Gotta say, I like this content style better than the old one, especially when we’ve all seen 800000 videos about the current drama. One video with multiple dramas makes your channel watchable for me again. Kudos!
Folks have got to start realizing that brands are corporations whose only point is to make money. If everyone stopped treeating them as people, half kf these drama would be avoided
I think one thing I find frustrating is that large brands that are supposed to stay updated on trends and social responses chose to work with two influencers that are HIGHLY despised/contested. Like, do they not stay up to date enough, do they align themselves with these influencers, or do they think the profit will outweigh any bad press?
Any press is good press. no matter how much hate this generates, the likelihood they still come out of this quarter with more sales than less is almost guaranteed
My fav moment as someone who has a friend who works for an influencer marketing company is the "I don't know who sent this omg 😱 so nervous," ... As if they aren't told by their company that they are dropping merch. Most influencers have companies who take care of the PR packages, their contracts etc so the influencer doesn't have to give away their address and have 20-50 packages delivered to their home every day. They have a company taking care of those, my friend herself takes care of this stuff. 😅 It's all so fake.
Here in New Zealand we pay $34 for just ONE of those Beauty Blenders from Sephora. Then there’s this chick getting a hand out of hundreds of them? Also, what a waste of products! What the hell is she really going to do with HUNDREDS of them?! Absolute joke.
I‘m honest…I’m outliving the social media stuff. Its so annoying to see these people being so ungrateful and over consuming…I’m so done! They have the opportunity to live from this and getting away with everything and still manage to be greedy

I just find it grotesque that during a cost of living crisis , brands are just throwing wealth at influencers to show off while everyone else is struggling.
I didn't even mention it but the fact that Manny is trying to justify exposure as payment is SO gross. As an artist, that's the reddest flag on earth to me.
I mean I feel like this was all unnecessary, like regardless she wasn’t getting paid for anything so the opportunity for new people seeing her through the repost doesn’t hurt her and manny could’ve just never mentioned it online
@@mariri725 omg I’m sorry I worded it very wrong, I meant the whole drama could’ve been avoided and it was unnecessary 😭 no manny is def in the wrong but I wouldn’t be as upset about the situation
I disagree. That influencer is clearly an entitled brat and has just put a huge red mark on herself. Now everyone knows how difficult she would be to work with.
Hey, I'm totally for making fun of her trying to be "🤪 quirky" and being a dumbass, but as an autistic person, it's deeply hurtful to see someone hinting at a developmental disability whenever they see someone with an insufferable personality. It implies that autistic people are inherently annoying
As a MUA, don't trust a MUA who uses beauty blenders in their clients (if it's not a brand new one that they're leaving with the client) that's the equivalent to wash your face in a public toilet...
At first, I did not understand why the influencer was upset about Manny reposting her content. But after she explained, I totally get it. Good for her for speaking up.
I think in the last decade we, their potential customers, have become super aware of over consumption. Like I remember in the 2010s when muas had 100s of foundations. I always thought it was weird because there's no way they went through them all.
The first tea with glamzilla and beauty blender screams minimum order requirement hahaha (meaning to get a custom embossed they had a minimum amount and they were like, fine just send it all to her anyways) hahahaha
As a Retail makeup artist who freelances for certain brands … I can tell you now we would LOVE and appreciate getting PR sent to us , or even gratis.. it would push us to sell more and cross sell link certain products ….
Some influencers are greedy , selfish and money hungry and it shows . They don't care about the supporters because if they did we would know and actions speak louder then words. I really don't let the hype of products sell me out because i know they do it for money and im not easily convinced . I have in the past supported a couple influencers and i wasn't too satisfied with the products they say one thing and it turns out to be the opposite . I wish influencers cared and supported there supporters they way we support them. Anyway we all Reap what we sow at the end of the day She's not taking those beauty blenders with her to the grave 🙏🏼💯🙌🏽
To be fair tho a lot of times you’re asking to be reposted or noticed by a brand when u link their social medias and stuff, I’d just keep my video up and ask for some form of compensation or something else since she got his attention anyways
Most organizations wont allow employees to accept gifts at all or over a certain amount because ot doesnt look good for the business or can leave a negative ethical reputation because it leaves room for suspicion of favoritism, influencing decisions, etc. Keep this in mind when watching influencers give reviews for the companies that send them gifts outside of products to test and review.
