I am sure happy you have the confidence to nariate your work, You have an excellent voice and good delivery on your videos. Also, I enjoy seeing how you make your videos like when you showed your new camera swing arm mount. Also this oiler is a very good idea, I need to make a similar apparatus for my Lathe too.
UPDATE. I have found it is best to use P.T.F.E plumbing tape on the threads of the front oil cup rather than the Dowty seal and O Ring shown. Also I use a fibre washer rather than a Dowty seal on the thread that screws into the bearing housing.
Good idea, I am going to do something similar .It's a pity that there is not a better way of oiling the tail stock and all of the other oiling points as they seem very hard to oil with the oil gun . Great video.
Excellent! But please forgive me Steve, is there any need for the seals on the top of the bar at all? Apart from to get the correct position? it’s gravity fed and the threads protrude down into the bar.
I just use the same type of cotton wicks that you would use in a lighter. You can buy them on eBay. If the bore that the wick goes through is tight that would prevent it working?
Hi I only use the ISO 32 Hydraulic oil....it doesn't matter which brand, but I use a good quality non recycled one. I found it is fairly inexpensive to buy. I also use an additive Molybdenum Di-sulphide.....the one made for car engines, to keep everything running smooth.
I’ve just got my old challenger running again and it’s got its original cups I have never used a lathe that had bronze bushing what kind of oil should I be using
Hi Andrew in the Myford lathe manual it says Hydraulic ISO 32 oil. That's what I use, but don't get caught by people saying you have to use a particular brand, like some think. Any ISO 32 is perfect for the bearings. You can buy it on Ebay or get it from agricultural /farm shops. Regards Steve
That’s that sorted I feel a lot happier I inherited the lathe from my grandad now it will be protected properly I had been using 3in1 for the past few days as I thought we have 50 litres for our forklift

Great idea, Steve... nicely done. Thanks for showing the detail. John
+John Raffe Thanks.
Thank you Steve. I did almost the same oilers for my ML7.
Hi Bruno Thanks. That's great. It saves a lot of oil using this type of oiler. Regards Steve

+wykecastlewelding Thanks, I have just fitted a concave oiler button on the tailstock which seems to be easier to use than the ordinary ones.

It saves the threads from bottoming out in the bar screwing up tight against the seal an looks neater.
Very interesting, thank you.
Hi Mathew, Thanks. I have just designed and made some new wick feed oilers for the lathe. Hope to do a video on this soon. Regards Steve
SOMEBODY KNOWS, HOW IS THE PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING THE OIL TANK, OR OIL CUP? PLEASE
Hi
Saw you video on drip feed oiler I have made one very similar to yours but I can’t get it to drip any oil is the wick a specific type
Cheers

What oil do you use with the old myford bearings? any tips on setting up the drip oilers? thank you.

Hi,I have these oil drip feed for my Myford ML7 lathe, just wanting to know if the top leaver turn down then it's off?
Hi yes that is right as long as the adjustment isn't up too tight. So when the lever is down it springs shut.
I’ve just got my old challenger running again and it’s got its original cups I have never used a lathe that had bronze bushing what kind of oil should I be using

Steve Jordan thanks I think we use that on our forklift at work I will have to see if I can get the old cups out and do a setup like yours
