to be honest I'm surprised Strider HASN'T won a Cy Young yet, granted he's only going into his 3rd full season, but I feel like everyone talks about how dominant and consistent he is every year. He's just a machine out there, reminds me of Glavine and Maddux in that way, obviously a different style of pitching than those guys but the consistency definitely reminds me of the 90s Braves rotation
Freddy P is so underrated!! He's an mvp on my fantasy team every year and you can always get him so late. Thank you Jolly for giving him the respect he deserves!
Glad you noted the second half improvement for Peralta. Based on interviews, one of his friends on another team alerted him he was tipping pitches and he was far better once that happened
Already emotionally prepared for when he dices up the Mets on opening day I see. It for real I couldn’t believe he didn’t get a cy vote last year I was locked in for all his starts when the cubs and brewers were still close down the stretch and he was nastyy
Peralta has been underrated for years behind Burnes and Woodruff. With the Brewers improved offense, there's a chance for him to pitch well with a lead.
11:05 Bryan Woo is a starter (but he only got 18 starts last year due to being a rookie) and his VAA is -3.8 at 95.1 MPH with 6.8 feet of extension. He seems like a good Dark Horse candidate in the future for the same reasons as Peralta
As a Brewers fan, great pick on Peralta and glad he's finally getting a little more recognition. However as someone born and raised in Braves country, Spencer Strider was looking good in pretty much every referenced metric. I think Peralta will be in the race, but I'm still more confident in Strider if I could only predict one for the cy young.
Last year Javier was good until June. I'm suspecting he was suffering from fatigue as 2023 was his first year to be a full time starter outside of 2020. Either way, he'll be a high-3's guy from here on out.
Haven’t watched the video but you’re right Jolly, Tylor Megill is gonna pretend it’s April the whole year and easily win the Cy Young, finally someone brave enough to say it
i love how Joe Ryan just keeps appearing on some of these leaderboards. Before his atrocious start against the Braves he was having a great year, and a few starts after the one against the braves he was sent to the IL. i think if he can stay healthy and continue to develop his sweeper and split he can be very very good.
My pick is not George Kirby, but his teammate Logan Gilbert. When he came up, he was hyped up for his fastball, but his offspeed stuff was underwhelming. Last year, he added the splitter and revamped his slider, but his fastball took a big step back. If he can get the fastball back, he's going to be a menace.
Heck, I would have settled for Dipoto getting anything good for them at the time. Those trades would've been Mariners losses if every player they sent flamed out, never mind two top-rotation guys being in them.
I feel like if George Kirby doesn’t win cy young in 2023, you’re gonna pick him 2024. George Kirby seems to scream everything you have ever said in these 4 videos. Or even Logan Gilbert too. Honestly all the mariners top 3 seems to be a lot of of what you preach about in these videos. Loved the video jolly if i was a person who bet on sports I’d definitely throw some money on peralta. (Edit in the list of starting pitchers with the VAA Bryan Woo was left off and he’s a starter. Maybe he didn’t qualify for Chamberlain’s stats)
I believe Freddy is one of the true gems of the MLB . He is going to beat most bats this season. Make no mistake you put Gasser and Misiorowski on this roster and Freddy even looks like a bigger ace. The guy is truly a gem who was properly developed. everyone who is crying for Misiorowski now to be called up already need only look at how they developed Freddy to know they are doing the right thing with the kid.
I recognize the importance of this series as an institution on your channel, not unlike the Foolish 50 over on Foolish Bailey, but when you’re showing all these charts with Spencer Strider laughably ahead of everybody else in the entire league, it might be time to drop the whole dark horse aspect and go with who’s going to win
I cant see a guy who is used to being a number 3 all of a sudden win the NL Cy Young... Plus I had him in fantasy the last 2 years and he was hurt in 22 and very up and down the first half of last season.. hard pass for me... I actually see regression... My AL pick is Luis Castillo My NL pick is Spencer Strider Both pitchers are K machines and Castillo has found a real home in a pitcher friendly Seattle and I think this is the year where Strider puts it all together and doesnt fall apart in September and finish the deal .. Honorable NL mentions 1. Justin Steele 2. Max Fried 3. Jesus Luzardo (I would say Yamamoto too but I just don't know enough about him... I also would love to say Logan Webb and I think for sure he is gonna be a top 5 pitcher in the NL next year.. i just dont think he will have Cy young stuff) AL honorable mentions 1. Framber Valdez 2. Garret Cole 3. Corbin Burnes Im really high on Jeffery Springs or Shane McClanahan for 2025 if they are fully healthy...
3:16 As someone who is around your age Jolly, knock it off. I love the content, but I don't appreciate that. I shouldn't have to feel old at 1:20 on a Saturday
Jolly I love your videos but I do want to point out one thing about this pick that might make you seem a little bit dumb I apologize in advance. Peralta will no longer be pitching behind Craig Counsell. I do believe that a ton of his and the Brewers pitching staff success came from the way counsell managed the staff, and I don’t think counsell gets nearly enough credit for the success those brewers teams had. He is going to take a major step back without counsell at the helm in Milwaukee. and He will get his overworked innings wise due to him being the new number one with corbin burnes gone.
