Well, I have to say I appreciate the review. There is a wet-on-wet painting I want to do but I'm not sure if I'm going to continue or not afterwards. So I've been looking around for the easels and trying to compare pictures. But one thing that's bothering me about just every single one, is why is there a protruding clamp/shelf at the top and bottom respectively. I get that it's designed to hold the canvas in place, but it's like... how am I supposed to paint right there. Are there any kinds of standing easels without the protruding clip (and perhaps a bit cheaper)? I know there's the Bob Ross 2-in-1 easel (also watched that video), but I also don't have the desire to spend that much or screw the screws into the canvas.
Another great and informative video! I love my H easel. Like a lot of artists, I have a number of different types of easels. While they all have their pros and cons, I really do prefer the stability and sizing capacity of the H frame. Happy painting, everyone!
I made an easel for under $30.00 6 ft ,adjustable and folds up ,now I put attachments to it like cleaning bucket, paper towel holder, it is sturdy not heavy I can share a pic !
I wish i could get some paint. I haven't been able to paint since April because money is so tight for us right now with prices going up. If i could paint, I would totally share my art with you
If you have a Walmart near you - I would recommend Apple Barrel paint... They can be acquired for less than 50 cents a bottle. They are not great paints BUT they are good enough to practice with and work on your skills
Thanks for the info/review! Something you could try on the non-adjustable connections in the easle to prevent them from loosening up over time is blue threadlocker when assembling. Just don't put it on the parts you move!
How tall are these? I went to an art store to look for easels, and noticed that all the easels they had fall kinda short. I'm quite tall (180cm), and often notice I get backache from having to paint bowing down a bit. You are quite tall yourself, how have these worked for you?
They are all adjustable for sitting and standing. I am 6'2' and the HD one I have accommodates my height. I dont remember the lengths of travel BUT it will be listed on the buying site. If you like to do standing painting only... I would suggest looking at the BRI Easel: ruclips.net/video/nllcBdS5Igg/видео.html
Do these easels have the lip style holder? .... it drives me crazy I cannot find an easel without that little lip cause it prevents from being able to paint.... do these have the flat style holders?
You will find that most have that. Do what I do and just pinch it on the lips and keep it secure using bar clamps. Works perfectly. Or you can always get the bob ross easel which has no lip on it: ruclips.net/video/nllcBdS5Igg/видео.html
I wanna know your opinion about copyright related Bob’s painting. If I paint something similar to Bobs art(never going to be exact as you know) will I be in trouble for copyright if I sell them?
I have a question I paint in a small shed it doesn't have very good lighting 2 small windows the lighting is fluorescent lighting which glares on canvas they have covers on them. What can I do?
At some point I will do a video on lighting... BUT it is a little hard to comment on since everyone has their on personal preference. I would reccomend at the moment you convert your fluorescent tubes over to Brighter LED tubes. They will help save on electricity and pump out brighter light. Then invest in soft diffused covers for the lighting fixture. This will soften the light and scatter it more. This will produce a nice soft light that lands on your canvas with minimum glare. Hope that helps
When you make you tube videos and use Bob name and pictures which I see a lot in your videos, Do you get copyright claim or not from the Kowaleski’s daughter?

Yeah I should have maybe emphasized how sturdy/stable a large H easel is for a passionate painter like me ha ha ha
@@WildCreates hahaha well sometimes I “fire it in” like Bill Alexander. I did that once with an aluminum Torino easel. It wasn’t pretty 🤣🤣🤣
Hell ya - fire it in too hard.... been there!!!

That is a great Idea for the base components and hardware

No you won't - provided you are not clamming them to be painted by Bob Ross - You are allowed to do your own version.
