Automatically Popup on the FireTV is possible! Make a Alexa Routine with a trigger “Push Doorbell” trigger in smart home options. Next add Custom in Actions as Alexa,“Show Front Door Camera” and save the device to run it on at the bottom as your Fire TV… When someone pushes the doorbell it will fire the routine. Technically it will ask Alexa on the FireTV to Show the front door just as if you did and will pull up the camera.
Nice YT video showing more features of the Ring doorbell camera & showing display on a TV thru a FireStick! Looking forward to your next video showing how to get a echo show auto display the camera when motion is detected!
Has this changed at all in the last year? I was hoping to setup a doorbell (probably Wyze) and wanted the feed to automatically show on my Fire stick. It sounds like this way the Fire Stick, and echo devices, can TELL me someone is at the door, but then I'm telling Alexa to show me the camera manually. Is there any way to have a macro so that when someone presses the door, something could send Alexa the "Show Ring Doorbell on Fire TV" command instead of me having to say it?
Q: Is there a way to set it up so that if the TV is on a different HDMI connection, if you ask "Show the front door" the TV will automatically switch to the Fire Stick's HDMI connection and show the front door?
Thats a TV input senario that doesnt exist. It would be software built into the TV, not the individual dongle. Perhaps It would be possbile on a Smart TV with firestick built in and you are using your second device plugged into one of the HDMI ports.
Great video enabling me to connect my camera BUT do you know how to get the “MIC OFF” and other wording off the screen. I’ve noticed with this on, it slightly darkens my footage from the ring cameras? Also, I can’t press the talk button on my remote and say “Show me the garden” as it just puts the doorbell cam mic on. I have to press the back button then select the other camera. Thanks.
Is there anyway of the front door camera showing on the firestick TV when the button is pressed when someone is at the door. So if your watching a film waiting for a take away for example it'll show right on the screen instead of having to ask it to show you the door bell if this makes sense
Steve, Thank you for reminder about this feature. Do you know of any app that interfaces with any of the system so that I could see all of my cameras on one screen? Also my “show” and Alexa fire sticks frequently say “no response.” Any tips or tricks? Mine has never just shown on the show when doorbell rings. Looking forward to your next video. Thanks again!
I'm not aware of any interface that can show all your cameras on one screen through the Fire Stick. I love that idea though! As far as the issue you're having, it's saying "no response" when trying to load up a live view of your camera?
bought a eufy camera because was told you can view on smart tv..you cant, bought a chromecast with tv because I was told you can see doorbell camera thru that..you cant, so now if I buy one of these I can see doorbell camera on tv? have my doubts.
Great video steve. I could not get my Echo to display my Ring camera, all settings were as you showed. Well what a surprise when you said Echo show front door, my Echo responded and asked if i wanted to do this. I said yes and now i have the stream on my Fire tv. THANK YOU.
So what about other ring cameras?? Is it just for the doorbell? And why ? and we have to have Alexa? I don’t have Alexa. Does fire stick do arlo cameras as well? I would love this feature for the tv. Why haven’t these streaming devices been setup to show our camera system apps on our TVs? I heard google streaming device can show the nest cameras on the tv. Is that true?
Hi Joel, yes you can use the same steps to view any camera that's compatible with Alexa. It doesn't have to be a doorbell. As far as Google and Nest, yes, you can link the nest cameras to the Google Chromecast and view the live views on your TV. Here's a video i did were i connected the Nest Doorbell to the Google Nest Hub. ruclips.net/video/VWduuPoC7hA/видео.html
Thank you for sharing. My problem is when someone rings my Ring doorbell my Echo Show in the kitchen does not automatically connect to the camera and show me who is at the door. Alexa says, "Can not connect to front door camera." Do you have any idea why this happens?
Delete the doorbell in the Alexa app. Then click the plus sign in the top right corner to add a device. Click add device and then scroll all the way to the bottom of the list to "Other". At the bottom of that screen click Discover Devices and it should sync back up with your Ring doorbell. Hopefully that works. :)
@@SteveDOES Thank you very much. I will try this. Wanted it to be easy for the kids to see who is at the door without having to get a chair and look out the peephole. LOL
I don't have a smart doorbell, but can you have your Echo Show announce a custom command? You could ask a nearby Echo Dot to stream the doorbell camera to a television.
Hi! I already have my Ring connected but it still will not work with my echo. it keeps saying it does not work on this device (even tough I know it should because my son accidentally was able to get it to show on his Echo and we have the same Echo and firetv stick :). Please help!
This is not working every time I try to launch the app it freezes at the ring screen and it does not get to the point where I can actually see my camera I don't know what's going on but the app freezes when I launch it?
The MODERN Amazon FireSticks have a BLUE ...ALEXA .... VOICE COMMAND BUTTON SO,, presumably you don't need a DOT,, you just turn the TV on with the remote and the then PRESS the BLUE button and say " show the front door " ( it dose work, very slow, but dose work )
Actually, you can view any video doorbell on your fire tv: go to settings under Display and Sounds turn on HDMI-CEC. In the Amazon Alexa app, first add in your Fire TV as new device than create a new Routine. Under When This Happens select Smart Home than select the camera you want to display on the TV. Next, under Add Action select Custom than type in Turn On Fire TV and Show Me cameraX. Note: cameraX needs to be same camera name that you selected under Smart Home. Click Next. At bottom of screen select Choose Device than select the name of your Fire TV. Click Save. This Routine turns on your Fire TV so if on satellite or cable should auto-switch to your Fire TV than display your wifi camera. Pressing the back button on the Fire TV remote will exit the live video feed. You can setup a new Routine using Turn Off Fire TV to turn off video feed as well. Unfortunately, I haven't yet figured out how to switch back to satellite or cable without using the satellite or cable remote. Good luck!
Hey there! Great video! I can't help but to be stuck at the beginning where you say we can watch our ring video doorbell on our echo show 5...is there anyway you can tell me how to do that? As of right now I have it connected, but all it does is pop up a screen that says and reads "motion detected at the door." can I see the live screen view or the camera view when "motion is detected" on my show? I'm hoping you can help me with this...I'd much rather see it on the echo show if that's possible! If you have a moment to help me I'd really appreciate it! Thank you so very much!