You missed a video where glam is legit saying "THERES ALWAYS THAT ONE PERSON - THESE ARE MY BEAUTY BLENDERS MINEEEEE. im not going to give beauty blenders that are personalized to ME."
that matthew guy is so annoying. why choose mikayla specifically? she’s not really known for tanning, it’s not her content. I believe it was solely marketing for him. He knows she gets a lot of bad publicity and can use it to his advantage. I’ve seen many creators that don’t really like her but will say that they understand and know that brand videos and reviews can take months especially an UNPAID ONE. that’s their income, i don’t blame mikayla for not putting it priority. it’s not a blush or eyeshadow that she can just sit down for 5 mins and try it on, its a FULL BODY tan that she has to take the time to apply, let sit and then wait for the next day to see the actual results. If she’s super busy i can see why an unpaid review can keep falling at the end of her to-do list when she has actual paid jobs lined up. Nobody made him take out a 10,000 loan, he’s a big boy that makes his own financial decisions.
I don't even follow/like or know enough Mikayla, cause I'm not into these tiktok/influencers, but personally in this case I don't see her the bad one. She had no contract, no obligation, anything...he sabotaged himself. What if he was not even a fan of her but of the audience she has? 🤔 He made a bad decision, hope he learned from this.
1000%. I don’t care for Mikayla but it is not her fault he made a bad business decision and took out a massive loan. He’s an adult and made that choice on his own
I wouldn't trust a single word of any 'review' from most of these people. It's all hope for some jewerly or giant bags of beauty blenders with your name on them or secretly branded.
She can't get pissed if somebody reposted the crap that she already put online and even though she reached out to somebody doesn't mean they have to respond or work with her.
It's Manny using the "we're paying in exposure" when it comes to reposting a creators content. GREAT!! How many 'exposures' do I need to pay my rent?!!???!!
The last girl is delusional. When you create content and tag a brand/product, you are already doing free marketing for that brand, and unintentionally selling that product for them. However, I DEEPLY dislike the fact that the brand didn't ask permission to use her content and I especially dislike Manny is acting like "fReE eXpOSure" is somehow a valuable asset in this oversaturated market.
People getting made at brands gifting influencer big things of costs have never made sense to me….you know that’s what they did to magazines in the past. It’s just shifted to influencers for marketing instead….
I personally think that brands, sponsorships etc, have played a MASSIVE part of this extreme ‘realisation of the parasocial relationship era’ we are in. I refuse to buy from mainstream brands because of how they all advertise. ‘We love you’ is just weird and blurs that boundary. We’re watching influencers being bought off one by one and the original love I had for the beauty community (for the unbiased reviews and real life swatches etc), has entirely disappeared. You can’t trust any company - especially one that declares ‘love’ for influencers like this.
Hear me out though…I believe brands also send fancy gifts to creators because it creates fomo; and more people will want to become “influencers” which then encourages everyday people To start doing reviews in hopes of becoming like these people-so these brands end up getting a TON of free marketing.
HAAUUUGE miss on glams part. She should’ve found some smaller creators and sent them around. Then those videos would’ve gotten traction etc and it could’ve been SO much good PR for her and for the brand and then a collab maybe… hugeeeee miss.
Is the girl delulu? She wanted to be recognized, but like who you is? She wanted a recognition, approaching it like an influencer. Then she gets recognized and she gets on cloud. Disgusting.
She said she’s been reaching out to Lunar Beauty forever but then gets upset when they repost her? Given they should have asked for permission first, a repost from them is good exposure. You know how many people probably reach out to his brand to work with them? It surely wasn’t anything personal on their part if they never responded.
Glamzilla is she for real 🤣🤣 the greediness level oh my god. Like how many of these you need??? Make a give away and get rid of unnecessary stuff! She’s cheeeeeap
I'm so sick of these influencers they have more money than anyone else but yet they get tons and tons of makeup that ends up going bad because they never use it it makes me not want to buy the makeup to be honest
With the Mikayla and influencers being "bought" by brands with gifts... THIS IS HOW POLITICS WORKS! Except instead of reviews, it's passing bills/laws for their large donors. Welcome to life kids.
