Nah, many of us never did. I wouldn't say it's necessarily something you need to experience not to be a complete spoiled brat. I was just usually put in time-out for tantrums (when I was still a small child) and grounded when I got bad grades. Being unable to play video games for at least a week (or more) really sucked for me back then.

Girls would usually throw tantrums having their electronics taken away and boys would just enter their emo phase. At least that’s the kids I knew who got punished.

One thing that also sucks is having parents that are divorced. If you get in trouble at school, your mother will yell at you and then when you see your father, he’ll do the same so you get to lectures instead of one. But that’s not the worst punishment I’ve seen a friend of mine was starting to get into the phase of liking girls, and he really wanted to impress one during his teenage years. His parents didn’t want him to date quite yet because he was immature, which I understood but the one thing I didn’t understand was why they for his punishment made him wear a bikini to a beach party that he was going to, that was just wrong on their end
