It likely means you have a “nameless” account. Basically, when you made your Fortnite account you opted not to make an epic games account. So now you just do that and then they will be linked.
for those who dont get it becuase they have a 16 digit code redeem on epic games and then they send you an email to your account that is linked to your google account which has the 12 digit code. Hope this helped
