  • Hai. For some reason not enough people are playing this deck right now. Pure race is really popular, but this version is underrated.
Decklist is shown at the end of the video.
Some explanations are in the pinned comment.
The music is all original soundtracks from the Touhou game series. I just like the music, it's very cool.

    Some Explanations:
    - Playing 60 cards including the snake eye engine allows this deck to have a lot more pushes into handtraps going 1st. Sometimes pure rescue ace will open multiple starters, and they become redundant if the opponent doesn’t handtrap you in the place you want them to. This version gives you better use for extra resources. The snake eye cards generally get used to make apolousa, forcing any handtraps from the opponent, then the rescue ace cards get played after. Snake eye ash can do apolousa + turbulence by itself, which is why I think it is wasted potential to play pure race.
    - The aurorodon combo is another way to use resources to make a strong board. The karakuri is the best in my opinion because it puts a negate (herald) on the field to keep you safe from evenly matched and duster, which regular race is weak to. The downside is that you have to play the karakuri brick, as well as jet synchron and o-lion. Jet and o-lion are not the worst draws ever, but they aren’t good.
    - Barricadeborg blocker is such a good card. Letting you discard a card for free is actually good all the time.
I like playing 3 impulse + fire attacker + fire engine. Drawing extra race cards is always good since hydrant on its own doesn’t get to summon turbulence outside of discarding it for barricadeborg then reviving it with princess (which is a play you would rather avoid).
    - Impulse is usually always good. When you go 2nd, it gives you an extra chance to find handtraps, or bait called by and ash. It also can sometimes summon fire engine, which can summon air lifter, which then can summon preventer from your hand, similar to how lab can play immediately on the opponents turn if you draw enough monsters. Going 1st impulse is just an extra handtrap which is also a rescue ace name for turbulence or emergency if you need it.
    - Turbulence is a good draw, same for hydrant, so I like playing multiple of both.
    - HQ makes the difference between no grind game, and infinite grind game. It also lets you summon turbulence in 1 special summon under maxx c sometimes, instead of needing 2. Its worth the slot for me.
    - Overall I am not sure if this is actually better than 40 card pure race, but its definitely stronger and has a better chance of outplaying the opponent, especially with the pushes it has going 2nd. The biggest issue is that it sometimes bricks. You can make the deck less bricky by cutting cards like HQ, fire engine, and then changing which auroradon combo you go for so that you don’t require as many bricks.

The best use of the Snake-Eye line in R-ACE is probably in setting up the Link plays without having to use your R-ACE monsters to do it with(it's usually useful to leave Fire Engine and Attacker on the field when possible, especially if you have an I:P or Preventer up). It's probably even MORE important to see HQ when running this extra engine so you can use your extra Normal on Air Lifter or Hydrant as needed, I remember running 2 of it before Emergency came out and the Snake-Eye engine was practically needed to have ANY kind of consistency in the deck, though in the Poplar only build I've settled for 1 now despite the risks.
I've always found the Aurorodon combos WAY more fragile than a standard R-ACE line, and never appreciated opening the Tuner bricks. It's still a neat option to do AFTER you've set up your board though, so it's fine to have it as long as you don't tunnel into trying to do it before your main plays. You always want to play Barricadeborg Blocker regardless as a discard outlet, and situations where you have to protect or even recover the Field Spell with it CAN come up, though they're exceedingly rare(and if the recovery option somehow isn't too slow then you're probably in the middle of a topdeck war).
HQ is the only way R-ACE has a proper grind game, so I find AT LEAST 1 HQ is required to have a chance against certain decks(usually backrow heavy ones). Going into 60 it's fine to play a spare in case 1 gets banished, having 2 in rotation also means you can potentially draw twice in a turn, and more importantly by rotating between the 2 it essentially cuts the cost to draw again down by 1 since you can put back the other HQ each time. This is EXTREMELY helpful for situations like the mirror or more "Standard" Snake-Eye builds that can rebuild a board in the blink of an eye.
I've also found you don't really want or need too many extra resources for specifically going first with Rescue-ACE, and that's it's better to play some going second cards that have utility when going first, like being able to self-Super Poly into Mudragon for full anti-targeting coverage, hand ripping with Talents, or using Thrust to set a Silvera from deck if you opened a spare Witch(or Wanted with one) to help protect your backrow from board breakers(and in some cases you might even have to set a R-ACE Trap if you don't get a hand good enough to cover your Turbulence play), and of course being able to hold hand traps for the opponent's turn(or add them with things like Fire Attacker or Heatsoul if you choose to play them).
S:P is already often enough to cover against everything from targeted options against Turbulence to a surprise Nibiru so there's less need to focus on covering your turn 1 setup than before it came out. Evenly Matched is probably your biggest threat in that regard so Lancea might arguably be the best hand trap at directly protecting your established board(while also limiting opposing setup/recovery options), though I can't say I've needed it that often unless the opponent was on something like Runick, Kashtira or Branded.
That said in terms of hand traps it's better to focus on running Veilers over Imperms because Impulse and Turbulence can make it difficult to play Multiples of Impermanence at a time, but for the most part the hand traps played in this should be ones that can beat other hand traps and anti-hand trap tech(so basically Ash Blossom, Gamma and Ghost Belle).

Maybe it’s due to the amount of bricks you need to run in a typical Rescue-ACE Snake-Eye deck makes it not as popular of a deck in the meta currently.
Even with the upcoming content coming like the new Fire King Cards, Valmonica, Exceed the Pendulum, and the new Odd-Eyes and Sky Striker cards, I think Rescue-ACE is still going to be strong.
Just due to the amazing payoff of Resolving Turbulence and getting set-up is enough to overwhelm in advantage in most cases.
Outside of anti-meta decks like Kyouto Waterfront Kaiju and Stun (plus bricking in otherwise winnable matchups), a 60 card Rescue-ACE Snake-Eye Deck is not too shabby.
I like the Spice you put in for the Auroradon plays and even including the Karakuri synchro package. I would’ve never considered using Karakuri Bureido until seeing it in action watching.
Good showcase! If there’s anything you’re interested in trying out in the next big selection pack, are you planning on making some decks and showcases?

fireking is interesting. the rest of the pack is just bad rouge deck cards. Valmonica has a real deck, but its still not great.

Rescue Ace is a weird one, i've been playing this deck at 40, 50, and 60 cards....the least bricky version for me is right at 50 cards, I only play 2 poplar, 3 diabel, and 1 OSS. I'd love to have more of the snake-eyes engine but man there's a lot of hands that end up being sub optimal.

    • @metalmariomega
      @metalmariomega Месяц назад

You usually want to play over 40 to avoid seeing the Spell/Traps you want to set as often. They're not AS terrible to see if you opened a Hydrant, but each set less than 4 you can make weakens your board by an annoying increment. I can manage 45 if I choose not to play Monitor or Reinforce at all and just run 2 Impulse, but then I'm left without a lot of non-engine space, and you really want some room for hand traps in case of Duster or Evenly Matched, and having more draws you can use immediately off a Fire Attacker can be real helpful at times.
