That might explain how Charles Lee Ray/Chucky was chased by the police in the beginning of the first movie. A notorious serial killer who always cover his tracks, just one day getting caught.
Hey guys interesting fact when I read Chucky's background it stated that when Tiffany got upset and found out He was killing people without her, she called the cops on him about his whereabouts the same time Sarah was kidnapped when she was pregnant with Nica, then also it starts off with detective Mike Norris Chasing him down the street while Eddie Caputo was waiting in the getaway van until he was chased by Mike's partner Jack. The Charles transfer his soul into the good guy doll... Eh y'all already know. But that's was something I wanted to share with you guys on the comments see ya.
This was kind of a massive pull since the original plot was that Detective Norris was undercover and Charles thought he pulled a knife on a woman but it was Norris in disguise. You can see Norris taking off his disguise in the beginning of Child's Play. This is a nice origin to the Lakeshore Strangler but very hard to fuse together the original as a believable tie in to the start.
I agree. He still could've had that connection with Nica's family, but the idea that the mum was the one who called the cops and led to the events of the first film is a bit unnecessary.

4:14 I thought it was cool that the iconic red voodoo knife from the first Child’s Play film made a comeback in this film, even though it’s a flashback. It’s even more interesting to know now that Chucky/Charles always had the knife before he became a doll. My theory is that he was given that one (from this clip) by John (Voodoo Doctor) when he was learning voodoo and maybe he lost it during the night he was gunned down and i think the one he had as a doll from the first film was a similar looking voodoo knife that he got from John’s apartment when he visited him in the first film.
I think the opening of the original is set a bit after this flashback. After Chucky escaped the hideout where he had Sarah he probably went on the run for a bit staying at Tiffany's most likely which will have been when he left the ring he stole from Vivian Van Pelt a woman he killed who he mentions in Bride. Tiffany thought the ring meant he was going to propose to her but Chucky actually just wanted to sell it. At the beginning of the original he was probably pulling a robbery or something with Eddie when Norris caught him.
But in a deleted scene we see Charles offering Sarah's husband a ride home before actually killing him. We never saw in the movie what happened to the father unless you watch the deleted scene. And Charles has his own car not the van Eddie drove. This actually turns it into a plothole how Eddie ended up in the picture, but perhaps that's why the scene was deleted because Eddie and his van were present during these events somewhere followed by Child's play 1
I LOVE the Chucky films, but I wish they would have gotten a younger actor to portray Charles Lee Ray in this scene, since it was supposed to have taken place in the late 80's....(30 years ago). I really love Brad Dourif, but it sort of pulled me out of the scene, seeing him here like this. Even the thick make-up they put on him couldn't really hide the fact that he was much older here (in his 60's) than in the opening scenes of the 1988 Child's Play (in his 30's). They could have used a younger body double/stand in, kept the sunglasses on to obscure his face, and just had Brad dub the voice (while the actor portraying him lip synched)
Or they could’ve done CGI to where they could digitally make him look exactly as he did in 88, but it’s an expensive procedure so they just did the old fashion makeup
@@Djarra No wonder Mark Hamill was chosen over Brad Dourif as Luke Skywalker in the 70s. The latter found something better in the 80s that is Child's Play. And in turn Hamill got involved as 90s animated Joker and also did Chucky in a reboot.

I don't think it was a coincidence that Charles became their neighbor. Clearly, it was his ideal to move to that apartment. Tiffany had no idea what was going on. Charles wanted to be close so he could watch the family's routine. In other words, stalking Sarah.

