This is like all my build. Last project was slippers. Tapet some cheap fabric to my feets: Then cut it off and made my patter from that. Had to redu them ones, but now I have a pair that is perfect for my feets. :-)

Volunteer some time at your community theater to help build stuff. You'll quickly see that you can make things and be amazed of how jankie everything is. But hey, it works and looks good twenty feet away!

No. It was supposed to be practical. No idea how exact it was to start with, let alone after some time has passed, but it's still close enough for use apparently... My dad certainly agreed with Adam about mechanic's wire (baling wire). He carried a 200 ft. spool in every car he owned. I still remember spending a couple of hours in the middle of nowhere while we wired a completely failed exhaust system back together enough to finish the trip.

I wanted to thank Adam for his words on "The kind of build this is" because I tend to get a lot of flack from people for the shoddy nature of my own builds when I'm making them for myself and after a while it tends to wear you down and make you feel like you need to put in way more effort than is necessary so others will think your work is "good enough". Knowing that someone as talented as Adam cuts corners because it's personal and easier makes me think my work isn't as bad as maybe others have suggested. So thank you. :)

It allowed me to think critically and truly affirmed the phrase "there's more than one way to skin a cat".

Very cool. I learned that the key for diffuse lights behind glas is that there cannot be any shadows. So any cables need to be strapped down with tape. Otherwise their shadows show on the glas.

Lots of people repair guitars using "the Super Glue trick", and add baking soda, and you can repair white parts, like the nut at the headstock. It never occurred to me to use it to finish an entire piece.

At first I was thinking the same thing, but then I realized that I think he means rigid. It’s not crazy rigid at that thickness, but over time it should not move like solid wood, and that means it is stable.
It crumbles at the edges and it will sag with humidity/etc. It's a powder and glue cake. Lacks the inherent structure of wood. It is more stable in terms of dimensional rigidity in a dry environment, but is overall definitely weaker than wood.
I love these "Theather builds" a lot. I do shit like that all the time with just foamcore board (same type FliteTest uses for building their planes) and hot glue. I made cellphone stands, battery trays with a sepperator to sepperate the charged from the empty batteries, an angled camera stand, etc etc.

to be fair, pinky is the worst finger to hit. ive done that to probably all of my fingers and toes over the years and in both instances, the pinky/little toe were so much more painful than any other appendage... so u have the worst behind u ;)

to be fair I have had my pointer finger slammed in the hinge of a door frame by what I could only assume was the largest wood door in a school I lost the nail but only after repeated Fractures and other accidents involving my fingers. I have had both pointer fingers injured my thumb slammed between the exposed metal on a car door and finally a Glass exploding in my hand from my job which managed to cut my ring finger and my pinky and my palm so as far as hand related injuries I think I take the cake I have yet to lose a finger but time will tell if I will. Im still working at the job in which the glass exploded in my hand.

I love these "Theather builds" a lot. I do shit like that all the time with just foamcore board (same type FliteTest uses for building their planes) and hot glue. I made cellphone stands, battery trays with a sepperator to sepperate the charged from the empty batteries, an angled camera stand, etc etc.
14:20 how loud did you yell when you did that to your middle finger. did the same to my pinkie and let me tell you... i was yelling so loud it hurt MY ears... and then 2 days later i smashed the same finger, again. so yea that nail is gonna fall off.
to be fair, pinky is the worst finger to hit. ive done that to probably all of my fingers and toes over the years and in both instances, the pinky/little toe were so much more painful than any other appendage... so u have the worst behind u ;)
What I hate is that pain time delay after you hit it. I think it's there to make sure you get the most contrast between not painful and painful.

to be fair I have had my pointer finger slammed in the hinge of a door frame by what I could only assume was the largest wood door in a school I lost the nail but only after repeated Fractures and other accidents involving my fingers. I have had both pointer fingers injured my thumb slammed between the exposed metal on a car door and finally a Glass exploding in my hand from my job which managed to cut my ring finger and my pinky and my palm so as far as hand related injuries I think I take the cake I have yet to lose a finger but time will tell if I will. Im still working at the job in which the glass exploded in my hand.
