He actually wasn't lying. The FBI knew from day one that the laptop was real. All of the content was online before the FBI got the computer. It was verified easily but not made official. He doesn't want to burn the person in the FBI who verified it. The FBI was told to keep quiet until well after Biden got elected. The fact that you don't know any of this shows how effective the scheme was to keep everyone in the dark. As you've seen, when asked, she made sure not to say she didn't believe that it was real. She, just like everyone else, knew it was real from the start.