I would like to clarify a couple of things about the chant, even though I know by now most English-speakers won't believe me, probably because the truth is disappointing. I'm a Frenchman who knows a bit of creole (not necessarily Haitian creole, since I've lived in Guadeloupe and not in Haiti, but the different creoles from different French islands tend to share similarities even if they do have specifities). And I can tell that, contrary to what many English-speaking people believe, this chant is not French and is not creole either. It was actually made up by the writers of the first Child's Play movie. It is basically gibberish with some random French words added here and there (like "bois", meaning "wood", "morte", meaning "dead", or "beaucoup" meaning "a lot" in Cult of Chucky). It's meant to sound like French, but it not: it is a fictitious chant. It does have an official translation that you can find in the internet, but it's not based on something real. The only real part is the mention of Damballa, who is an actual Haitian god. The rest is entirely made up. And it's not obvisouly not Creole either. I know how Creole sounds like and it's definitely not like that, no matter what area we're talking about. Now, I know many people won't believe this, and will stubbornly cling to the belief that it's a real chant. I've seen that before. And honestly, I can understand. It's much more fun and thrilling to go on believing it's "maybe real", maybe an actual chant. But it isn't (except, like I said, the Damballa part). For us French people it is pretty obvious what the filmmakers were trying to do here (make up words that vaguely sound French), but I imagine it's not so obvious for English-speaking persons who would easily assume it is real. I hope I managed to help those who wondered what exactly the chant was, regardless what they WANT to think. And for those who wonder: in the French dub of the movies, the chant is the same (it therefore sounds like gibberish), except in Curse of Chucky, in which the translators turn the chant into actual French words ("Je prie les Dieux maléfiques de l'univers d'exaucer ma prière", etc). Voilà ! :) P.S.; In the season 3 of the Cucky TV series, Chucky says a chant that, for the very first time, actually means something in French (probably because the filmmakers now have access to internet, hence a translator), even though Brad Dourif pronounces it very poorly and it was hard to comprehend even to me.
I just noticed that Sarah was somehow handcuffed to the bed thing. Which begs the question, how would Sarah have called the cops? Cause this alluded that she was the one who called them. Or at least that’s what Chucky assumed. When in reality in the Chucky series, it’s revealed that Tiffany was the one who called the cops on him. Just because he started killing without her cause ”killing was an us thing”. Which in a way makes sense cause, by the looks of it.. I don’t think they’d be a way Sarah might’ve called them herself.
Tiffany was the one who called the cops. Charles had Sarah at his hiding spot. Tiffany didn't know about Sarah she thought that it was just where Charles goes to hide out. Charles just thought Sarah called
@LMAS1.0 I think charles was already planning to leave tiffany. You can tell how distant he was with tiffany since he had sarah prisoner. He was enjoying being with sarah rather than tiffany's. As for the ring he stole, I think he was going to use it to get money and leave. He was also probably planning to bring Sarah Barb and Nika with him. Tiffany unknowingly helped sarah. She clearly didn't know Charles was holding her captive.
Of course there’s gonna be some loopholes people. It’s not like they filmed this way back in 1988 and were like “hhhmmm let’s make sure by our sixth film in like 25 years we make sure this ties into that”
Seed of Chucky pretty much fucked up the franchise completely and ended the chances of chucky ever returning to the big screen unfortunately it has fallen into a straight to dvd franchise
@@CrazyManhog seed of chucky ruined the franchise and lost so much money as a result they cut down the budget due to the franchises credibility if they didn’t make seed of chucky or at least didn’t made it a complete joke chucky would’ve still been profitable
I‘m sorry but it‘s kinda stupid that they retconned this by making Tiffany the one who called the cops (revealed in the Chucky TV series). It weakens the whole revenge plot of this movie in my eyes.
I hate this film and I hate when sequels retcon the originals for the sake of it. We all know Charles Lee Ray was a serial killer, a criminal who was nicknamed "the notorious lakeshore strangler" in the original film. This film shows that he was a delusional, obsessive creepo who went psycho after being "betrayed" which led him to transfer his soul to the good guy doll? What a load of bs.
Yeah... this doesn't feel right to me. I honestly have a hard time believe a character like Charles Lee Ray cared for this weird family stuff. Chucky was always just a cynical bastard that loved doing bad things to people just because he enjoys it.
This Flashback in black and white, when ending, begins in child s play(1988) as Charles Lee Ray, now in a Good Guy Doll, begins with his thread and harm against The Barclay family. Including Andy.
I know people think this was tacked on, but his interaction with Barbara here, does raise an interesting plot point for Child's Play. Throughout the movie we only seen how Chucky's influence affected Andy before the big reveal. And he mainly acted as his regular self around Tyler in Child's Play 3. Yet when I saw Child's Play I often wonder how a foul mouth serial killer with dark dry wit and a really short temper would be able to tone himself down long enough to get people to trust him for further plans. Yet here, we see him. While we know that's Chucky as a human and already has a body count, but not only do they not know it, but Charles turned up a lot of soft charm, soft enough to gain the trust of a child that didn't know him. So that when he strikes, the child is none the wiser. Hence why he managed to keep her mother hostage, without Barbara noticing.
Sarah was Chucky's secret. It's funny how Tiffany had no idea that she unknowingly helped Sarah. Clearly, he was going to use the ring to get money and leave. No doubt planning to take Sarah and Barb and Nika with him. Which is probably the reason he said, "Don't wait up for me red." I guess after kidnapping Sarah, he was getting tired of Tiffany.
Voilà ! :)
P.S.; In the season 3 of the Cucky TV series, Chucky says a chant that, for the very first time, actually means something in French (probably because the filmmakers now have access to internet, hence a translator), even though Brad Dourif pronounces it very poorly and it was hard to comprehend even to me.
It took almost 30 years to get a backstory, amazing
This makes more sense now that I know what happened!
@@myaparker5510Yeah
@LMAS1.0 I think charles was already planning to leave tiffany. You can tell how distant he was with tiffany since he had sarah prisoner. He was enjoying being with sarah rather than tiffany's. As for the ring he stole, I think he was going to use it to get money and leave. He was also probably planning to bring Sarah Barb and Nika with him. Tiffany unknowingly helped sarah. She clearly didn't know Charles was holding her captive.
barb had a major glow up😍
That she did 😊
Barb was only little and Nica wasn’t born, still inside Sarah’s stomach, and the franchise had just started
Of course there’s gonna be some loopholes people. It’s not like they filmed this way back in 1988 and were like “hhhmmm let’s make sure by our sixth film in like 25 years we make sure this ties into that”
Chucky was a human being at once till he transfered his soul to a good guy
Yes, of course he was.
@@Meloentertainment90LOL U LIKED UR OWN COMMENT KID
Charles Lee Ray it's best Cereal Killer !
Now im hungry..😠🔪👍
Fiona though 😍
Yeah. I’m all for it except Eddie Capudo isn’t here so that’s a huge hole
Alejandro Padilla not necessarily. He was probably going to pick up Barbie with Eddie, hence why he was waiting.
I'm noticing a distinct lake of strangling from the Lakeshore Strangler here.
Lol 😂

