The Face and Eye Tracking thing was the most interesting thing i really hope the Quest 4 has both of those things plus superior battery life too and oled displays.
Man I really wanna buy a VR headset especially the Quest 3. And its not cheap. But seeing everyone already talking I feel reluctant. What if they announce the Quest 4 next year?
@SamS.7598 I would probably wait until the Quest 4 comes out. But then again there is nothing to not like about the Quest 3. I love my Quest 3 and it's the best headset I've owned by far. That said if I were you I'd wait for the Quest 4 because it's rumored to have Face and eye tracking.
@@Magidiny123 The Quest 4 is said to be released in 2026. That's almost a 2 year period seeing that Meta usually announce their new products in October. I am rather waiting for better pass through, AR functionalities and better resolution and processing power than eye and face tracking stuff. I guess it depends on how cheap quest 3 would be. If it drops below 450$ or even to 400 I would buy it in a jiffy, seeing that quest 4 would prolly be well above 500$ on release.
Batman is easily on my top 3 favorites. Saints and sinners too me still has the most satisfying melee combat. My second favorite is medieval dynasty new settlement which is super relaxing. And Batman is an amazing achievement for what is possible on a mobile gaming device and has the theme and atmosphere down pat. As for the Quest 4, I'm still satisfied with the Quest 3, eye tracking for me is a want not so much a need to have. But loving these vr news articles 😊❤
eye and face tracking are certainly a cool feature to have in mind for the quest 4, however I much prefer meta to keep on focusing on improving the cameras, performance, battery, and display as at the end of the day that is what makes a good VR headset. the Quest 3 certainly nailed it with these 4 things, and I love this idea of making 1 flagship and 1 budget, as it makes meta quest accessible to all people.
Eye tracking can improve performance vastly, especially on a standalone device with limited hardware resources by rendering stuff that you won't see sharply anyway at low resolution. In return, that allows for better graphics. Would be a shame if the next major Quest still wouldn't have it.
@@Key_Capz_ I like that idea of full wide eye screen. I hope that the quest 4 if they can't improve the 4 major priorities, that I listed. That they can at least improve ergonomics and power efficiency and or battery life of the VR headset.
My single biggest disappointment with the Quest 3 is a lack of eye-tracking; foveated rendering is such a cool feature to be able to do, not only for game rendering performance, but also for freeing up video streaming bandwidth for pcvr. I've been wanting to do VR development for a very long time, and when I finally have time for it, I really want to be able to take advantage of eye-tracking. Here's hoping they have it in the Quest 4
The only way I'll upgrade from the quest 3 at this point is OLED screens and eye tracking. Ideally, it'll also have expandable storage and new self tracked controllers.
Definitely excited to Quest4 facial tracking. Going to be pretty cool to chat with ppl and they can see your avatar's facial expressions. I would even love if they add like ankle straps to track legs so they can track entire body movement
Just want to say if META is screwing with the Devs we as the consumers should send a message and make it very clear to stop that bullsht! #supportthedev FIX IT @META #meta You can do this by submitting a ticket to support right in your headset! or Hit them on social media. I really want to know if i should buy the quest 3 at this point. Ive had a quest 2 since 2022 and feel like upgrading. But the thing that worries me is that the quest 4 will release in the next 2 years and i will once again have an outdated vr
im feeling similarly tbh, i only got my quest 2 recently, but i got it secondhand so it has issues that id prefer not be there like lense scratches and stuff like that. i don't think it's too bad to be in an outdated vr until they completely stop updating games in that vr. i think itll be a while until that happens for the quest 3 since its still pretty new
I think 2 years is the most likely timeframe...so depends if you can hold out without mixed reality/q3 exclusives, If you use your headset most days I think you will get your monies worth out of it for the extra features, but depends what you mostly do in the headset....If you use headset a lot for internet, movies, youtube etc then the pankake lens in the q3 make reading text so much better
There's always going to be something new upcoming. Are you happy with your quest 2? Then you can make do. If you want to upgrade, then you can jump ahead and maybe even sell the quest 2 to recoup some of the cost. I'm happy with my Quest 3 being new to VR. Personally I'd probably make do with the Q2 and upgrade to the Q4 or see if something else tempts me later on, but you may think differently.
Microsoft has their heads so far up their a- their you-know-whats that they can't even see how profitable an official VR port for the Meta Quest would be. Keep in mind, the Quest 2 outsold Xbox in 2021, and now Microsoft is even partnering with Meta, so there is no financial reason not to make an official port. Minecraft would no doubt become the #1 headset-seller for the Meta Quest. No competition.

