A little SHARKY | Spearfishing SEA-DOO FISHPRO style in the Florida Keys

- Frenzied bull sharks, clear waters, solid fish, and Florida sea life made this trip one for the books! The FISHPRO made it fun to get out on the water and with pop up storms all around it was easy to get in safely (and fast). This was the first time I used the tow rope which allowed me to find new spots and I also hit my top speed!

I don't know a lot about sharks, but I live in Alaska, and I'm more experienced with bears. That circling behavior is a lot like a black bear. When they start circling they look fairly relaxed and docile, but they are getting up the courage to attack. Sometimes they will even walk up to someone ever so timidly and then clamp on. The human lets it happen because the normalicy bias kicks in and the lack of energy in the bear makes them feel safe. I think sharks are a lot like that.

Brie you need to invest in couple power heads keep them on your side and put them on your tip if this ever happens again and pop one normally they'll back off but pop at least one to show you mean business and make your way back more than 3 bulls is not good if one attacks the others will follow believe me ! Great video

Concerning the sharks you both did the right thing on calmly leaving the water. In my spearfishing I have driven away solo sharks with a good poke from the tip of my spear, but 7 bulls... yeah... swim away, swim slowly away 😂

Great Video... Brings back memories of Spear fishing HOG fish down in Key West and having a big bull shark swim in very curious...nerve racking. Nice work keeping the grouper above water...not an easy task when there are predators lurking below... stay safe out there.

Many years ago a guy took us spear fishing off of Miami/Bimini on a small cruise. Once he speared one, he made a bee line for the surface to get the bleeding fish onto the boat. The following year, he wouldn't even do it. He said a close encounter with a shark had scared him from doing it with guests.

Very cool, just got back to south Florida and I am thinking about buying a SDFP, only thing I am worried about is having nowhere to hide from the sun. Have you found any solutions to this - any accessories to provide a bit of shade?

It happened to me two weeks ago 10 miles off of Sanibel in 60 feet of water. I was using scuba and had just gotten a 30 inch gag. He was scared of the speargun when I was on the bottom. I thought he left. But I looked down during my safety stop and he was coming straight up. He got about a foot away from the end of the spear and then darted off and started circling me.

Can you walk on water? LOL A friend long time ago got a long ways off from our boat spearing fish off big pine key and he had a bunch of grouper on a stringer and the sharks caught wind and started attacking him. He was yelling and screaming and I swear he was walking on water as we were pulling up. The was a big guy and it scared the hell out of him. You should have anchored the jet ski over the area the grouper were hanging out.
The hell with the sharks.. that snake is a no no!!
