    Great rendition, priceless.
Classical singing is alive and doing great in Trinidad today thanks to the great program of Baal Vikas in the Maha Sabha Schools. Thanks to all the teachers and principals for the success of this program .

Denase gosein Good to know that, no better way to honour our for parents , gurus and pundits who wrote these great lyrics. They were very knowledgeable in Hindi or Sanskrit or the Bhojpuri dialect, in most cases all of the above. Keep the indigenous tradition going.

Yes, as was common in Trinidad in those years, many patterned themselves after the great, Ramcharitar or Aranjuez, Trinidad. Among them, the late Isaac Yankaran. What is truly astounding is the tonal quality of the dholak. Nicks was one of the best and he and I had some great times although he was much elder than I. Tarzan was also a member of the great Naya Zamana orchestra of which I was a member.

You are the listening to the voice of my food friend, Tarzan Shah Mohammed, a former member of the famed Naya Zamana Orchestra of which I was a member. The dholak is being played by a man famous for it's tonal quality, Nicks Nanan of Longdenville. Incidentally, while this bhajan is sang in a Trinidad thumrie style as is commonly done there, it is not a Thumri at all. Dennis Mahabir