I gasped so hard in the movie theater when I saw the twist, even though it wasn't, just wowed..🔪❤
First time I saw this movie I flipped when they revealed that this was why Chucky was being chased in the first movie 😃
Detective Norris from the first movie (Child’s Play 1988)
1:12 THE GREEN GOBLIN!
Woooooow
The origin’s very interesting but what drove chucky to become a serial killer?
As alfred once said:
"Some people just want to watch the world burn."
He had father abuse
Childhood trama, he had no friends, only dolls..Dead silence reference
Well the tv series explains that.He has a personality disorder

0:09 Charles looks like Tommy Wisue.
Very high quality cinema.
Again. Chill dude HD movies been around since like... 2007
How could she have called them while tied up like that?
I was wondering that too!!
she probably told someone before hand, and the police went off on that tip. it's a probability
my guess is he untied her for some time for "behaving good" not freaking out, so she took that time to call the cops while he was gone
I always though she scram for hours..or worst
Tiffany was the one who called. She didn't know about Sarah. She was just angry that he killed without her.
The flashback of Charles lee ray and how he became Chucky the killer doll
She betrayed me got me killed But I knew a way to come back 4:41
Sounds like jail if jail meant dieing on the inside..
Why wasnt this in theaters.... this movie was so good and scarier then Buddis story
Because of Seed of Chucky
Seed of Chucky pretty much fucked up the franchise completely and ended the chances of chucky ever returning to the big screen unfortunately it has fallen into a straight to dvd franchise
Amen 🔪
@@rickyrosay33977 So they baned them from doing movies in theaters again or?
@@CrazyManhog seed of chucky ruined the franchise and lost so much money as a result they cut down the budget due to the franchises credibility if they didn’t make seed of chucky or at least didn’t made it a complete joke chucky would’ve still been profitable
"Difficult to find they're not exactly in season"
*fills a whole room with them*
So, they rebooted/retcon the original child's play beginning?
yes?
Retcon, yes. Reboot, no
Who felt bad for Charles that he had to run and get away only to turn into a doll
407: I heard Cult of Chucky and Curse of Chucky didn’t go to theaters. I forgot why but it’s true
Because of seed of chucky
But it would be cool if it was in theaters
I‘m sorry but it‘s kinda stupid that they retconned this by making Tiffany the one who called the cops (revealed in the Chucky TV series).
It weakens the whole revenge plot of this movie in my eyes.
Charles didn’t know though
Sad scene
Jem-Kimber-Aja-Shana I still don’t get it

