man you have no idea how much I have searched for this version, I bought this 12" single back in 1981 and played the hell out of it, by far the best version of Hurry On Sundown Thank you so much for posting this, you have made an old hippie very, very happy.
You're welcome mate, I bought this when I was about 18 (1990) in a second hand record shop for about £2 and it remains one of my favorite bits of vinyl to this day
It was a very good buy then, I remember paying 1.99 for it back in 81, the cover was a black and white cartoon drawing, some said it was by Dave Brock, and if I remember correctly, it credits Lemmy on the back for the bass. I used to sit all night long listening to this having a good old smoke.. ;-) mellow times
I'm a bit late for an answer I think but I'll ask anyway. Anybody remember the name of the compilation album this came off that had drawing of a silver metallic hawk flying on it? Had great version of motorway city on it as well.
adam saunders - Night of the Hawk (a Bootleg album) fits your description of the cover and has both tracks, the only official compilation album with both the original Hurry on Sundown and a different version (shorter) of Motorway City seems to be - Independent Days (and Independent Days Vol 1&2) both tracks from early EP's. www.spirit-of-metal.com/discographie-groupe-Hawkwind-type-Albums-l-en.html
this band and me go back years loved them long before finding drugs but then in 93 i found lsd and a whole new world opened up . remember to practise your psypowers people :0
