The music video is simple and elegant, like they "vampires" have been awakened from a long sleep. But I really hope they release a full-length album with an epic majestic movie like music video. I hope it's not only for celebrating the band anniversary. It's great! But I hope they release more albums and songs as Versailles, as a band , even though they have their solo projects and careers but it would be nice to have our dear vampires with new songs for a tour. This was decent for me....and damn, Hizaki makes me feel like I wasted my time putting makeup on in the morning....worse than hide! 😸 Speaking of hide (because I always do), this song would make for an interesting mash-up with his song Pose.....the original version on the Psyence album, NOT the English language version with Zilch.....
Have you done Gackt - Lust for Blood or Hyde yet? Those are another couple of the Japanese vampire cabal. Hyde has a live of Midnight Celebration that's really full on. I'll edit in links. Part deuce! I love this band. Turned up in my recommendations in around 2015, with the song Masquerade. Absolutely blew me away. David Bowie Japanese version with a twin lead band of Yngvie Malmsteen and almost Dream Theater stuffs... And the outfits are French rococo. We're talking Anne Rice vampires, not Stoker. This was the band that got me hooked on Visual Kei and however many years later I'm still finding new incredible bands pushing the boundaries of creativity in all aspects. From the music to the image. It's a great scene, but very volatile. Very few bands last more than a year or two. Even less get major label signings. So Versailles are quite distinct in that aspect. Notables are Kizu キズ Arlequin アルルカン Deviloof Jiluka Dexcore And there's always new ones coming. Some don't last, like Ari 蟻 or Yumeleep, but still leave behind great music. DazzlingBad is another new one, very strange and unique band. Enough rambling! 🏃♂️
