      I see some people doing pretty amazing things I cannot do and I want to learn how they do it. We all should have a mindset of wanting to keep learning. That's what made America great - free people each pursuing their passions and interests and creating progress organically as free people. Government is for lazy people.

    Next time when you're putting glue in a crack try sticking a thin piece of plastic, tape or paper in the crack to work the glue around. It really helps work the glue far down in the crack.

    Very nice! (and those hand trucks too). I built one like that out of walnut (twenty years ago, ha). It hangs on a giant oak and is six feet long (so you can lay down). I enjoyed the music too. Thanks.

    There are a bunch of bunnies in the briar patches at the park around the corner from me. They’re always out of the patches, and munching on the grass in the open area. Sometimes in the morning when I go for a walk I’ll bring my vegetable scraps (lettuce, celery, carrots, etc.) and toss them along the edge of the patches as an extra treat for them. 😁

    Found a huge floor mirror with the fancy carved wooden frame, took it home cleaned it and re stained it in a light red mahogany.

    Awesome job Brad! Watching you repurpose that old porch swing into a bench is genius! Giving thrown away things new life! This reminded me of spending time with my Papaw, when I was a boy we would go to the local dump and find treasures others had thrown away and he would repair or repurpose thing's and give them to whoever could use them. Growing up poor can have some great advantages, that old dump and finding treasures with my Papaw was priceless! He is dearly missed! Today I can't pass by a garbage dump or junkyard without thinking about what treasures might be there! Thanks for rekindling some great memories Brad! If more folk's were like you and saved disregarded items the world would be a better place!

    • @TheGuitologist
      @TheGuitologist  2 года назад +1

      My Papaw would save everything. He would find a way to repair something you thought he should just throw away and he'd get another 10 years of use out of it. He had a deal with the local grocery store to pick up all their discarded vegetables that were bruised they couldn't sell. Kept his hogs fed for free. I miss him every day and I wish I could be more like him. Papaws are irreplaceable.

    On a side note, I have a question for you since your knowledge on amps is beyond most expert’s… I know you don’t like some Mesa’s, love other’s. And if I remember rightly, you think Dumble’s are overrated?
    Have you heard of the KittyHawk’s? They were made in Germany back in the 80’s. More particularly the Amp, Standard, & Custom versions are the one’s I’m asking about. The very first 20 named just ‘KittyHawk’ were actually Dumble’s. The one’s I’m asking you about aren’t. I’d love to know your opinion on these amps!

      I’m thinking of just converting my combo into a head & cab anyway, so I don’t think this is too much of a problem. It’s already been modified to be closer to the KittyHawk Standard… But if we wasn’t an ocean apart, I’d look at sending you it over to see what you think, & possibly look at where it could be improved. It’d of been good to get your opinion on them!

      @@TheGuitologist .....And while we're at it, let's just take everything that isn't NEW! NEW! NEW! every 5 minutes and toss it all in the land fill. All of the solid wood furniture, all of the analog radios and stereo gear, all of the guitars with a broken string or a truss rod that's out of whack, or maybe a loose bridge, and don't forget the tube amps. The Alzheimer potato head has killed the supply of the stuff we need, so all the tweeds, the blackfaces, the Marshalls and all the others have got to go. (We can download an app and play guitar into our ear buds) Let's round up all of the awesome old Fords, Chevy's, and Mopars, let's throw them in the crusher, send the scrap steel to China, and buy it back from them in the form of paper clips and tuna fish cans, right? We can put electrified fences around all the dumpsters and junkyards, then post armed guards at the gates. Let's pull all of the paper books off the library shelves, shred them and make wall insulation for the new shoebox houses and coffin apartmens. The Ministry of Truth can revise the new digital copies of everything once a month to keep the flow of information politically correct, just like Orwell predicted.
      (How do you like the New World Order so far?)
      ...........Or, we could all start doing exactly what you just did here with everything we can find that can be fixed, and then either sold, traded or kept. Walmart, and all the others would panic once we started voting with our wallets and stopped feeding the Communist Chinese Global beast.
      People who say "Oh well, that's just the way it is, and there's nothing we can do about it," and "Oh well, it is what it is," make me sick. I wasn't raised that way, neither were you, and I thank God there are millions of others who weren't either. Stay the course, my friend.
      I love your squirrels and rabbits. I bet your have way more species of birds where you live than we've got out here in Vegas. Critters play a vital role in preserving our sanity when we live in a demented slaughterhouse full of demonic lunatics.
