Guys, let's talk eTorque. 1. Download an accelerometer app on your cell phone (e.g., Sensor Sense) 2. Find a smooth stretch of road. 3. Get two RAMs with identical power trains side-by-side, one with eTorque and one without, and drive them down that road while recording the acceleration on your phone. Make sure you place the phone at the same spot in each truck so it's an apples-to-apples comparison. 4. Objectively compare the accelerations from each gear shift between the eTorque and non-eTorque transmissions.
Me and the wife both looked at the Ram Rebel and the Gladiator. We both went for the Rebel. I mean comfort, the 12 inch screen, and off-road capabilities are good enough for the outdoor, camping, hiking light wheeling, stuff we do.
I just got back from a road trip from California to Telluride, Co. i sacrificed on road driveability for off road capability by taking the Wrangler JKUR over my Rebel. Taking the Wrangler actually worked out really well and now might consider selling both for a Gladiator.
"You're carrying a dog..." Haha, awesome video guys, truely awesome... Edit: just finished the whole thing and what came to my mind... I've been watching your guys' videos since the reveal of the Gladiator two years ago and ever since then I've been eagerly awaited the release of the vehicle in Germany. It's awesome though to be able to watch your videos on a daily basis and the fact that Tommy has gone the whole nine yards on his way to adulthood in the meantime just made the ridiculously long waiting time apparent to me. Keep up the great work, guys!
Tough call on picking one of those two. The Ram has so much more room and towing capability but the Jeep is so much better offroad. Ok neither. Keep building my 1973 Chevy K20. Lol
Haha good on Tommy for calling the the Etorque , as being nothing but a start stop system. That I'll ad is going to he insanely expensive to fix. Better hope that belt never Flys off too.
Great comparison you guys"!!and they have decent news I found another Chevrolet Astro van all-wheel drive then I am going to convert and turn back into my beast mobile, I'm going to switch everything over from my older van if I can get to it before it gets towed so pray for us on keeping up with the wofford's on Facebook
And ... Don’t forget... You get to get out of Jeep every couple miles to clean the windshield when it snows... Thanks to its terrible defrost system...😳😳😳... Thanks to Tommy and his Pop for pointing that out...👍... I’m with Andre...You seem to get a whole lot more with the Rebel ...🤙🤙🤙
I think that the Rebel offers a lot more for the money, and is the more complete, utilitarian package. When it comes down to everyday comfort & drivability, payload & towing capacity, and power, unless you're planning on spending most of your time trying to crawl up to the top of El Capitan, I can't see purchasing a Gladiator, especially if it was going to be your sole mode of transportation.
I’m seriously skeptical about the etorque system. Is it reliable? I hate the idea of the 48v system combined with the 12v battery. It just seems so unnecessary. Just another system to go wrong and expensive to replace down the road. Sucks all 2021 AT JL’s have it with the 3.6.
15,000 miles on the clock of my 2019 ram 1500 Limited. I got it as fully loaded as I could possibly find for the time $72000 MSRP. I can Unequivocally say.... the Etorque system does not benefit the truck in any conceivable way. It doesn't get better gas mileage I average 15 mpg, ( I did replace the stock tires www.customwheeloffset.com/wheel-offset-gallery/911106/2019-ram-1500-xd-badlands-stock ) It isn't any faster. Do not buy etorque, if you're going to get a ram 1500 hemi.
I had the same problem with my 2020 Ram Rebel couldn't do better that 15mpg highway! ...traded it for a Trail Boss LT and its awesome, also 23.4 mpg best with it.
@@rossgreenzweig 👌 nice, I find the Ram to be a more complete package for what I do. I like the look of the trail boss, but My truck has to be a little more on the professional side for realestate. I do however have plans on getting a 2021 escalate which will free the truck up for more fun stuff.

Rebel, hands down. More capable, more practical, more power and more efficient. The Ram I rented this summer averaged over 22 mpg over 3500 miles. Granted, it was a Big Horn and not a Rebel, but that 5.7 Hemi a beast.
