Another musical friendship has been made!
Meet Doug Stewart, talented flutist and teacher. He and I have collaborated across the stage in local liturgical cantatas for several years. This past Easter, when the church decided to pre-record a chamber-orchestra-only offering, I was warming up on Concerto in B-flat by Handel - and he had the cheek to start playing the flute part alongside me! (AND he did it perfectly, no sheet music!). I burst out laughing!
I instantly knew that I had to explore the concept of harp & flute further, and in a whirlwind of communication, we arranged a first meet-n-play at my home studio!
We spent over three hours recording and discussing the philosophy & ethos of music, performance, formative experiences - everything under the sun! As you can see, it was an instant friendship, both musically and professionally.
We managed to get 12 songs churned out - often on the first take. Holy smokes! I'll be releasing them over the next few days!
