Such an irony that her voice actress, Kikuko Inoue voices best mums like Sanae Furukawa from Clannad or Shuuko Komi in Komi Can't Communicate!
When you realize that Kiyoka's father and mother's voice actors, Ryotaro Okiayu and Kikuko Inoue were also in Clannad as husband and wife, Akio and Sanae Furukawa!
and in demon slayer,kiyoka's father has the same va as kokushibo

I’m honestly surprised it’s coming much sooner in January 2025, considering that the first season came out in July of 2023 and I initially thought _My Happy Marriage_ Season 2 will premiere in Summer 2025.
Beyond that Netflix is on a roll in January 2025 with _My Happy Marriage_ Season 2 and especially _Sakamoto Days_
Maybe that was always the plan ! To put it out so soon cause they had it ready and knew it would do so good !
I'm getting mean tester vibes out of the mother-in-law. Specially with that line: *"Even at the risk of your life?"* I'm calling it, she's testing the resolve of the woman she'll be entrusting her son with.
Make sense. It is very common in media (especially Japanese media) to have a character that is mean on first sight, but only for them to be revealed as they were testing them.

So far season 1 covers the Light novel 1 and 2. If they follow the pattern season 2 will probably cover Light novel 3 and 4. At this moment there are 8 light novels, but the volume 8 seems to be a story before Kiyoka joined the military. So it is possible to have 4 seasons (I do hope so) of My happy marriage. I'm not sure if the author will continue the light novel.

I my opinion I believe wen Myo parental family and Minoru will find out Myo was born with a gift much stronger then the royal family,her mother sealed her ability to protect her.
I bet Shinchi will apologise for ignoring Myo and treat her like a servent.
Kanako will surely have a fit of dementia knowing that the marriage between Shinchi and Sumi born a child with supreme gift.I don't know what Myo father sees in her, but those two are deserve for other.
Kaya sure be suprise and jealous of sister,but knowing she is no match for Myo not even close.
For Minoru I sure he will regret not to promise Myo for his oldest son wen she was a child to make sure they will have Usuba power .

I have read all the novels so far and it’s a beautiful thing to watch their love evolve and to see how much Miyo has grown not just as a person but as a gift user. Cannot wait for season 2.

Lol Kiyoka look so alike his daddy. From the spoilers it seems like Kiyoka's mom is a tsundere and she's testing to see if Miyo is only interested that Kiyoka actually came from a influential family. Kiyoka's mom might also feel jealous of Miyo as typical of most but not all mother in laws. The title is My Happy Marriage so I have no doubt that she will be happy in the marriage. But we all know that the sister in law really adores Miyo from their interaction and highly likely I guess will be the one to protect Miyo in the family. So happy that my favorite anime is getting a second season 😌
After Mio grew so much S1 overcoming her own family trauma, now she has to face Kiyoka’s mommy dearest? Can’t the poor girl get a break?

I looked into the Voice list and Oh No! The voice actor for Komi's Mom (Kikuko Inoue) is voicing Kiyoka's Mean Mom! I don’t like it when the voice of a nice mom voiced a mean mom.

No. If I remember correctly the close eye with glasses is someone who is obsessed with Sumi (Miyo mom) and claims to be her dad. Kiyoka finds holes in this story and I don't think he's her dad

i still can’t believe this anime didn’t win best romance for this year’s anime awards, the story telling in the show is amazing and the characters were phenomenal, the ost was great as well i’m still confused as to why it didn’t win, this is honestly one of the best romance anime i’ve ever seen tbh and it’s definitely one of my favorites 🩷
IMO the anime kind have ruined the pacing while also making all the side characters too flat or sudden. It gave too much spotlight on the two, it became frustrating.
I think I didn't enjoy it as much as I should have because I was listening to the dub, it was a bit grating on the ears imo. should've just read subtitles
Sadly anime watchers gives all attention & love to garbage Shounen romance animes & then to shoujo modern romance & hardly pay attention to historical romance shoujo anime

The alternate version of Kanao returns. (Both this and Demon Slayer takes place in the Taisho era. In fact, they are capable for a crossover. Both involve demons. Though for My Happy Marriage, the demons are more metaphorical where in DS they are physical)
For example, during the Haishira Training arc, the Crops is running low on supplies and some of the Hashira volunteers to take the lead for a supply run to Taisho Tokyo. The ones who lead it are Giyu, Shinobu (accompanied by Kanao, you know why), Tengen and his wives (he may be retired but he is still vital to the corps), and Mitsuri. All chose to wore normal (at the time) clothing to not draw attention. (Though like in Mugen Train, they hide their swords in case of Demons in the area)
Kanao is the one who invited Tanjiro, Nezuko and the rest to join them on the run. Nezuko is allowed to stay out because now that she's immune to sunlight, she can go anywhere. (But she still wore her old nuzzle as a precaution in case she's identified as a Demon)
As the group splits up, Tanjiro and Nezuko get paired up with Kanao, who wore her Kimono in the final selection. (Tanjiro mentally stated that she looks better in a Kimono.) As they when to one of the supply stores, they ecounter a rich man and his soon to be wife, who noticed that something is up with Nezuko. As the two groups encounter each other, a hidden threat emerges. One that rivals an Upper rank kizuki and potentially Muzan Kibutsuchi himself.
Kanao and Miyo also share the same Japanese voice actor
