In this Medieval Engineers Gameplay Let's Play video, I am staking my claim in the lands of Valanor! I'm playing Medieval Engineers on a Survival Multiplayer Server with a number of other people. The game allows for area control, factions, gathering, building, crafting and more! My goal is to build a shelter and experiment with farming, as well as explore other aspects of the game I have yet to experience!

What is Medieval Engineers?
Play in a volumetric open world environment and explore a whole planet. Medieval Engineers is so big that without mountains getting in the way it would take over two hours to walk the whole way around. Find valuable defensible areas or go to battle alongside your allies to take enemy lands and secure resources. Use the primitive roads to transport wagons and siege equipment to better vanquish your foes.
In Medieval Engineers, the planet is full of life including: trees, plants, animals, and savage barbarian warriors. Explore, build or fight and if you tire of the default planet you can download modded worlds from the Steam Workshop or create your own.

I would really like to see you do more than 2-3 videos my friend, to show the potential of this game to us viewers. I do like your style, and your take on these types of games, so keep up the great work. :-)

compound building mode - press Z. Allows you to place pieces compounded together for corners etc

Oh! Finally get to see the game in action. I assumed it went into a hiatus so I haven't bothered checking it out after a long time. It's not bad, and glad you're checking this out that I'd love to see the next few episodes (however many) just to gain a basic idea on this.
When I am offered a choice, I prefer stone over wood everytime. I liked this video and am looking forward to more. Especially liked the location! That view was great!
I've been waiting for this game for so long!
There is 2 more little spots of iron right next to the one you dug. On the edge between the forest and the hill, a bit behind you on the right when you face your mining start. It's not much and will take time but you'll need a lot of iron only if you do tons of lighting items.

Thanks for your channel. I am just getting started in Medieval Engineers and it is difficult to find in depth tutorials with the most recent version. Since the devs make many changes the older tutorials dont often help. So thanks for as many details as possible.

Yeah, Id like to see more for sure. Have to say aswell, that many tuber should look your vids, and take it as an example of good editing. I am an person who gets bored easily and, there wasnt an single point where i felt that i wish this would move faster pace. Well done.

Hey Mike, please do agriculture and machines, you know those rope winch things. I don't know how to do these at all.
Other than that I'd love some medieval RP, politics, wars, sieges, alliances, trade. To see if the game even allows stuff like that now.

I would love this game if the developers of the game implement like some sort of big army element in the game. I mean we have total war, men of war and stuff but it would be cool I guess!

This game looks so cool. I wish I discovered it earlier. How is the multiplayer in general? Is it possible to fight against other players castles and stuff?

Yea, you can fight against each other ;) It's really fun to play with others and build, etc - that is my jam. I have not done much of the "let's attack each other" thing, but it can indeed be done.
Suggestion: Instead of 60fps, use 50fps, to reduce the chance of lagging on the viewers' end by 60 to 90 percents...

this is the only game were you whack a few sticks in formation and then all of a sudden rocks magically appear
Put your clame block under the house :) makes a staircase to the basement / cave :) put more videos up
putting the claim block under the home would have been neat, yeah.
if you press "Z" you can place floor even if you don't have walls :) check the controls in game options or press f1

I want a computer so I can play this and I'll join a server and make a merchant guild so I'm virtually untouchable by large kingdoms
i've never played this game but do you have to pay resources to keep your land 'yours'? In a sense thats pretty cool, it's like property tax. Then again it would be annoying, again like property tax.
Yes, you do have to pay to maintain the land as YOUR land, but it is very cheap to do so (you can throw in anything and, like a garbage disposal, it will eat it up and give you time for it - and it's not hard to maintain it). Of course, you can just build anywhere and never claim the land - but if you are on a multiplayer server this is not recommended as people can claim the land you are on, etc.
Hi. Can you tell me what exactly happens when you claim land? I understand it's yours etc, but what does that do? Can other people not build/destroy it?
ItzEvolv at first, simply bragging rights. As the game progresses, these could be like a contest of controlling territory, or perhaps an opposing team cannot gather resources in an enemy owned territory. It's a feature yet to be fully realized.

Wilk this game run on low end laptop? I have 1.8hz processor. And intel integrated graphics. I saw the minimum requirements already (Im fairly close) just wondering if its possible with settings turned down.
I'm not sure, never tested it.
it works for me and i keep getting a warning that my system requirements are not meet but i play it anyway with every thing set to the fastest graphics settings but I do not have any issues with using a crappy out dated laptop.

Well, LiF is prefab buildings... you can build anything here... and there is structural integrity. Those make the two games vastly different. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but for me, these are two very very different games (and I love LiF).
Yeah it has the rust style builder. I love LiF but i want that mmo already lol. The yo version is old to me now.

That server is still running I believe, yes (though I am no longer playing there... not that you were trying to play the game with me of course) ;)
hahaha no actually I just found your channel because of this video. I was looking for a medieval building game for me and my buddies and just stumbled here. It seems that that this server is heavily influenced by roleplay so I really wanna check it out. Thanks a lot for the quick reply :)

I can't seen to put a floor down even when I have a wall up. Any idea?
Try holding... SHIFT, or ALT and also try rotating a bit - sometimes it will be offset until you rotate it just right, then it snaps over etc.
I liked the part when you said: "The railings are pretty high". It's actually tall not high.
But pretty good episode!
Any taller and I could walk under it though, haha. The railing is almost at eye level - I'm not sure what railing heights you have had experience with, but for me they are anywhere from waist to middle chest in height and you can, you know, see over the top of them ;) Thanks for watching!
I have this game on steam but it says that my graphics card is too good for the game apparently.. And I followed the instructions to fix it and still nothing works. It actually makes me really sad..

Not sure what you mean, I was playing the game and those are simply the trees, grass and terrain that are part of the base game, so... I don't have anything to upload ;)

I can't! It used to run fine for me and I even did a series on it long long ago. I have a good system, but ever since the planet update, I have been unable to run the game :(

Im still re learning the game (played a good ammount when it first came out) but it would be pretty neat to play with ya.

Does this run better than Space engineers?
Space Engineers used to run for me - pretty well in fact. That is no longer the case (despite having a much better system now) - so in that sense (for me anyway), ME runs much better than SE.

I don't really see the point of this game. I own Space Engineers and it is the same.
They need a point.
Enemies, animals, NPC's something to make survival ... Survival. Scenarios. Something.
I think your videos are great Weem but I just don't see the point of an extended series on this one.
You are certainly not alone, I have some friends who mention the same thing. That said, there are still things I have not tried in the game so this is really about me checking them out to get a feel for where things are currently with the game ;)
I will watch and enjoy everything you do.

I don't want to prove you wrong is the thing, I'm not trying to prove anything, hehe - there are just things I have yet to do. Once I check them out, this game (like most others for me) will get set aside while I let it get some updates for a while. Then, down the road, I will check it out again to see what's new. Styxx Rivers maybe if they added npcs that build villages like tribes maybe, and they roam around collecting stuff to progress and attack you

I know, it's no Peanut Butter and Jelly, but the two do work really well together, you would be surprised. I know it can be a lot to take in if you have never seen the two come together in this way before but with an open mind and a few well placed hammer swings, this combination can work wonders.