I used to love the makeup channels and stuff. For the past year I haven't been in it. It's so removed from reality. I got tired of having to get a new pallet every other day and this new viral trend and so on. I have three pallets now and that's plenty. I have no common ground with any of these people and I just no longer engage in it. I pop over here now and then to get some tea and that's it
🎉🎉 It's all one big advertisement. I wont watch a single influencer. I myself have less than 900 subscribers and I am grateful for every single one. I cannot stand these way overrated influencers. They're just paid for doing advertisements.
The interesting thing about Mikayla is that she shows the camera the gift before she really even looks at it. It felt like she knew what it was or perhaps unimpressed?
There are so many nonproblematic make up RUclipsr out there. They may not be as big and famous, but they have morals and values. And one of them who I am subscribed to is Morgan Turner. She is as cute as a button. I have been subscribed to her channel for about a year now. And she isn’t as big but she’s not problematic. She has about 290,000 subscribers.
Doesn't everybody see what's going on? It is going to get to the point where nobody can do anything. Because someone's going to b**** and complain or say they're copying them it's just getting out of hand.
After watching Robert's video about the selftanner drama I'm leaning more to Mikaylas side. He put some infos in I never heard before. Yes, Mikayla told him she'd do a review, but they had no contract or anything. Him spending money he doesn't have is his own responsibility.
pr has been a thing for a long time its honestly not that big of a deal. I don't like Mikayla but the fact they sent her earrings is really sweet. The beauty blenders should be switched out like once a months anyways and she probably give some to family, we don't know her personal life
$20/blender... way to piss people off .... they arent gonna get positive anything. Especially when i paid $44 total for 3 BB sponges, and blender cleanser....all 3 were molded before use.
And on the Manny thing, if someone on his team reposted it w/out consent of her & him, then likely the same team members ignored her messages. Do we know the shoppable option was made aware to Manny also prior to his response? He should have reviewed the content b4 the reply but with the same sort of idea maybe he didn't know, irresponsible yes, but hopefully he will follow up/rectify this appropriately. As he himself said, he is also an 'indie' brand but has had the boost and support of a larger social media following.
My argument regarding reposting content is that it's a double edged sword. First off, I'm not sure why she would routinely tag the brand if she didn't expect a brand to see it and repost it. Yes, it's never a good idea for a brand to repost content without the person's written consent. That's a rookie mistake but aside from that, what was she expecting? The double edge sword comes in to play with people expecting a portion of sales when a brand re-posts them. Sure, you can make the argument that the brand is making money off your hard work and I totally agree that's not fair, BUT when you open those doors, then it becomes perfectly fair for brands to come after you for using their product in your video if you make any sort of revenue. It becomes a very messy situation for everyone.
As someone who worked in influencer marketing from the brand side: - Reposting (as a story) is fine AS LONG AS you aren’t actively profiting off of it. It’s legally okay, but a moral grey. - reposting as a shoppable pic/video is illegal unless you get written permission. Because as a brand, you don’t OWN that content
Disgusting! 😡. If they can send her two full bags of beauty blenders, that just goes to show that they are not worth $20 apiece. They are probably only worth a few cents for each one. This is why I have never bought a beauty blender and I will never buy a beauty blender

It's brilliant really. DM doing a collab is awesome and makes me move the brand items up my wishlist even higher.
I'd really like to see a brand donate their products. A lone of women's shelters get donated makeup that is already used and has to be thrown away. A bunch of makeup being donated to different shelters or donated to lbgt+ teen shelters, etc. That would be cool, too.
makeup is too expensive for these influencers to think they’ll have a job long term with this much controversy
Gotta say, I like this content style better than the old one, especially when we’ve all seen 800000 videos about the current drama. One video with multiple dramas makes your channel watchable for me again. Kudos!
Thank you !
You’ll find a photo of Glamzilla next to the word cringe in the encyclopedia influenca.
Not Mikayla loving it so much *she drops the accent* and no one notices😂
Folks have got to start realizing that brands are corporations whose only point is to make money. If everyone stopped treeating them as people, half kf these drama would be avoided
I think one thing I find frustrating is that large brands that are supposed to stay updated on trends and social responses chose to work with two influencers that are HIGHLY despised/contested. Like, do they not stay up to date enough, do they align themselves with these influencers, or do they think the profit will outweigh any bad press?
