Hey, I'm also a massive fan of Mike Oldfield, his music has raised me from the depths of hell and carried me to Heaven. My son has a habit of sneaking onto my computer while I've momentarily popped out, and writing random comments. I can only apologise for his stupid comment. My favourite Mike Oldfield LP has to be the wonderous Tubular Bells, a classic album.
Thanks for posting this. Any info on Mike Oldfield is brilliant. Just read his autobiography and he seems to be a classic case of good coming out of a hard early life.
I don't buy that. He was so busy trying to convince Virgin, BBC, and himself that Incantations needed to be a double-LP that the whole 70's punk thing just passed him by...while the man in the satin bow tie stared down his nose at him, while topping off his scotch glass...
I am the interviewers cousin ( Alice Beer), she told me Mike Oldfield has a secret torture chamber in his basement where he tortures animals. While she was there, he was torturing rabbits with knitting needles. This was not broadcast at the time, they felt it would damage his image as a Rock legend.
He is so similar to Kate bush in the way he talks and articulates himself..so intelligent and yet modest ..great guy
Well observed! Mike and Kate are two of my favorites!
He is a decent humble genius who had a very unusual childhood. Very sensitive man.🌹❤

Wow, he spells Bach very good! 👍
Viva Mike the greatest. Thanks for giving us Art
One week , which changed the lives of both Mike Oldfield and Richard Branson

He's perfectly sane and in control...and f***ing around with the interviewer's empty head! :-D
Tres Lunas was for me a very special era
The best music to hide from reality!
I didn't notice that the main tune of Tubular Bells came from Bach's famous tune.
Bless you
Ein Genie !!
Nice shot of the PRS headstock there. They haven't changed a bit in thirty years.
Paul Reed Smith - shit then and shit now!
En más 20 años que soy seguidor de Oldfield es la primera vez que veo su vídeo de niño del minuto 1:02
Oh boy, Alice Beer. This is becoming rather a familiar tale.
how do all those record companies feel after rejecting such a winner that they let slip through their hands?
No 1.
thanks
@bonnie43uk
Not only that but he made the poor rabbits to listen 70's punk rock. That's just too cruel.
I thought the interviewer was Princess Diana.
Alice Beer. Did you wait 7 years to hear this reply?
@bonnie43uk The European music press interested in preserving the good name of a prog-rocker? WOOOOWWW...
Do we have an airing date for this tv program?
Alice says "... almost 30 years since the release of Tubular Bells ..." so would be early 2000's?
My sincere apologies
@bonnie43uk are you sure? Why would a camera crew and with a perfect stranger be shown this chamber lol, he'd be arrested- C'mon....
they had a certain spooky movie as opening date chatter. she could of got all possessed on him. he woulda misunderstood it as her being a big 'B'!

funny just thot of it linda blair was fond of rock guys...rick springfield comes to mind. mike shoulda gave her a go, when she was old enuff...ahem.
what Bach music was that at the beginning?
Toccata and Fugue in D minor
in which Tubular Bells was inspired
1000% CORRECT LIGHTNIK 625
I do not relate Tubular bells to the film. The film is so awful while the album is so contemplative. Brilliant!
I’ve never seen the film but man, have I listened to Tubular Bells.......
perhaps they listened to 3rd tier prog bands...they will remain nameless to protect their anonymity. punk and prog are weird musical cousins.
@LIGHTNICK625 1000%CORRECT MY FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!
this talking wifey is so dreadfully gullible!!
