I have a theory. When a projectile hits a bloon, the outer layer pops, and theoretically, a new bloon emerges. From what I've learned from Minecraft, when you spawn in the world, you gain damage immunity for a bit, that's why in the speedrun leaderboards in the "fastest death" category, the time between the people is just a few milliseconds off of each other.
How does it piece through the end of the bloon despite not having a single cut on the bloon or any damage whatsoever

i always invisioned that the next layer inflates when the first layer pops
Maybe the actual reason is because the dart monkey doesnt throw the dart at full force and the bloons have a little space between each layer, and so, when the first layer gets popped, the dart gets flung because it doesnt have much energy (Aka speed) to keep going to the other layer
That's exactly what i thought
That make sense but in the actual game the dart did not get flung away but the dart keep going straight and pop other bloon then it just dissappear

the first picture/drawing, i saw in an ultra jason video a few while ago

The reason they don’t pop all layers is because the bloom layer stops the trajectory and slows it and stops it more than 1 pierce they figured out instead of popping 1 layer they instead made the darts automatically curve for more poppage

It works at, the darts aren’t sharp enough to pop all layers and only pop a few. Exactly how explained in game.
That doesn't explain why the darts can still pierce multiple bloons though. Especially after having not been sharp enough to pierce through the previous balloon.
I think the darts go in and hit the money which ricochet the dart up and the dart goes out of the bloon

Probably because the first layer knocks it off course and it bounces off the second layer, but because the wings it gets straightened.

How to inflate 5 balloons at once
Step 1: get a small hand held air pump
Step 2:fit a small wire into all of the balloons
Step 3: pump air
Step 4: detach one at a time so they don't pop
Step 5: have a convenient small robot with hands

They don’t pop all the layers because you have to make them sharper they’re very not sharp so after popping a lawyer, they get dull so then they can no longer pop the other layer and they bounce off, which is why you need more sharpness on the darts to make it so that they can pop more layers

I've waited so long to release my inner "erm actshuuallie ☝️🤓", and finally...
I theorise that normal-class bloons do not have layers, rather the shreds reform into a bloon one rank below. The red bloon, however, has no lesser counterpart, and instead, it's shreds just disappear, and both of these statements would explain how no mess litters the ground after a bloon is popped. It may also explain how Benjamin's L10 ability is allowed to demote bloons (presumably by forcing them to reform to the rank below). Also, this might also explain how the regrow property works, with those bloons able to undo their pop and reform into the rank _above_.