Tommy wiseau?
Weird al?
Ozzy Osborne?
I hate this film and I hate when sequels retcon the originals for the sake of it. We all know Charles Lee Ray was a serial killer, a criminal who was nicknamed "the notorious lakeshore strangler" in the original film. This film shows that he was a delusional, obsessive creepo who went psycho after being "betrayed" which led him to transfer his soul to the good guy doll? What a load of bs.
This backstory doesn’t really makes sense when you think about it
Yeah... this doesn't feel right to me. I honestly have a hard time believe a character like Charles Lee Ray cared for this weird family stuff. Chucky was always just a cynical bastard that loved doing bad things to people just because he enjoys it.
He didn't want a family. He just liked killing them.
Comment 300: Out of all the Chucky films, my favorite is Seed.
im so freeking scared and amazed
I was surprised when i finds out is Fiona his daughter !
Until Chucky was friendzoned.

Abby's World Yes
She;s in a wheel chair because Charles stabbed the woman's stomach and somehow she was still born. She would've died in the belly though
Sabrina Gudino because he’s a sick guy
That's right.
@@adrianasabode1583 maybe when he stabbed her stomach, inside IT stabbed her leg
Which is probably the reason he said, "Don't wait up for me red."
I guess after kidnapping Sarah, he was getting tired of Tiffany. He wasn't spending time with Tiffany anymore because he was spending more time with Sarah.
Wasn't Brad's daughter in this movie?
Yes she played Nica
2:55 CHARLES: Are you gonna keep her from me too because...
That will be very hurtful to me??
And you won't wanna see me get hurt, won't you??
ME: Of course not Charles, she won't wanna see you get hurt, especially right now because she and her family will never see you ever again in 25 years and that will be a good thing for them because the only thing that you do is ruined everybody's happy life and this punishment will take care good of you for now!!
So, don't keep the devil waiting, old friend!! 😈😈😈

Plot twist:The kid looked like Tarzans daughter XD
this changes everything
Man was zoned out at the start that’s how you know he a creep
_+_ I love this movie
Yuck ay not like chuky
So high quality movie.
Know we know she didn't call the cops tiff did as stated in the show really makes it more sad
This is a story about a serial killer who was shot and gunned down by the police in a toy store and ends up using a magic spell to transpose his spirit inside of a doll
Yh doesn't make sense
Human Charles is more terrifying before he became a doll
I didn't like this backstory. It made Charles Lee Ray look like an obsessed stalker idk.
I agree, i thought he was just a killer, nothing more
Agreed, doesn't really explain why he was with tiffany if he was doing this and Eddie caputo was his partner and his driver that night, also would've liked them to elaborate on his voodoo practices in a serious manner.
Most serial killers are. Its kinda part of the job description. We see chucky as this ultra cool guy who swears alot but in reality, he most likely was an anti social loner who slowly turned in a violent, charismatic killer. Its not surprising hes like this.
Everybody's a stalker to the ones you love...that really sounds bad..😁🔪
4:15 the knife.
familiar?
Where have I seen it before? 🤔🤔🤔
Charles Lee Ray looks like Tommy Wiseau when he’s in human form instead of his doll form.