I hate to say it, but they make the brands thousands of $$, so it makes sense to the brand marketing team…
Any press is good press. no matter how much hate this generates, the likelihood they still come out of this quarter with more sales than less is almost guaranteed
@@emmamakesbadartexactly. People are still making videos and talking about it so it's working.
😅 It's all so fake.
glamzilla has always been giving me the ick vibe ever since i saw her on tiktok idk just me
Every time I see an update, I am not shocked at the repeat influencers under fire 😭
I’m doing a case study on Mikayla this semester at uni where I’m analysing her marketing strategies etc. and my god I’ve never been so invested in an assessment.
I just find it grotesque that during a cost of living crisis , brands are just throwing wealth at influencers to show off while everyone else is struggling.
The way Mikayla's accent disappeared when she opened that gift 💀
Also I wish we had seen the last of the illusion bronze guy omfg bro go away
I didn't even mention it but the fact that Manny is trying to justify exposure as payment is SO
gross. As an artist, that's the reddest flag on earth to me.
Manny is out of touch, exposure doesn't mean the same as it did back in 2016 when that was his main job.
Like they couldn't afford to send her a lousy small pr package as a thank you for using her post and her continued support? Think of it as a gift even
I mean I feel like this was all unnecessary, like regardless she wasn’t getting paid for anything so the opportunity for new people seeing her through the repost doesn’t hurt her and manny could’ve just never mentioned it online
@@gamingpeople7826i dont think this is unnecessary at all, if anything manny will be mindful to ask first before posting other creators
I used to love watching beauty content on youtube so much. It was so fun and inspiring, now i remember why i havent bothered in about 5 years.
That Glamzilla girl seems a little…slow…I’m not going to say anymore than that.
Hey, I'm totally for making fun of her trying to be "🤪 quirky" and being a dumbass, but as an autistic person, it's deeply hurtful to see someone hinting at a developmental disability whenever they see someone with an insufferable personality. It implies that autistic people are inherently annoying
As a MUA, don't trust a MUA who uses beauty blenders in their clients (if it's not a brand new one that they're leaving with the client) that's the equivalent to wash your face in a public toilet...
i'm getting tired of influencers.
The fake excitement is finger nails across the chalkboard lol
The old adage is true; the rich get richer and the poor poorer.😢 This is why drug store product lines are so important! Have a lovely day. 😊
As a Retail makeup artist who freelances for certain brands … I can tell you now we would LOVE and appreciate getting PR sent to us , or even gratis.. it would push us to sell more and cross sell link certain products ….
This is where they belong
Some influencers are greedy , selfish and money hungry and it shows . They don't care about the supporters because if they did we would know and actions speak louder then words. I really don't let the hype of products sell me out because i know they do it for money and im not easily convinced . I have in the past supported a couple influencers and i wasn't too satisfied with the products they say one thing and it turns out to be the opposite . I wish influencers cared and supported there supporters they way we support them. Anyway we all Reap what we sow at the end of the day She's not taking those beauty blenders with her to the grave 🙏🏼💯🙌🏽
Stop supporting them and giving them views! They forget who made them who they are! Stop giving these fake people views!
Paying her in cash and paying her in gifts, what's the difference? She gets paid way more then 5K for sponsored content.
Please….these people influence nobody, maybe the Sephora kids 😅
Remember Glamzilla, was recently complaining recently about the room she received. She's a piece of work! Makayla is scary!
It takes mere minutes to simply ASK someone before using their content. These influencers think they are above everyone else and don’t need permission
To be fair tho a lot of times you’re asking to be reposted or noticed by a brand when u link their social medias and stuff, I’d just keep my video up and ask for some form of compensation or something else since she got his attention anyways
this is so embarrassing...... i write off brands when i see them sending massive amounts of anything to someone who can afford it themselves.
