*Firewatch Responsibilities* 📛 1. Firewatch is authorized and responsible to immediately stop hot work if hazardous conditions arise. 2. Monitor flammable materials, combustible objects, spark containment for any abnormal events. 3. Being familiar with the assembling area, manual call point, emergency alarm , potential hazards, and know how to obtain assistance in an emergency. 4. Stop the hot work if a fire or unsafe situation is observed, inform the operations supervisor, and initiate appropriate actions. 5. Monitor the hot work area for changing conditions and Watches for fires and extinguish them if possible. 6. Ensure that the area is covered with fire blankets that all nearby openings are sealed to control sparks and slag. 7. A Firewatch shall ensure proper housekeeping to keep the area safe. 8. Whenever Firewatch leave the activity area, the job shall be stopped or endorse to another qualified firewatch. 9. The Fire Watch shall stay at the hot work location, at least for 30 minutes after the completion of the hot work. ---