His 5.2-H9 in 2021 still blows my mind
Fuzzy!!!!!
Father Fuzzy
Fuzzy!
Fuzzy the goat
Freddy Peralta mentioned RAHHHHH
I had to do a double take
Rahhhhh
Cardinals own bro
@@gus234 ok, division rivals can be tough, whatever
nah fuck milwaukee shitty ass city garbage franchise and they suck
Peralta is elite, his struggles come almost always from a big inning after a few walks. When he’s commanding the zone he’s unhittable
Sidenote: the number of these rankings that have the same dude on top just illustrate how insane Spencer Strider's fastball is
to be honest I'm surprised Strider HASN'T won a Cy Young yet, granted he's only going into his 3rd full season, but I feel like everyone talks about how dominant and consistent he is every year. He's just a machine out there, reminds me of Glavine and Maddux in that way, obviously a different style of pitching than those guys but the consistency definitely reminds me of the 90s Braves rotation
Mom get the camera Jolly's doing the Cy Young thing again!
Congrats on 100k, Jolly! Well deserved. Thanks for all the great content.
Freddy P is so underrated!! He's an mvp on my fantasy team every year and you can always get him so late. Thank you Jolly for giving him the respect he deserves!
Jolly a Cy Young leader for content creation.
Glad you noted the second half improvement for Peralta. Based on interviews, one of his friends on another team alerted him he was tipping pitches and he was far better once that happened
Using music from Sonic Adventure to celebrate 100K subs. That’s a power move. Congrats!
Ooh I like this pick Jolly, Freddy Peralta is super underrated man
Yes, my favorite video of the year!
11:04 BRYAN WOO SIGHTING RAHHHH
future AL cy young
I like that pick! Peralta has some good stuff and on a new (Brew)crew he might show what he can really do (which I bet is a lot!)
Already emotionally prepared for when he dices up the Mets on opening day I see.
It for real I couldn’t believe he didn’t get a cy vote last year I was locked in for all his starts when the cubs and brewers were still close down the stretch and he was nastyy
Congrats on 100k bro! Well deserved! 🎉 🎉🎉
i did not expect to hear jontron's voice in a 2024 video about baseball
Congrats on 100k Jolly!! Well deserved! 200k next
As a native Pennsylvanian, that analogy for Peraltas velocity is so insanely accurate
I believe Pitching Ninja calls his fastball an "Invisaball" because of all that you mentioned. Great dark horse pick.
Peralta has been underrated for years behind Burnes and Woodruff. With the Brewers improved offense, there's a chance for him to pitch well with a lead.
That cut to Waluigi pitching when talking about hulking giants gave me a good chuckle. Sneaky ace charecter
11:05 Bryan Woo is a starter (but he only got 18 starts last year due to being a rookie) and his VAA is -3.8 at 95.1 MPH with 6.8 feet of extension. He seems like a good Dark Horse candidate in the future for the same reasons as Peralta
Something beautifully therapeutic about ur voice man perfect for baseball vids👌🏻
Atta baby on 100K. Been loving your channel forever, Jack. You're the man!
Jolly needs 100M 🙏
You're gonna nail it JOLLY
Last year Javier was good until June. I'm suspecting he was suffering from fatigue as 2023 was his first year to be a full time starter outside of 2020. Either way, he'll be a high-3's guy from here on out.
He was very out of shape, but apparently he has lost 15 pounds this offseason so hoping a bounce back for him
@@cashprod.6849 Same thing with Pena. We'll see if the Astros juniors will come through
Haven’t watched the video but you’re right Jolly, Tylor Megill is gonna pretend it’s April the whole year and easily win the Cy Young, finally someone brave enough to say it

Mechanical Resonance in a Jolly Olive video?!?!?! I can die happy now.
congrats on 100k Jolly!
Congrats on 100K Jolly 🔥
Great video!
My pick is not George Kirby, but his teammate Logan Gilbert.

I love the Super Mario Odyssey background music. Starting at 9:43
Picking Peralta shows you really pay attention. He's nasty and virtually unheard of.
This might be the most Rockies content I’ve seen this offseason
Lou Triveno for Cy young tbh.. Grats on 100K man
insane to imagine what the mariners rotation would look like if they didn’t trade him and/or pablo lopez
Heck, I would have settled for Dipoto getting anything good for them at the time. Those trades would've been Mariners losses if every player they sent flamed out, never mind two top-rotation guys being in them.
This sadly didn’t age well 😭😭😭😭 bounce back freddy
Fucked up at da crib watching a freddy peralta video
Peralta has absolutely elite stuff
Fastball Freddy, yessir! Go Brew Crew
I do appreciate Jolly for going outside the box on this pick. Not playing it safe and he will look like a genius if he Peralta actually wins.
