You probably dont care but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all the latest series on Instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last few months xD
For those plastic push pins, best thing to do is to use flathead screwdriver to pry the head of the pin up, then itll come out easy. Or just break and get new lol. They sell them by the hundreds.
Hey, thanks Bruno. This is an old video, (#90) and I’m working on close to my 400th. Still learning and trying to improve. Stay safe, and thanks for stopping by.
I can't believe you had so much trouble with those clips. You simply pull the center post back about half way with a screwdriver then slide the screwdriver under the entire clip and it slides right out. So easy.
The author needs an auto clip / door panel removal tool (available for $5). I used that and had all the clips off in less than a minute. Also, the wheel well screws and nuts at the fender need a 7 mm socket. Overall a pretty easy job. You can have he bumper cover off in 5 minutes.
Thanks Paul. I have bought that tool since this video was posted a few years back. The right tool for the job makes it so easy & like you mentioned, many of these tools are pretty cheap.
Don't take bumper completely off. Just undo whatever is bolted to fender including inner fender liner. Then remove headlight. Then fender. That would be my order of steps. Wish you well!
@@unclemarksdiyauto About to get on it after I watch this once more. I'll let you know how I do, or if I have to get it done lol. I'm pretty sure I can get it.
Fun was had by all. Thanks for showing me how. Now to the shop for paint and it'll look brand new. The only other problem with my 2013 Impala is when I touch the gas peddle I'm at the next stop light before most of the other cars are just getting going....still a lead foot at 60!!!
Question i have a Monte Carlo LS (2006) and i was removing the bumper and the junkyard i went to had a Chevy Impala LS bumper. Could i fit that on my Monte? Or it has to be the matching car?
Headlights are hood are same part number on both cars. Bumper & fenders are different. Junk yard should be able to tell you for sure if bumper could fit. But I don’t know.
If your talking where bumper mounts to bottom of fender, a hardware store show have them. If it is the plastic black push pins, any automotive store, but I would take a sample with you.
It is. Though I'm pretty much just doing it as a experience plus it would be nice to have it fixed so far I'm just watching videos on how to do it correctly so that way when I have all the parts it needs to look beautiful again and not some car that looks like I just salvaged from the junkyard
@@ghostellaandghostvortex1549 That is a good idea! Glad you are willing to do it yourself! It is not very hard at all, especially if you are not rushed and maybe have a extra set of hands to help out. Hope your project goes well!
@@unclemarksdiyauto thanks and I hope so to honestly it's not my first or last project since I got a project car and a project truck but my main is getting my car fixed first
Pperhaps you should be watching how to videos instead of recording any. I'm surprised you didn't use a reciprocating saw It was frustrating to watch. Sorry to rant but I was hoping for a professional!
I appreciate your input Joe! If you try to take this apart and I edited out all the issues and problems I had, I honestly think you would be more frustrated as you proceeded to do the job yourself. (You may even have be mad that it looked easier than it will be) All the best either way Joe, I have learned much since this video. I have made about another 300 videos since this one, on various automotive subjects.
It helps if you actually know how to do something before doing a video on how to do something. Over half the video is just you fighting with the clips.
Sometimes, things don't go as planned. I think it is good to show that so people know what really is involved! Should I check out your videos to see how you do record them? Bet you don't have any how to videos posted! Am I right?
Wow! Thank you. It looks easy enough but I appreciate you went through the whole thing so I know what to expect! Great vid!
Always expect it to be harder! Hope it goes well.

@Felipe Brock Definitely, been using InstaFlixxer for months myself :D
That's all to it... yeah I'm just gonna save up and pay the shop. 😂 Great video though. Thank you.
It is good to know our limits! No shame in admitting it may be beyond our abilities, Night Wolf. Get some quotes first. All the best!

Thanks for that D&D! Next time I run across this, I will try it. I have since sold this car about 1 year ago. (Sold back in Oct 2020)
Actually a good tutorial
Thank you

Car has been on lots of gravel. Plastic seems sometimes to get gritty and stuck a little. Either way, I agree they are usually easy to install.

I have to replace that and my passenger side fender. Which should I start with?

Yes
@@SamYoungRadio thanks for info Sam.
Anything PRE 2006 will not fit the 2006 and up.. Chevrolet made the 2006 Mote Carlo Front Clip pretty much the same as the 2006 and up impala
where to buy the rivets ??

Thank you Lawrence! Hope the video helped you save some time & possible issues if you need to dismantle the bumper.
I have a wrecked impala and it needs the whole front end replaced even the headlights and tail lights
Sounds expensive!

A little sloppy work but I understand the job I would be doing it myself real soon on someone's car. Thanks for showing me what I have to get in too.
It's not that hard to do, just a big piece of bumper to handle without help.
A little lube helps to not break the plastic clips.
Good tip! Will do that next time for sure!
8 ads was a little much but thanks
So sorry. RUclips automatic number and placements. I will see what I can do.
Hope the video was of some help, Mike.

Never had one off before. Harder too without proper tools. But I got it off and back on!
2012 is different
I will retitle the video. Different shape bumper, or different mounts period?
