Shocking to see how well he made it in the end. I noticed that the claustrophobia was seemingly completely gone by a certain point and I have always wondered if that was something that got easier in a long run (but I'm too rubbish to know for sure lol). Always nice to watch a Zomboid in Celsius so I'm not having to subtract roughly 32 from the temperature all of the time!
Yeah the character slowly gets “desensitized” as the game goes on, eventually it gets to the point that claustrophobia only triggers in really small rooms
Panic is something that is super punishing at first, but it gets much less intense over time! It's not like it permanently goes away, but it does get better. It's something that I really enjoy about PZ- you really get to watch your characters grow as they survive, instead of putting all of the effort in via roleplay. There are some things that actually get reflected in game mechanics, and that's super cool.
To add some specifics to what the others said, your character's panic bar is constantly draining. This drain increases the longer you survive, so a character 100 days in gets over panic faster than a fresh character. Claustrophobia constantly fills your panic at a constant rate based on the size of the room. At a certain point, the panic drain overcomes the claustrophobia fill and it and it's no longer an issue.
Something that really lets me know how tough this challenge is, is you getting caught by hordes. I've been playing zomboid for years and have never been surrounded and devoured except when I try to do like the cd da challenge. It's rough!
Tip for carrying furniture, u can equip it in your left and right hand like the water dispenser and it massively reduces the weight it has though this depends on the item
With the siren turning off, if you go too far away from the siren then the chunk freezes and resets to the default mode of the car/truck (aka doing nothing). It helps the game save up on resources since it is a pretty large game with all the zombies and such.
I think the concept of negative traits in Project Zomboid is very interesting On one hand, very evident handicap, on the other hand, the fact you can effectively overcome some of them is kinda fun
No respawn is turned off for this. If you want to see the full setup/rules of the challenge there's a video linked in the description of me setting things up.
@@cromulentarcher Yeah, @futuredragon suggestion is great. Maybe you could try with one of the older ones that might not get so many views anymore and see how they perform, before committing to anything. I’d be up for watching them :) This was a great video
It’s not something you notice until you live a long time but over a few in game months your character becomes desensitized and panic build up is much slower. So after a while the rate that claustrophobic causes panic to rise is offset by the desensitized and it doesn’t really cause problems anymore.
that song you keep using during the burns in the first 30 minutes sounds so familiar. i know the name of the song, but i cant quite remember what game used it
Idea: survive 1 year as a true pacifist (no killing zombies, no hunting, no fishing, etc) anything that’s has to do with violence you cannot do Hard but possible (I think) Of course you have to have the pacifist perk but all other perks of your choice (cannot take burglar because that could entail hurting people and nothing to do with direct weapon knowledge) Make modifications that you see fit (within reason of course)
I can understand that perspective. When dealing with “insane” level of zombies I find it to be necessary sometimes but I totally see where you’re coming from on it.
I love how you get completely new problems by playing the game differently, like weight loss
Wish I had that problem fr 😅
Oh boi this challenge is going to be more painful with muscle strain in build 42
already trying it, aslong as you know what youre doing you can make it a few good weeks, but now i gotta multiply that by... alot
Thanks for putting this together! Great vid!

This is going to entertain me for days to come
From surviving to thriving. This was a joy to watch!!!
I’m now subscribed

SUPERCUT LET'S GO!!!!!
Great video bro! Def enjoying your awesomeness

i really enjoyed this playthrough it was very entertaining
There was something very soothing and enjoyable about this whole video haha. I hope you do more, my gf and I loved it!
You forgot to make all the zombies sprinters
Great video bro, loving the conten
“You are the worlds. Worst. Everything!!”
kinda late but quick tip, if you speed up time to the point your panic reduces to the first stage, meaning you can sleep even with claustrophobic
I thought his name was 'keester' you know, like 'stop sitting on your keester'. It's 'coaster'? lol, I feel bad now...
This video tells me i suck at this game
3:40
"Someone cooked here"
i have another challenge for you. do One painfull year on insane population and all negative traits with the more traits mod
Perfect find right before i go to sleep lol
"I'm Organized" he says, after complaining about being disorganized for hours.
that was the joke
In pz I always take the water coolers so u don't have to worry bout water
I remember back in the day they actually didn't weigh very much so some people would carry them around in their bag with them
is this with respawning Zombies?
No respawn is turned off for this. If you want to see the full setup/rules of the challenge there's a video linked in the description of me setting things up.
So what happens if the helicopter finds you because some people are out when it passes
Helicopter will hang around longer if it sees you outside. So it’s better if you can stay inside during it
I miss max already, god speed buddy.
I'm really enjoying this run but I keep falling asleep to it...
What mods are you using for this?
There’s a set up video linked in the description if you want to see the whole list, but it’s mostly low impact stuff like AuthenticZ.
Great style of video! Would you consider doing a few of the old series like this?
I did look into it but most of the other old series are too long to be shoved into a single video
@@cromulentarcher maybe do the full series in 2-3 parts?
@@cromulentarcher Yeah, @futuredragon suggestion is great. Maybe you could try with one of the older ones that might not get so many views anymore and see how they perform, before committing to anything. I’d be up for watching them :) This was a great video
Your the first person I’ve ever seen use claustrophobia 😂
How are you able to sleep in the apartments with the claustrophobic trait?
It’s not something you notice until you live a long time but over a few in game months your character becomes desensitized and panic build up is much slower. So after a while the rate that claustrophobic causes panic to rise is offset by the desensitized and it doesn’t really cause problems anymore.
Hell yeah!
that song you keep using during the burns in the first 30 minutes sounds so familiar. i know the name of the song, but i cant quite remember what game used it
Hi
That sounds like the main theme from one of the "Taxi" movies. At least I ricognized it this way
What is the mode pack you were using this video
Day 345: That ain't Riverside, that's Rosewood
Errrrrmm actually☝️🤓
1:25:01 what song is this?
It's just something I found in the RUclips music library
❤👍👍👍Tell me, at least you have the dynamic traits mod.
Nope, nothing but negatives for the whole run.
@@cromulentarcher Yep!. I saw. Great video man! ❤
Zero to hero is the best!
Woohoo!
Positive comment.

My man *saw* things in a radio
🕶️🐹🔪. .
Forge Labs if he played project zomboid

That just Sounds like foraging on the outskirts for a few hundert reallife hours
@ now that I think about it
Yeah probably 😅😅
NGL, burns are cringe, turns a desperate situation into a walking simulator
I can understand that perspective. When dealing with “insane” level of zombies I find it to be necessary sometimes but I totally see where you’re coming from on it.
walking sims can be fun too.