I feel like if George Kirby doesn’t win cy young in 2023, you’re gonna pick him 2024. George Kirby seems to scream everything you have ever said in these 4 videos. Or even Logan Gilbert too. goated video as always
George Kirby AL Cy Young I'm calling it right here
Lets go Freddy!!!
Idk how I missed this video somehow but an interesting pick to see nonetheless. I didn’t realize how nasty his 2021 was so the potential is there.
Shoutouts to Pennsylvania
2003 was over 20 years ago...
2003 WAS OVER 20 YEARS AGO
Boggles the mind. Im old af but still look like a 21 year old. 😊
i’ve had him on my fantasy team for 2 seasons now, great pick
The Sonic 06 music is crazy. good taste
3:17 as a Cubs fan, whenever I hear the year 2003 I get so much PTSD…
I believe Freddy is one of the true gems of the MLB . He is going to beat most bats this season. Make no mistake you put Gasser and Misiorowski on this roster and Freddy even looks like a bigger ace. Strider needs to learn how to not give up home runs first
To be fair to Jolly, my dark horse for NL Cy Young was Kodai Senga, and that pick *_immediately_* aged like milk 😂
I really wanted the Red Sox to trade for him this offseason. One of the most underrated guys in the league
W vid Jolly
The Jolly redemption arc begins.
Tired of hyping up a guy for years as a Cy contender only for Jolly Olive to pick said player
I don’t know…after watching those three Spring Training innings from Chris Sale….
Unreal video. Hope my fantasy league mates don’t see this
13:19 "tertiary" by jolliver olive
Great vid Jolly, but we need a public apology to Joez for saying he didn’t know pemdas when it was actually in fact all of you who didn’t
Jolly knows ball.
This here’s some good stuff
I’m taking Pablo Lopez and Yoshi for my cy young picks I wanted to go Kirby so badly tho for AL
Pablo Lopez and Joe Ryan were on a good chunk of those lists🎉🎉
Sandy’s name is pronounced Al Can Tara (as it’s spelt) not Al Cantra, I don’t know why commentators and journalists keeps repeating this error.
As a Brewers fan, I support this.
I like when you’re betting high on my Brewers, makes me feel a little less crazy sometimes! Go Freddy 👍
That's funny, I was gonna pick Freddy Peralta in the N.L. and Cornin Burnes in the A.L.
Love the MLB Power Pros music
“on a scale of alaska to arizona, he’s like uhhh pennsylvania” 😂😂
Luzardo was all over your charts here... and he was available this offseason. I can't believe no one got him. Damn you Preller, that was the move.
Isn’t it funny how, in almost all of the stats you showed, Spencer Strider is so much ahead of this guy.
2 things I learned from this video
1. 2003 was over 20 years ago
2. George Kirby is allergic to balls
Whoops, accidentally used an NL East team being beaten in a game highlight section!
Great video Jolly! Sorry that you’re wrong already, cause Logan Webb is winning this year
I’ve always liked Peralta because I throw 3/4 and I get shit for it, but I show people vids like this and they understand why in throw 3/4
Zac Gallen will be there if he can increase his K rate. He’s a pitcher, not a thrower. Love watching him pitch
Jolly Olive W
Love the analysis, but isn't VAA measured in degrees not inches?
Ranger Suarez 😎
my guy right here
sucks
You should make a video about the 1986 mets
I love Freddy. Let’s hope he stays healthy.
2003 is old enough to buy itself a beer
FREDDY PERALTA HYPE TRAIN LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I cant see a guy who is used to being a number 3 all of a sudden win the NL Cy Young... Plus I had him in fantasy the last 2 years and he was hurt in 22 and very up and down the first half of last season.. hard pass for me... I actually see regression...
My AL pick is Luis Castillo
My NL pick is Spencer Strider
Both pitchers are K machines and Castillo has found a real home in a pitcher friendly Seattle and I think this is the year where Strider puts it all together and doesnt fall apart in September and finish the deal ..
Honorable NL mentions
1. Justin Steele
2. Max Fried
3. Jesus Luzardo
(I would say Yamamoto too but I just don't know enough about him... I also would love to say Logan Webb and I think for sure he is gonna be a top 5 pitcher in the NL next year.. i just dont think he will have Cy young stuff)
AL honorable mentions
1. Framber Valdez
2. Garret Cole
3. Corbin Burnes
Im really high on Jeffery Springs or Shane McClanahan for 2025 if they are fully healthy...
Christain Javier lost a good bit of weight and is looking really good in ST
Freddy Peralta is cool and all, and I thought he was cool before the video too, but the biggest takeaway for me is that Gerrit Cole is pretty great.
The Giants might not do well as a whole but i think Logan Webb is gonna step it up big this year.
the CTE is hitting
Question for you, Jolly, and the peanut gallery (since I'm not as knowledgable about the fine points): Has MLB ever tried to limit extension?
Incoming 5 era
