Promise (reprise) from the video game Silent Hill 2 and the movie Silent Hill 2006. Composed by Akira Yamaka.
The SH2 videogame is one my favorite video games when I was a child and I loved every second of it. I can remember the soundtrack was having a big influence as well. There were so many great cues during the videogame. Actually I didn't realized it that much at that time. Later on when I obtained the soundtrack I felt in love with it. Akira Yamaoka did such a marvelous job with the soundtrack of Silent Hill 2. I was happy that they used the cues for the 2006 movie like this piece of silent hill 2 promise reprise! Also I have read some rumors that there might be a Silent Hill 2 remake. I would love to see that one.

This theme is also used for the uncanny phase 83 as people commented in the videos below. It's the exact theme from Silent Hill Reprise composed by Akira Yamaoka .

Silent hill 2 in my opinion is one of thee greatest and most important survival horror games ever made.

This is very unusual for a pianist,but very interesting. I never saw playing the melody with both hands in the same octave, while being simultaneously the Bassnotes and the high notes
It’s probably because Akira Yamaoka at first wasn’t a composer. He went from making sound effects to being forced to make music for the first Silent Hill game. It explains why the first Silent Hill game’s music is very. . . brutal and more to instill foreboding or pure terror 90% of it. Then with SH2 he became more musically inclined, but as you can see in his own way.
@@densandwitch1251this isn't Akira's arrangement, this is the youtuber's arrangement for piano.
This was one of the first songs I learned on piano. On Akira's version, you really need 3 hands to play all three parts simultaneously to the song but this guy somehow combined 2 parts into one hand. My brain was trying to comprehend this for a while. I'm so impressed with this version! It's now my favorite! Inspired to learn it now but my brain will have to unlearn the original way I know 😩

Man I really enjoyed the movies but never got around to playing the games. Really need to do that because I hear they are pretty good
I only played SH2 but it seemed to be one of the best. I was lucky enough to play that one. Actually I bought SH3 during that time the seller in the store told me that it was even better than SH2 and even more scarier. That last remark made me not to play the game. As you know I love the Resident Evil series but this game is scarier for me. I really recommend it!
The Silent Hill movies are one of the best video game adaptions out there, however they still can’t capture that feeling of actually playing the game. Your comment is 7 months old and I really hope you’ve tried them in that time. The character attached to this song is one of my favourites
They’re coming out with a new one for the ps5 but I’m scared they might butcher it .. I’ve heard tales of this game and seen gameplay ; it’s one of my childhood games
You can buy HD versions of SH2 and 3 on xbox one not sure about PS4 though

And then I accidentally played a piece of this music (g, a, a#, c, d, c, a#, a, g I think) and the memories of this video game flooded me. One of my fave movies growing up. Oh 2005 how I miss you. Silent Hill the movie was filmed in the downtown area and surrounding countryside of my home town!

I must say i am proud to own Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 soundtrack on cd. Silent hill 2 is maybe my favorite of all series but Akira Yamaoka did great job on all soundtracks.
And movie from 2006 was best video game adaptation ever. Its like you are in a game. Atmosphere , music , story , scenography brilliant.

I live about 30 minutes away from Centralia PA (the ghost town silent hill is based on) and im trying to learn this so i can take my piano down on a foggy morning and play this where the town once stood or maybe even the old highway if i can find a spot that hasn't been covered up.

Im a beginner and was looking for a good arrangement of this, and most ones have the base line of the beginning part throughout the song, which isnt how the song goes, this one is very close to the original, having the high notes played all the way! I looked at the sheet version of this and was very confused as to how its played, thankfully your video was linked.
