Tucked away in Port Antonio, this isn't your typical Jamaican resort. With a limited number of rooms, the vibe’s intimate and, maybe, a tad exclusive, in a hipster kind of way. But as a non-hipster myself - I felt 100% welcome and comfortable at Geejam. It's the kind of place you might stumble upon a low-key celeb trying to escape the paparazzi or a music producer looking for some inspiration in the Jamaican jungle.
Geejam’s restaurant - next to the hilltop infinity pool, serves up Jamaican dishes that are authentic without trying too hard. If that’s not your scene, head over to their bar, where the drinks are as chill as the ambiance. As for the amenities, between the sleek pool and private beach access (you’ll have to walk down the hill and cross the street to get to the beach), you're sorted whether you're looking to take a dip or just grab a cold one by the sea.
By Jamaican standards, Geejam is relatively affordable. If you’ve got the cash, maybe go for the bungalows or private villas. If not, at least splurge for the rooms on the top floor with great views. Geejam offers an experience that's a far cry from the tired all-inclusive resorts: luxe with a bit of an edge.

I've been here a few years back and loved the place a lot, but I enjoyed the experiences around there, especially the rafting and lunch at Belinda's place. Thinking of going back to Jamaica again in June with friends. Between Goldeneye and this, which is a more fun place to hang out with friends?
I've been eagerly awaiting your next video! We are planning a trip to Jamaica in a few months and are going to stay here, the Rockhouse and Tensing Pen. I've stayed at the Rockhouse and Tensing Pen but never been to Port Antonio.
I love your videos - we have mostly the same taste in hotels. I know this because I've stayed at or visited many of the places you recommend in Tulum & Bali. I've looked into it but we like a lot of cheap local eats - I'm worried about this when it comes to that Goldeneye and reviews note the food is very expensive so I'll be interested in your video. I'm a bit worried about that with GeeJam too but I don't want to stay at 2 places with that same issue... Normally we rent a car but I've been to Jamaica and know that the driving is a bit crazy there - plus the other side of the road and all...
