Kyrenia was built by the first Greeks, the Mycynaeans who came to Cyprus after the Trojan War. Its population before the invasion of Turkey were mainly Greek Cypriots. Cyprus is not divided but invaded by Turkey. Turkey has committed genocide against the local Christian Cypriots so that they can create a muslim Turkish state in Cyprus. The Turks have stolen Christian Cypriots homes and villages and changed their names and addresses. They have stolen our Christian churches to make them mosques and they took Greek ancient archaeological sites to make money from them.

If somebody reacts to the attacks of the Turks and to protect his family he kills the attackers this is not genocide, this is legal defense. To the contrary the Turkish soldiers in 1974 entered a factory in Karpasia and raped and killed all the women who were working in that factory. In Lapithos and Karavas greek villages they were breaking into the houses and killing men like my 80 year old great grandfather that was killed by a Turkish soldier with a bullet at the back and hitting and raping women. I know my great grandmother 70 years old was stabbed with a rifle and her house was totally destroyed by the Turkish army. Women who survived death came to the free areas to the south of Cyprus and told the truth. Efrosyni Proestu an old woman who suffered torture by the Turkish soldiers was dragged naked in all the village of Lapithos to say where Greek Cypriots were hiding to escape death. The Turkish hit her very hard and she was forced to leave her house and village. She escaped death because she was the woman who gave birth to a Turkish Cypriot who finally recognized it. And many many other Greek Cypriots were forced to leave their homes and villages or they were killed by the Turkish soldiers.
