Definitely going to try it. We've been addicted to Harvest Moon: Magical Melody, and this looks similar enough.
Just bought it! On sale for $35 on the eshop currently.
It's even further discounted to $15. I think I'm gonna give it a whirl. Lacks the romance sim element but these days that's not such a bad thing.
I'm so happy you reviewed this game, no-one is bothering for some reason and it went completely under the radar when it deserves so much more, it's a brilliant game! Harvest moon/story of seasons is one of my favourite franchises of all time. Love this channel, keep it up!

I wonder if it was because of the relatively unknown IP outside of Japan and the fact there was no one you could marry, which is a staple of all the others in this series...? Those are the two big reasons I've held off on this game.
I'm currently playing Rune Factory 4 Special and I definitely like it, but the JRPG and fantasy setting is kind of putting me off a bit. That and the marriageable female candidates just don't do it for me; guess I'm not a young teen and the idea of marrying a "girl" that looks younger than my youngest daughter is probably what is killing that game for me. Perhaps just playing this game, where marriage is just entirely removed, isn't such a bad idea after all.

Oh my goodness, I can relate. I picked this up with the intent of it just holding me over until the FOMT remake comes out, but I haven’t thought of other games since. So glad I picked this one up. Perfect for a 5 minute gaming session or 5 hours haha 😅

*Update (3 days after purchasing) Plant, fertilize, water and harvest. Rinse and repeat. Chickens loving me. Chopping trees, breaking stone, pulling weeds, catching insects, fishing, mining, updating farm structures and now stocking kitchen. Still need sheep and cows but workload is intense. What has happened to my Life? 😀 Loving this game ❤

Just now, I searched for a review, clicked on the first one I saw - dude started off by basically saying it's a bad game, then I was like "Oh, nvm, this is IGN". Checked the comments "yup", closed the video and found this review. Glad I didn't listen to the first one.
This game was 50% off during PlayStation store's 2020 end of year sale. My husband knows I love Doraemon so he bought it for me. I now live a double life as a city dweller and a farmer in Natura.
I really wished Story of Season - Friends of Mineral Town remake has this kind of graphics.
But what a let down, it still use an old super deformed style....

I really hope that this game sets the standard for Story of Seasons games to come. I truly don’t care about Doraemon much (didn’t grow up with it, no interest in it), but the style of this game is Beautiful.
This game’s style makes me think of the older HM games Save the Homeland and A Wonderful Life. It has such an appealing color palette, and is cute without being too cutesy. I feel like so many of the most recent SoS games give up charm and style for being cutesy and heavily customizable.
If we can get an SoS game that looks like this but plays like a regular SoS game (in terms of characters and being able to date and stuff)- I’ll be thrilled.
Great game indeed andni was quite the same as you. I had no real affinity to the story but i liked the style of game and had me entertained the moment i started playing it.

Great review Juan. Wasn't sure about this one, but now this has me interested. Though I do find the stamina stuff in these types of games frustrating.
Actually it is doing it better then is others i think. You can take a 'nap' anytime to restore some stamina or just to let time pass by fast

I just discovered the doraemon version (been playing HM now SOS since gradeschool). I would have bought this over SOS FOMT if only I knew. SO INLOVE WITH THE GRAPHICS!!

I played the demo and absolutely fell in love with the visuals. Im a tad worried Id be addicted so might have to pass on it for now. Plus, really cant afford it right now (prob a good thing). Its def one of the better looking farming simulators out there.

Great review Juan. I imported the Japanese version when it was released, I love the watercolour-esque style it makes it feel very relaxing.
Once Animal Crossing is released you will need to keep that giveaway switch lite to play both simultaneously!

I found the best thing to do was Mine, upgrade pickaxe to copper then buy big back pack, upgrade pickaxe to silver upgrade back pack to gigantic. Then start farming and upgrading everything else
Yup that's the way to go although I didn't know that at first and ended up putting all my time into crops

By the way: It is not like Harvest Moon. It is the original Harvest Moon. What you now can buy as HM is only the name. The game needed to be changed to "Story of Seasons" due to selling rights.
I'm still are the beginning of the game, and I prefer this one to the new story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town.

I would like to ask you a question.
I have recently started playing this game and I find that this game the balance is off
Like the cow costs 12000
The cow food is 30
The profit from milk is 30 and I know this is just beginning.
Instead of farming I feel that after watering the plants I have to go to the mines daily
and I find it very tedious.
Any advice?

Great review by the way. But I got 3 ads for anime stuff. 1 was 25 minutes, another 15 minutes. Usually I watch all the ads to show my thanks, but I had to skip them, sorry!
We don't control the, wish we could choose what we put on. Think there is 2 or 3 ads in this video as its 13 mins long but we don't control what shows on the vids. Would be cool if we had that choice. Appreciate the support buddy

I hadn't heard of Doraemon & Co outside of this, but I'm a huge fan of classic Harvest Moon. As well, I enjoyed the demo. Would I continue to like the whole game? If there's too many anime/manga references they would be lost on me...
Rhere is a few but it doesn't matter pal. It's the gameplay that matters most and there is bags of it here.

Damn this looks so cool.. I was addicted to Stardew and put 140hrs in it. Very tempted by this, does it have some lovely ladies to woo and marry? :)
This game doesn't have a marriage option, but that is made up for more then enough by characters events that connect to each other to an overall story. Personally i find it a very nice change, instead of having all lose character events, this one is working towards one big story. Doing the marriage thing can be done again in the next Story of Seasons. In this one I had more then enough to do and a lot of fun, that i didn't miss it.

Good effort. The IGN RUclips review, said that there was no way to eventually automate things like crop watering. That'd kinda be a deal breaker to me. But apparently, there _are_ ways, you just have to play the game and figure it out. _(edit: the IGN reviewer didn't seem to like the genre much, so probably wasn't motivated to play to that extent)_
(I kinda wish I didn't have to think about that, specifically, because I think it'd motivate me to find those mechanism before really getting into farming. I just wanna know they're there _somewhere.)_

play Fallout 76 if you want online multiplayer. the Sims and Doraemon: Story of Seasons online offline mode so stupid these two game got no online feature.

First is does this game has that same vibe with stardew valley that it kinda rushes your day and you tend to not do things on time because the day ends so so fast I love stardew valley btw but that issue really pisses me off, I want my day to be longer.

Idk what's wrong with my game but there's literally no one in stores. Already checked those schedules and im visiting them in time. But still, they're not selling anything. Just one-sentence replies every single time. They're not even standing at the front. Idk if thats a bug or something like that but a season has passed and still nothing.

After playing Stardew Valley for hundreds of hours, no farm sim game is the same to me.
I personally don't like the design of the Doraemon characters and lack of customization for your character (skin color, hairstyle, personal name). Definitely not for me even but the review is appreciated since this did interest me

@@westleya111 absolutely agree, back in the day I used to buy a magazine and it would come with a disc with 6 or 7 demos. Was excellent as you would buy games based on the demo. I think it's great when you can download and try b4 you buy.