Just a heads up, shave and stuff and pets and stuff are on sale. But only to the people that aren't banned from accessing sales on the meta store like myself. Since April i've not had access to one single sale they've had. And there's quite a few people in the same boat as myself. It's absolutely terrible that they are doing that to certain customers. I wish one of the big meta youtubers would do a video about it. Meta's stance is that these sales are for "random" customers. But that's an absolute lie.

Got my Q3S today! (after i had to wait 1 Week for UPS..) I rly like it so far, i think its a great "addon" to my PSVR2. But damn i hate the Meta Phone App already. Its full of Things i never ever gonna check out, confusing and drains my battery way to fast lol. And somehow i dont get the 30 Bucks Store Cash from using a Creator Link.. (hope it just takes some time) Also im rdy for Batman!
i hope for quest 4 they move the processor and battery to a belt clip. would allow the headset to be lighter, and they could put a much faster chip in a belt clip mounted box (they probably wont though)
I think the future is in eye tracking and foveated rendering - a technique where they only render what you're looking at in full resolution, and everything else is low resolution. As a player, you never notice it, but it makes it to where you can run MUCH better looking games on lower end hardware. This would increase battery life, game fidelity, and make bigger open world games like Skyrim or GTA possible in a standalone headset like Quest.

Im certain quest 4 will use eye tracked foveated rendering, it helps graphics.... but it will not help the limited cpu performance (something that higher wattage chips like snapdragon x elite have solved). john carmack (doom, wolfenstien 3d, quake), John carmack did a great video on eye tracked foveated rendering, back when he was still one of the major developers at occulus. and did mention cpu limitations as well so an external belt mounted chip signifigantly reduces weight and allows for much higher wattage chips. apple vision pro has already set a precedent for belt mount (even if apple vision pro only mounted the battery).
The problem with Zuckerberg is his continuation from Facebook as a platform as an idea, expanding into the VR world. He surely doesn't mind VR games weights in as a huge part of VR usage, but in contrast with Facebook, what fits into any electronic device, the Quest's Superdragon CPUs in a locked system like Meta Store, it is kind of doomed. The positive side with Zuckerberg is the creation of Quest 3s, what is alot cheaper, what makes more people enter the world of VR, and possibly makes it more mainstream. And that's a really good thing for everyone.

Well for the gaming I do on my Quest 3, I definitely do not need any Eye Tracking. Hopefully one of the versions of Quest 4 does not include that feature. I want to see both near and far in my games and not have something filter out part of the view of games I view while playing them. Also what will the cost of a Quest 4 will be on release in 2026. Not enough known yet to think about an upgrade. We shall see.
I just bought a Quest 3 simply so I can play Microsoft Flight Simulator in VR. The Batman game came with the headset, but I'm not interested in anything but Flight Sim. It does support VR. Can't wait!
I get emails from video games plus out of Canada and they had PS5 versions of resident evil 2,3 remakes and 7 up for preorder. I clicked on the listing and it didn’t say anything about VR2 on it. But there is a PS5 version coming on disk. I wonder why do PS5 versions on disk if there already backwards compatible.
And VR1 is playable on PS5 with a special camera adapter to hook the PS4 camera up to the PS5. I hope all 3 of these games will get VR2 support. That makes them must purchases.
A Quest 4? Cool ;) I’m disappointed with the Quest 3S. I get that Meta wants to attract a more budget-audience, but going back to Fresnel lenses... really? Metas main problem is, that they have no appstore in place like apple or google do, so their options in the xr space are a bit limited. But it is interesting to see, what their next „real“ move will be (besides showing prototypes all the time).
Arkham Shadow has been amazing. Sure, its yet another retelling of the same ol stories but it's a lot of fun in VR. I just wish we could Quest Link to play it PCVR. Let me use my game rig for these graphics!!
Beat Saber is still my #1 VR experience/game, but I have been playing for less than a year. It's a good workout and fun to play and I haven't reached my skill cap yet. Asgard's Wrath 2 somehow just didn't capture my interest. Blizzard should make a Diablo game for VR, but I guess that's unlikely given their new owners etc.
I strongly disagree it being a hassle to set up vivecraft and its waaay more polished than its getting credit for here. It brutally outshines the bedrock implementation, ive had the two setup side by side and its vivecraft on top every time

@@Tropical- like as in "meta horizon"? I didn't even know there was a store. I am not defending or even endorsing it. but the Zuckerborg is for sure making moves and I think alot of people are sleeping on the potential of horizon due to its current playable state.

also you just see a swarm of low quality app lab games and homemade gorilla tag clones when you first jump in the store, not a great impression for new users looking for quality apps/games...I fully support people being creative but it needs its own section
Horizon worlds seemed busted when I gave it a crack a couple of days ago. Couldn't move. Don't think I could even open it before that though, didn't think it was available in Oz. I usually shop on the website rather than the headset or on a phone, so I hadn't noticed them pushing Horizon Worlds rubbish.