Thank you! I wonder how to make the Live View to start on PiP instead of full-screen? Also, how can I make it stop automatically after 10...20 secs?
does it work actually?

Can you do a vid about routines. When someone ring the door bell your TV will automatically turn on. Thanks
Is there any way to leave the screen on live view? Like just showing the camera without it going back to the menu by itself ?
I only can get one camera of the two to display but i still feel ultra clever to network one camera, my brain isn't fried just yet!!!😂😂😂

You can with an Amazon TV
I have a few firesticks in the house, this works with my 4K ones but not with 2nd gen firesticks. But there’s nothing about it online.

i have the Firestick 4k with alexa, do i need to have a echo dot too in order for this to work?
Is this only for the doorbell or the stick-up cams, too? I have a Ring & Blink, and the Blink works. I figured because it's owned by Amazon...?
Hi I changed my phone and no longer get notifications on my new phone. Is there any way to add another device to an existing Ring doorbell?

Is there a way to show it as a pop up like home assistant would without taking up whole screen

Hello it’s works on the Vivint doorbell camera?
Does it work with the first fire-stick that came out back in 2016.
My alexa says: sorry camera dont work on this device
I’m in the same boat
Are ring indoor cameras and ring stick up cameras compatible with live view in the same way as a ring doorbell?
i'll try this soon as my Eufy 2k arrive..planning to link it on the show 10 but being able to spawn it on a my living room TV would be great too
Yea, it's a great feature. Enjoy that Eufycam. :)
What about an audio receiver? Will it work if I plug this into AV instead of directly into the tv?
Thanks for the tip... got it working.....
bought a eufy camera because was told you can view on smart tv..you cant, bought a chromecast with tv because I was told you can see doorbell camera thru that..you cant, so now if I buy one of these I can see doorbell camera on tv? have my doubts.
You missed showing the ability to auto display to the tv triggered by either motion or doorbell press.
That's in the next video. ;)
Is that possible?
great video, was able to set mine up within no time.

Thanks,worked like a charm!😎
this process does not allow to use a mic. it is disabled. will you please turn on mic so that through fite tv remote we can talk to the outsider?
I can't get this to work with my Eufy, it says the device can't display video when trying to view on my phone and fire tv
Which fire stick is it
TLDW: Press your fire stick mic button, say “Alexa show the front door”.
Of course, use whatever name you set the doorbell up as.
I have fire stck but can’t connect on my bedroom have a Primuom account help
How do you talk through it
I don't have a smart doorbell, but can you have your Echo Show announce a custom command? You could ask a nearby Echo Dot to stream the doorbell camera to a television.
Will this work on a PC monitor?
Yes, as long as it has an HDMI port for the Fire Stick to plug into .
Thanks a ton Steve. Never knew I could do that. Making the most of the cameras and my firetv stick now. Thanks once again z
My Ring does not show up in the Alexa app like 3:02..it is active and shows on my Echo 5
Awesome thank you so much.

Did you find how to do, I still have the same issue.
How do you set up a ring to a ps5

show another make of door bell
Aiwit?
Great video, but unfortunately this does not work with my Reolink 551w camera. Live view is not supported.
So you're only able to see a live view from your Phone or a computer?
@@SteveDOES I finally got it working after I rebooted the devices. That's always the go to solution it seems. ;) Thanks for the video.

@@jayparikh1664 correct. The TV doesn't have a mic built in. This method would be for viewing only.
Wtf are you talking about that simple? You have to link an echo to the fire tv etc. or something no detail here
don't think I can get there from here..
Useless feature. Cant even pip twitch whilst gaming
