 7, Zed was at MIB headquarters lieutenant 😂😂
He was arguing with Frbllrp and Bob.
Columbo is better than tennis and football
This is my favorite episode from season 10 "Death hits the jackpot"
Columbo isnt monkeying around!
I... I... I'm sorry. I'll see myself out.
that nibbling duck.....😂🤣😂
Thought I recognised Patches O'Houlihan.
"If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a Columbo murder investigation."
R.I.P. Rip Torn.

Humans are primates.
just like you didn't know that Humans are just a little far from being a chimp, like out DNA matches nearly 98%
Humans and chimpanzees share about 98% of our DNA. The bigger question is, what traits we DONT share.
You do realize that this is a television show.
Or he overlooked that fact.
Nesmrtelný,úžasný ❤
Genius ending!!!!
Done in by the chimp
I am surprised Rip Torn did not go after Columbo with a hammer just like he did to Norman Mailer
One of my favourite episodes. Great solution, great murderer. He always reminded me of Jack Nicholson in some way.
We need a episode recap of "Death hits the Jackpot"
"Chimp-Panzy" lmao
Columbo is lucky that Jason Voorhees's mom didn't go on a rampage!
RIP Rip
That was a good one , I just saw Peter Faulk on on wagon train last night, he was really young
Falk. Ffs how hard is it to spell his name?
One of the good episodes of the second series
Kind of ironic of Rip Torn dressing up like King George III (of American Revolution and Napoleonic Wars fame) when one of his later major roles was playing George III's direct rival in France, King Louis XV, in the movie Marie-Antoinette (2006).
4:28 Frank Columbo
Colombo has said several times before "Let me be Frank."
Did Torn look into the camera for a moment there?
@4:10 at least we know his name Franck Columbo
Oh my.....
Just one more thing....
...and I thought his first name was Lieutenant
Ironically just by chance I've seen both clips where we see his name today!
if you pause it when he shows the badge you can see Lt Frank Columbo
Oooh. That's good!
they cut off the best part!
😂 the mokeys fingerprints AS prove , what slyness !
The chimp got the justice he deserved!
he cold
Ode to suitable for framing.
Villain exposed by someone else’s fingerprints.
The planned fall guy played a talking chimp in Planet of the apes.
At 4;27 you can see the name on the badge......Frank Columbo.
Gotcha
Thanks👩✈️
Really wanted rip torn to just start spouting vulgarities.
This is the clip that tells you Columbo's first name!
The episode where we freeze the picture and find out Columbo's first name!
0:36 any o'clock, I'm home too, it sucks👎🏻
What the heck, isn't this the guy from Men in Black 2. How on earth is he in Columbo. He looks exactly the same as in MIB2.
Death Hits The Jackpot was filmed in 1991 and Men in Black was filmed in 1997. So, they were only six years apart.
Men In Black Two was filmed in 2002 and you can see a difference in his age between the three films.
He didn't really start to show his age until Dodgeball: An Underdog Story.
@@johnburn8031 Ahh right, i thought the episode of Columbo was much older.
@@RMJ1984 I looked it up because I thought that too.
Agent Zed?
Let's get back to some classic Columbo clips, these new ones hurt my soul.
Noone
Yup Humans are the same. Unfortunately we ruined ourselves for shiny metal things.🤔
The reptilian brain that we still possess remnants of!
Freddie was an idiot handing his winning lottery to his uncle.
He most back ti MIB
yes, i remember this episode on the tv.
"Meet Nancy Pelosi and other notable women"
Is what it said in the this episode, in a subtitle. At 41:11.
Yeah, i remember it.
And the message this one tries to show, but nobody catches on.....
Not my favorite episode lol

2:59 who
FACT there was 69 Episodes in total?
Are you asking or telling?
Never answer any questions when talking to a cop. Not even what time of day it is. It doesn't benefit you
RIP torn men in black