I definitely would've got a quest 3 for san andreas. Batman looks fun, but it's in no way a system seller unless you're a massive arkham fan. I hardly even see the game being mentioned in the arkham community and even when it is, 90% say they're not willing to invest in a quest 3. They're essentially targeting a niche within a niche. All creators are clearly biased and also receiving benefits. Gethip is the only trustworthy guy, even exposed how most creators are signing non disparagement agreements

If they add face and eye tracking don’t have your hopes up for more battery don’t even expect the same battery time
OLED screens alone cost more than $500. You rather pay $1000 with OLED, or$600 with current screen tech (same resolution). My preference is $600

eye tracking also consumes performance as well. maybe on q4 but I'm looking forward to the full wide eye screens.

It doesn’t matter if there’s a newer headset on the market, as long as your happy with your quest 3 when you get it it will be ok

@@GaryMcT Absolutely agree. If there's something that we already have way too much of in VR, it's horror games, zombie/wave/rail (any of those critera or a combination thereof) shooters and music rhythm games.

Well for the gaming I do on my Quest 3, I definitely do not need any Eye Tracking. Hopefully one of the versions of Quest 4 does not include that feature. I want to see both near and far in my games and not have something filter out part of the view of games I view while playing them. Also what will the cost of a Quest 4 will be on release in 2026. Not enough known yet to think about an upgrade. We shall see.
I just bought a Quest 3 simply so I can play Microsoft Flight Simulator in VR. The Batman game came with the headset, but I'm not interested in anything but Flight Sim. It does support VR. Can't wait!
I have a same mindset of using vr only for simulator until I try some goof game on a Quest 2 standalone

I get emails from video games plus out of Canada and they had PS5 versions of resident evil 2,3 remakes and 7 up for preorder. I clicked on the listing and it didn’t say anything about VR2 on it. But there is a PS5 version coming on disk. I wonder why do PS5 versions on disk if there already backwards compatible.
And VR1 is playable on PS5 with a special camera adapter to hook the PS4 camera up to the PS5. I hope all 3 of these games will get VR2 support. That makes them must purchases.
A Quest 4? Cool ;) I’m disappointed with the Quest 3S. I get that Meta wants to attract a more budget-audience, but going back to Fresnel lenses... really? I’m still waiting for the next Quest Pro 2 or the Quest 4. Meta should make two products, one dedicated to VR and the other to XR. Thanks for the news. Metas main problem is, that they have no appstore in place like apple or google do, so their options in the xr space are a bit limited. But it is interesting to see, what their next „real“ move will be (besides showing prototypes all the time).
So the Oculus store is not a store that sells apps, APK files? You do not know anything about the Quest is what you are saying....

Beat Saber is still my #1 VR experience/game, but I have been playing for less than a year. It's a good workout and fun to play and I haven't reached my skill cap yet. Asgard's Wrath 2 somehow just didn't capture my interest. Blizzard should make a Diablo game for VR, but I guess that's unlikely given their new owners etc.
Looking forward to Resident Evil/Biohazard 7 on the PSVR for 5th gen console.

I strongly disagree it being a hassle to set up vivecraft and its waaay more polished than its getting credit for here. It brutally outshines the bedrock implementation, ive had the two setup side by side and its vivecraft on top every time

@@Tropical- like as in "meta horizon"? I didn't even know there was a store. I am not defending or even endorsing it. but the Zuckerborg is for sure making moves and I think alot of people are sleeping on the potential of horizon due to its current playable state.

also you just see a swarm of low quality app lab games and homemade gorilla tag clones when you first jump in the store, not a great impression for new users looking for quality apps/games...I fully support people being creative but it needs its own section
Buying Hitman VR is just a bad idea unless it's made major improvements. The PC version was so jank. It was really disappointing.

Horizon worlds seemed busted when I gave it a crack a couple of days ago. Couldn't move. Don't think I could even open it before that though, didn't think it was available in Oz. I usually shop on the website rather than the headset or on a phone, so I hadn't noticed them pushing Horizon Worlds rubbish.

GTA San Andreas VR was supposed to be our savior that really would have sold headsets. that being said I cannot & will not ever watch another one of your videos. I definitely would've got a quest 3 for san andreas. Batman looks fun, but it's in no way a system seller unless you're a massive arkham fan. I hardly even see the game being mentioned in the arkham community and even when it is, 90% say they're not willing to invest in a quest 3. They're essentially targeting a niche within a niche. All creators are clearly biased and also receiving benefits. Gethip is the only trustworthy guy, even exposed how most creators are signing non disparagement agreements