I ran so fast to the notification that i lost my wig 😅❤
😭😭😭hopefully ur wig is airight

EXACTLY!!! No one made him do that!!!! And my question is if it’s fully custom, how did he have 10k in product? Doesn’t seem very custom
I agree 100%, that guy knew if mikayla reviews his brand or she doesnt, he's gonna make profit
1000%. I don’t care for Mikayla but it is not her fault he made a bad business decision and took out a massive loan. He’s an adult and made that choice on his own
I wouldn't trust a single word of any 'review' from most of these people. It's all hope for some jewerly or giant bags of beauty blenders with your name on them or secretly branded.
whys everyone getting into controversy 😭
Controversy is what makes people go viral 🤷🏽♀️ Influencers will keep engaging in the drama to get all the views
She can't get pissed if somebody reposted the crap that she already put online and even though she reached out to somebody doesn't mean they have to respond or work with her.
Mikayla can afford her own Cartier with all that money she made from that telescopic mascara.
It’s all this tea for me on a Sunday evening 🖤
I'm not Haley fan, but I find it hard to believe that her final product will be in anything other than a Grey component like her brand is known for
For them to send her 100 beauty blenders when they charge like $20 for a single piece of foam
It tells you they really don't cost much to make if they can afford to just send 100 to people for free.
I'm so sick of these people!!!
Reasons why I never follow beauty influencers
It would be so nice for make up brands to give away a beauty blender you can personalize as a thank you for each order
Hear me out though…I believe brands also send fancy gifts to creators because it creates fomo; and more people will want to become “influencers” which then encourages everyday people
To start doing reviews in hopes of becoming like these people-so these brands end up getting a TON of free marketing.
Disgusting.
Ikr? Like she’s just another person on the internet. She needs to chill
no other brand is going to repost or reach out to her after this - i don’t understand why she’s so upset lol
She said she’s been reaching out to Lunar Beauty forever but then gets upset when they repost her? Given they should have asked for permission first, a repost from them is good exposure. You know how many people probably reach out to his brand to work with them? It surely wasn’t anything personal on their part if they never responded.
@@theoccultlibrarian5386
Her spamming her fave brand so they notice her: 😊😊😊
Her when they noticed her: 😠😤😭
yeah that was ridiculous. You're not entitled to a response from a brand so like... girl calm down. you look bad.
The more brands do this, the less I want to buy from these brands.
I’ve never liked glamzilla lmao, her mannerisms and personality always just made me angry. i knew my gut was right 😂
McKayla so shocked the dropped the accent 😂
Glamzilla is she for real 🤣🤣 the greediness level oh my god. Like how many of these you need??? Make a give away and get rid of unnecessary stuff! She’s cheeeeeap
See, a give-away with the sponges would have been really cute, and smart - even if she kept half, it would have come off better
I pop over here now and then to get some tea and that's it
Her wanting more blenders to give away even though she just got a ton is absolutely crazy
Influences need to be taxed on these extravagant gifts like how celebrities are taxed on pricey gift baskets.
It’s not like anybody trusted Makayla before… She clearly can be bought- she’s a sellout
🎉🎉 It's all one big advertisement. I wont watch a single influencer. I myself have less than 900 subscribers and I am grateful for every single one. I cannot stand these way overrated influencers. They're just paid for doing advertisements.
The brand hopes that the influencer will give them away to friends , family and subscribers -
And in turn those people will the rebuy from them
Sending influencers expensive gifts is just a way around them having to disclose they are paid partners!
The interesting thing about Mikayla is that she shows the camera the gift before she really even looks at it. It felt like she knew what it was or perhaps unimpressed?
I fully expect McKayla to say something bad about Basma… once it benefits her. You can’t buy her loyalty (and it’s all for the wrong reasons)
Glamzilla has become insufferable as hell. I don’t know if she’s coming off fake now or I’m catching it now.
pr has been a thing for a long time its honestly not that big of a deal.
Glamzilla has changed…
And on the Manny thing, if someone on his team reposted it w/out consent of her & him, then likely the same team members ignored her messages. Do we know the shoppable option was made aware to Manny also prior to his response? He should have reviewed the content b4 the reply but with the same sort of idea maybe he didn't know, irresponsible yes, but hopefully he will follow up/rectify this appropriately. As he himself said, he is also an 'indie' brand but has had the boost and support of a larger social media following.
the blush stick... honestly there are sold by a lot of people tbh
These influencers at this point are just so ridiculously out of touch with reality.
As someone who worked in influencer marketing from the brand side:
- Reposting (as a story) is fine AS LONG AS you aren’t actively profiting off of it.
