Vashti Harrison is an author illustrator of The New York Times best-selling picture book Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History, and also a winner of the NAACP Image Award. She earned a bachelor's degree with a double major in media studies and studio art from the University of Virginia, earned an MFA in film and video from CalArts, and took part in animation classes to learn from Disney and Dreamworks legends.
